SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This flat iron is intended for household use. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. This unit is designed to be operated at 120 volts AC. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
NOTE: Do not use this styling appliance on hair extensions.

STYLING WITH THE NEW EASY-GLIDE, SHEA BUTTER-INFUSED, CERAMIC-COATED FLOATING PLATE
One plate of your new flat iron is designed with a little give to “float” in the iron. This provides better contact with hair and eliminates gaps to achieve straighter results faster. The shea butter-infused, easy-glide, ceramic-coated surface is one of the latest and best technological advances in hair appliances. The ceramic, even-heat distribution produces the ultimate in silky, shiny, healthy-looking hair. You’ll find that hair glides easily over the surface of the plates as you’re straightening and that it is easier to clean styling product residue, etc., off the plates after each use. The ceramic surface also helps smooth down flyaways. As you smooth your hair, heat is evenly distributed so that the style you create has a salon-perfect, silky smooth, shiny finish. Hair also glides right through the plates after it’s straightened.

USING INSTANT HEAT, THE HIGH HEAT TEMPERATURE SETTINGS & UNIFORM HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM
This flat iron maintains constant temperature during use for precision styling. Conair’s professional salon standards of engineering provide you with a uniform and improved heat recovery system that maintains the iron at constant temperatures. There is a constant surge of power to ensure that heat is continuously and quickly delivered for optimal styling results, unlike other units, which lose heat during use. This provides consistent styling power so that every strand of your hair gets the same level of heat and comes out the same way for a perfect finish. The appliance’s 5 temperature settings and instant heat technology combine to provide styling versatility for all hair textures. If you have fine hair, a low temperature will provide the best results. If you have thick, wavy or textured hair, keep the heat setting high. You can vary the appliance’s temperature according to your particular need!

TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR
Hair should be clean and completely dry before using the flat iron. For best results, use a light styling product before blow-drying hair.

  1. Start with a hair section that is 1½ inches wide and no more than ½ inch thick.
  2. Open the iron and place the hair section between the two hot plates, close to the scalp. Trap hair between the plates by firmly squeezing the handles together.
  3. While maintaining the tension, slowly pull the unit down along the hair section toward the ends. At the ends, release the pressure on the handle and allow the hair to slide out.
  4. Repeat the process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire. It may be necessary to repeat the process on certain areas, depending on the texture of your hair. Some experience is necessary when learning to use this flat iron. After using the iron several times, you will learn the ideal way to straighten and style your hair.

ADD VOLUME AND SHAPE
To add flips and waves, secure ends between the plates and wrap hair around the outer housing. It’s an easy way to add shape to straight styles. Turn your wrist up or under to create flips and add curl or more body.

Your flat iron is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and openings clear of dirt and dust.
