CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
REMOVING THE WATER IN THE WATER RESERVOIR.
There are two ways to remove the water from the reservoir.
- Use of the Water Reservoir
- When the water reservoir is full, the appliance will automatically stop and the “full” light will turn on.
- Slowly remove the water reservoir from the machine. Hold it securely and pull the reservoir slowly out straight, so that no water is spilled.
- Pour the water out and place the reservoir back in the machine. The reservoir must be placed correctly back in the machine so that the dehumidifier will work properly.
- The machine will resume functioning when the water reservoir is replaced correctly in position.
- Continual Drainage
The water reservoir can be automatically emptied via a drain by connecting a
water hose to the machine. (circumference: 13,5 mm, not included). The outlet
for the drain is located on the back of the machine. Pull the rubber stopper
out of the opening. Insert the water hose through the opening into the
machine. Connect the hose tightly to the drainage outlet and make sure that
the connection is tight and that no water can leak out. Lead the hose to the
location to which the water is destined, such as a floor drain. Make sure that
this point is lower than the drainage outlet. Make sure that the hose runs
vertically, so that the water can drain quickly. In other be no kinks in the
hose.
NOTE : when this continual drainage is not used, make sure that the
rubber stopper hole.
CLEANING
Turn off the machine and pull the plug from the outlet before cleaning the
machine.
Grill and Housing
Use water and a mild detergent to wipe the grills and the housing clean. Do
not use bleach water or abrasive agents. Do not pour or spill water directly
onto the machine. This can cause electrical shock, damage to the insulation or
rust on the machine. The grills where the air enters and exits can easily
become soiled. Use a vacuum cleaner accessory or a brush to clean it.
Water Reservoir
Clean the water reservoir regularly to prevent the growth of mould and
bacteria. Partially fill the water reservoir with clean water and add a bit of
mild detergent. Rinse the reservoir with this solution, pour the solution out,
and rinse the reservoir. After cleaning, the reservoir must be replaced
correctly into the dehumidifier so that the machine will function. NOTE: do
not use a dishwasher to clean the reservoir.
Air Filter
The air filter behind the grill grate should be checked and cleaned every 30
days. Remove the filter. Clean it with warm soapy water. Rinse the filter and
let it dry before putting it back. Do not clean the filter in the dishwasher!
NOTE: never use the dehumidifier without a filter. The machine may get clogged by dirt and dust which will negatively affect its performance.
When the machine has not been used for a long time
- Turn the machine off and wait a day before emptying the water reservoir. This gives the machine a chance to drain and there will be as little residual moisture in the machine as possible.
- Clean the machine, the water reservoir, and the air filter.
- Cover the machine with a plastic sack.
- Store the machine upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.
