NOTES ON USE

  • Avoid high temperatures. Allow for sufficient heat dispersion when installed in a rack.

  • Handle the power cord carefully. Hold the plug when unplugging the cord.

  • Keep the unit free from moisture, water, and dust.

  • Unplug the power cord when not using the unit for long periods of time.

  • Do not obstruct the ventilation holes.

  • Do not let foreign objects into the unit.

  • Do not let insecticides, benzene, and thinner come in contact with the unit.

  • Never disassemble or modify the unit in any way.

  • Ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as
    newspapers, tablecloths or curtains.

  • naked flame sources such as lighted candles should not be placed on the unit

  • Observe and follow local regulations regarding battery disposal.

  • Do not expose the unit to dripping or splashing fluids.

  • Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.

  • Do not handle the mains cord with wet hands.

  • When the switch is in the OFF (STANDBY) position, the equipment is not completely switched off from MAINS.

  • The equipment shall be installed near the power supply so that the power supply is easily accessible.

  • Do not keep the battery in a place exposed to direct sunlight or in places with extremely high temperatures, such as near a heater.

  • Do not bend forcedly the plug on the equipment or the connection between the connector and micro USB/USB cable.

  11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

  12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

  13. ****Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Hot surface mark

The top surface over the internal heat sink may become hot when operating this product continuously. Do not touch hot areas, especially around the “Hot surface mark” and the top panel.
CAUTION:
To completely disconnect this product from the mains, disconnect the plug from the wall socket outlet. The mains plug is used to completely interrupt the power supply to the unit and must be within easy access by the user.
CAUTION:
To prevent electric shock hazards, do not connect to the mains power supply while the grille is removed.

Cautions on installation
For proper heat dispersal, do not install this unit in a confined space, such as a bookcase or similar enclosure.

When mounting the speakers on a wall

  • The speakers can be mounted on a wall using the keyhole hook on its rear panel.

  • When you mount the speakers, be sure to install them properly and securely.
    1. Screw in one self-tapping screw (commercially available, 3/16 inch / 5 mm to 1/4 inch / 6 mm diameter) into a wall that has sufficient strength to support the weight of the speaker, or into reinforcing material on the wall.

  • Hook the keyhole hook on the back of the speaker onto the head of the self-tapping screw. 13/32 inch / 10.5 mm More than 13/16 inch / 20 mm

  • Check that the head of the self-tapping screw hooks securely into the keyhole hook hole.

  • Do not attempt to install this product onto a wall made of material that may crumble easily, such as mortar or decorative plywood. Doing so may result in the screw pulling out and the speaker falling, causing damage to the speaker or injury.

  • Do not install the speaker using other methods such as nails or double-sided tape. The nails may become loose due to vibration or the double-sided tape may peel off due to prolonged use, causing the speaker to fall.

  • Be sure to fix the cables in place so that they cannot be pulled or tripped over by accident.  Be sure to check that the product is safe after installation. Please note that we  can not accept any liability for accidents, etc. that occur as a result of here or how this product is installed. If you are unsure of how to install this product safely, request a professional contractor do the installation work.

Read Me First….
Before You Begin What You Need Welcome
Thank you for choosing a Denon TV Sound system. This guide provides step-by- step instructions for setting up your TV Sound system.
These drawings are for illustrative purposes only and may not represent the actual product(s).

What’s In the Box

Before using the remote control unit

Setup
There are six steps to the setup process.

  1. Placing the Soundbar
  2. Placing the Subwoofer
  3. Connecting the Soundbar to the TV
  4. Connecting the power cords to the AC outlet
  5. Using the Soundbar for TV sound
  6. Using the Soundbar for Bluetooth music streaming

1 Placing the Soundbar
Place the Soundbar in front of the TV.

  • The Soundbar can also be mounted to a wall. Refer to the included wall mount template for details on how to mount.
  • If you want to install your Soundbar on a wall, please refer to the Owner’s Manual for mounting instructions or contact your Denon dealer for assistance.

2 Placing the Subwoofer
Place the Subwoofer on the floor near the Sound bar.

Connecting the Soundbar to TV

For TVs with eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel)/ARC (Audio Return Channel) support, connect the Soundbar to the TV with the included HDMI cable.

If the TV does not support eARC/ARC, connect it to the Soundbar using the included HDMI cable and optical digital cable.

Connecting the power cords to the AC outlet

Connect the included power cords to the Soundbar and Subwoofer, and insert the plugs into an outlet.
Turn on the Soundbar and the LED on the back of the Subwoofer will change from off to green.

Using the Sound bar for TV sound

• If you hear audio coming from the TV’s internal speaker, make sure TV speaker off or min volume.

About the status LEDs
The LEDs on the Sound bar indicate the power, input source, or audio format and other status information.

6 Using the Soundbar for Bluetooth music streaming
Before you can stream music from your Bluetooth device to the Soundbar, you must fi rst “pair” the Sound bar and your device.
Press the (Bluetooth) button on the Soundbar (or remote control unit) until the Bluetooth LED blinks in blue. Sound bar will go into the pairing mode.

Go to the Bluetooth settings on your device and make sure Bluetooth is turned ON.

e Select “DHT-S517 (Default)”.  The status LED turns blue to indicate that the Sound bar is being paired with your Bluetooth device.
