Model PBDC -SYMMETRY

Thank you for choosing the PBDC SYMMETRY Audiophile DC Offset Removal and Power Distribution Management System.

This unit incorporates a proven high power DC voltage offset removal circuit packaged in an RFI and EMI blocking, magnetically shielded case.

To provide more flexibility and greatly increased integrity when connecting more than one component, the PBDC SYMMETRY has 4 output sockets, each connected in star format to a single uniform point, with the earth connections also star connected the single star point. The earth/ground start point can also be accessed via the 4mm terminal socket on the case.

Star connection avoids the “Daisy Chaining” of power to the sockets as occurs with ordinary power strips and with outlets arranged along a wall and brings considerable sonic benefits.

With the PBDC SYMMETRY for example; two monoblock amplifiers, a preamp, and a source component can be connected to the mains in star format with all the advantages this brings in addition to the considerable benefit gained from DC removal:

Removing DC enables transformers to function at the greatest efficiency and lowest noise.

Component parts of your HiFi system take High Voltage Alternating Current from your wall sockets and transform it to a lower voltage which is then converted to Direct Current to operate the item. A transformer can be viewed as an electromagnetic pump. With AC power, volts rise to a high positive voltage, fall through zero rises to an equivalent negative voltage and fall back to zero repeating 50 or 60 times every second. A transformer has a laminated steel core, when the voltage rises on the mains (primary) side the transformer converts the electrical energy to magnetism. The secondary side of the transformer takes this magnetic energy and converts it back into electricity. Maximum efficiency is only achieved if the “magnet” can be fully charged with the maximum voltage and completely collapsed to zero — a full stroke of the pump. If there is any DC present on the mains, as there almost always is, the pump cannot achieve a full stroke and so full output power is not achieved. In addition to this, the transformer cores will often buzz noisily.

  • Electrically and magnetically shielded casing
  • 4 star wired sockets avoid “daisy chain” modulation of one component by another
  • Direct maximum power, equal resistance routing to all outputs
  • Rebalances the AC sine wave, removing DC components, this enables transformers to work silently at their very maximum efficiency realizing their full dynamics and power range
  • Star earthing plan avoids hum loops, reduces the noise floor, for greater silence and definition
  • Internal wiring silver-plated OFC copper PTFE insulation
  • Maximum Power 15Amps
  • Resettable Thermo Magnetic Overload Protection
  • Rated Voltage 100-240 50/60Hz
  • Dimensions in mm 230 W x 105 D x 75 H 1.0 Kgs
  • IEC type C14 Input for standard C13 (kettle) connector
  • 5 Years Guarantee
