IMPORTANT
Before using this product, make sure you read these instructions and the
safety instructions in the online User’s Guide.
- Do not open the ink bottles until you are ready to fill the ink tanks. The ink bottles are vacuum packed to maintain reliability. If you leave an ink bottle unpacked for a long time before using it, print quality may be affected.
- Even if some ink bottles are dented, the quality and quantity of ink are guaranteed, and they can be used safely.
- Make sure to place the printer on a flat, stable surface and in an environment with a temperature of 50 °F to 95 °F (10 °C to 35 °C) and humidity of 20% to 80%.
Do not connect a USB cable unless instructed to do so.

Keep the ink bottles out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink.

This printer requires careful handling of ink. If ink spills, wipe it off immediately with a damp towel to avoid permanent stains. If ink gets on your clothes or belongings, it may not come off.

third-party ink. -
This product is designed to work with genuine Epson inks. Non-Epson ink or any other ink not specified for this printer could cause damage not covered by Epson’s warranties.
Remove all protective materials.
Refer to the color-coded sticker to identify the color of each tank.
Shake the ink bottle 15 times.
- Hold the black ink bottle upright and slowly turn the bottle cap to remove it, or ink may leak.
- Use the ink bottles included with the printer to set up the product. Part of the ink will be used to charge the print head. These bottles may print fewer pages compared with replacement ink bottles.
Insert the ink bottle straight into the port to fill ink to the upper line.
- Do not force the bottle into position; each bottle is keyed for each color.
- Ink flows into the tank and stops automatically when the ink tank is filled to the upper line. If ink does not flow from the bottle, lift and reinsert the bottle.
- Do not shake or squeeze the ink bottles. Do not touch the top of the ink bottle after its cap is removed.
- Do not leave the ink bottle inserted; otherwise the bottle may be damaged or ink may leak.
- Ink may remain in the bottle. Any remaining ink can be used to finish filling the ink tanks after printer set up is complete. If any ink remains in the bottles, close the bottles and store them for later use.
When the ink reaches the upper line of the tank, pull out the bottle and recap it.
Repeat the previous steps for the other colors.
After setup, periodically inspect the ink levels to ensure they are not below
the lowest line on the tank. Prolonged use when ink is below the lowest line
could damage the product. See the online User’s Guide for refilling
instructions.
Close the ink tank cover, then close the printer cover.
Connect the power cord to the back of the product and to an electrical outlet.
Raise the control panel, then hold down the power button until the power light turns on.
Select a language.
When the message to see the Start Here sheet appears on the LCD screen, press and hold the help button for 5 seconds
Confirm that the tanks are filled with ink, and then press the button to start
charging ink. Charging ink takes about 14 minutes. A message appears when ink
charging is complete.
When charging ink is complete, the print quality adjustment screen appears on
the LCD screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the print quality.
When the paper loading message appears on the LCD screen,

Open the front of the paper cassette and pull out the paper cassette until it
stops, then slide the side edge guides all the way out.
Load paper that requires adjustment in the paper cassette with the printable
side facing down, then slide the side edge guides paper, but not too tightly.
Insert the paper cassette all the way in, then pull out the output tray. When you have finished selecting the printer’s settings, repeat steps 1 to 10 of section 1 using the remaining ink in the bottles. If any ink remains in the bottles, close the bottles and store them for later use.
CAUTION: The included ink bottles are designed for reliable printer setup and cannot be resold. After some ink is used for charging, the rest is available for printing.

Guide to Control Panel
- Turns the printer on or off.
- Displays the home screen.
- Displays troubleshooting tips.
- Stops the current operation.
- Cancels/returns to the previous menu.
- Press select menus. Press the OK button to the selected menu
- Enters values on the settings screen.
- Applies to a variety of functions depending on the situation
- Starts the operation you selected.
Print Quality Issues
If you see missing segments or broken lines in your printouts, print a nozzle check pattern to check if the print head nozzles are clogged. See the online User’s Guide for more details.
