Important Safety Instructions

  • Use indoors only.

  • Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user guide. Use only manufacturer’s recommended accessories.

  • Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord or plug. Discard appliance or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/ or repair.

  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliances over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from high-traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.

  • Do not unplug by pulling cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

  • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

  • Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce airflow.

  • Keep hair, loose clothing and fingers away from openings.

  • Turn OFF device controls before unplugging the appliance.

  • Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.

  • Keep appliance on a level surface.

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids, do not pour liquids into or around the appliance or openings.

  • Do not use the appliance near water or in a damp or wet location.

  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
    To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

  • Suitable for use with solid state speed controls.

  • WARNING: Plastic bags can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this bag away from babies and children.

  • If appliance is not working as it should, or has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.

  • Do not use the appliance with any dimmer switch or solid state speed control device.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Do not turn ON your appliance until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.
  • To reduce the risk of electrical shock, turn power OFF and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet BEFORE performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.

Getting Started

Your air purifier comes with a filter sealed in a plastic bag, remove it before use.

  1. Remove the air purifier from its box and remove the back cover to access the filter

  2. Pull the filter out of the air purifier.

  3. Remove the filter from its protective plastic bag.

  4. Insert the filter back into the air purifier with the Genuine BISSELL® Filter sticker facing down.

  5. Reinstall the back cover of the air purifier.

  6. Place your air purifier at least 12 inches from walls on all sides. Plug in and power on your new BISSELL air purifier!

  • Power
    Turns the air purifier ON/OFF.

  • Fan Speeds
    Adjusts fan speed indicated on front panel. air180 has 4 fan speeds.

  • Timer
    Set the air purifier to automatically turn off after 2 or 8 hours. Timer is indicated on display.

  • Dimmable Display
    Choose between 2 levels of brightness or turn the display lights off. Also used to reset the filter light indicator.

  • Fan Speeds
    Press the Fan Speed button to toggle between 4 fan speeds.

  • Timer Settings
    Press the Timer button to select 2 or 8 hours. To cancel or unselect a timer setting, press the Timer button until the timer indicator lights turn off.

  • Filter Indicator
    Illuminates when filter needs to be replaced or reinstalled. See page 6 for filter instructions.

Replacing the Filters

Filter life varies based on run time and existing air conditions. It is recommended to replace the filter once every 6-8 months. The filter replacement indicator will be solid red when filter needs to be replaced.

  1. Remove the back cover to access the filter.

  2. Pull the filter out of the air purifier.

  3. Remove your new filter from its protective plastic bag.

  4. Insert the new filter with the Genuine BISSELL® Filter sticker facing down.

  5. Reinstall the back cover of the air purifier.

  6. Turn the air purifier ON and press and hold the dimmable display button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep. Filter error will blink red and fan will not start if filter is not installed. Reinstall filter to reset.
    Replacing the Filters

WARNING For your safety, always turn OFF and unplug your air purifier before replacing the filters.

Troubleshooting

Below are some of the issues you may run into. If you don’t see the issue you’re experiencing below, visit support.BISSELL.com.

Problem Possible Cause Remedies
Airflow is significantly reduced Filter is in protective plastic bag. Remove

filter from plastic bag and reinstall (see page 3).
Fan speed is low.| Press the + button to increase fan speed.
Filter needs to be replaced.| Replace the filter (see page 6).
Filter is upside down.| Check filter orientation. Genuine BISSELL Filter Sticker should be facing down.
Air purifier is making unusual noise| Filter is upside down.| Check filter orientation. Genuine BISSELL Filter Sticker should be facing down.
Filter is in protective plastic bag.| Remove filter from plastic bag and reinstall (see page 5).
Filter needs to be replaced.| Replace the filter (see page 6).
Strange smell coming from the air purifier| Filter needs to be replaced.| Replace the filter (see page 6).
Air purifier will not power ON| Power outlet is defective.| Plug the air purifier into a different outlet.
Power cord is damaged.| Stop using the air purifier and contact Consumer Care. Do not attempt to repair.
Filter or back panel is not installed.| Reinstall filter and back panel.
