BEFORE USING
- Remove all packaging & point of sale labels before use. DO NOT USE THIS STYLER ON HAIR EXTENSIONS.
GETTING STARTED CHARGING
The Curl Secret® Cordless is so easy to use. But before you start using your
new styler you must take the time to CHARGE FULLY
OVERNIGHT BEFORE FIRST USE.
- Before use, plug the USB-C end of the charging cable into the charging port on the bottom of the styler. Then plug the USB cable into the USB port of the adaptor.
- Plug your adaptor into a suitable household power outlet (100240V – refer to WORLDWIDE VOLTAGE) & place on a heat protective, flat level surface.
- Charge fully overnight before first use. The battery LED indicator will flash when charging. Once LED indicator turns solid, the styler is fully charged and ready to use.
NOTE – When the styler is charging, other functions are disabled. It is
designed for cordless use only.
NOTE – The styler may become a little warm when charging or during use.
This is normal. CORDLESS USE – After the first overnight charge, the
styler will
take approximately 2.5 hours to fully charge before each use. This can provide
up to 40mins cord-free usage time. In-use time will vary depending on the heat
and curl type settings selected, as well as hair type.
NOTE – Charge time may vary depending on type of adaptor and power source
being used.
PRESERVING THE BATTERY – In order to maintain the optimum capacity of the
lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the styler should be recharged for 3 hours
approximately every 3 months. Even though the styler may not be used for an
extended period of time if in storage, it should be recharged every 3 months
for approximately 3 hours to preserve the battery life.
Do not leave lithium-ion battery unused for extended periods of time.
CHARGING TIPS
- Make sure the USB connector is pushed all the way into the USB-C input on the bottom of the styler.
- Make sure styler is completely cool before charging.
TANGLE-FREE TECHNOLOGY
Curl Secret® Cordless is safe & easy to use when used properly.
However, should improper use occur, the tangle-free feature has been designed
to immediately stop the appliance from drawing hair into the curl chamber &
reverse to a neutral position.
IMPORTANT: If hair does get tangled, you will hear one long beep. Press
the START button to stop the current curling operation.
Then work the hair out of the unit carefully. Using your fingers, slowly
remove a few strands of hair at a time from the chamber.
Make sure fingers do not come in contact with heated curl chamber.
MEMORY FUNCTION
The Curl Secret® Cordless features a memory function, which will automatically
default to your previous heat & curl type settings from when it was powered
off last time, saving time & hassle.
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
The Curl Secret® Cordless has an automatic shut off feature for added safety
and to preserve battery life.
If the styler is switched on and idle for more than 5 minutes, it will
automatically shut off. This does not mean the battery is dead. If you want to
continue using the styler after this time, simply press the button to turn the
power on again. The styler will default to the last settings used.

DETERMING THE CORRECT HAIR SECTION SIZE
The Curl Secret® Cordless is a different type of styling tool & works
differently to any other curling stylers you may have used in the past.
So before you start using it, familiarize yourself with the right size hair
section depending on your length.
IMPORTANT: Do not start the curl any closer than 2cm to 4cm from the
scalp, depending on how long your hair length is.
Comb through to remove any tangles & divide hair into sections no wider than
2.5cm (the smaller the section, the tighter the curls).
The short & long hair slots should help you to determine the optimum hair
section. DO NOT try to jam larger sections into the hair slots, as this is
improper use.
MIX & MATCH
style | temp | curl type | finishing |
---|---|---|---|
defined curls | 200°C |
| let hair cool before gently shaking curls
classic curls| 200°C| | let hair cool before combing through with a wide-
tooth comb
glam curls| 180°C| | let hair cool before using a paddle brush
soft, natural curls/waves| 180°C| | let hair cool before combing with a
wide-tooth comb
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Ensure your hair is clean, completely dry & free from hairspray. Hairspray may cause the hair to heat up to astronomical temperatures & stick like glue, in- turn creating difficulty to remove hair from the styler.
-
IMPORTANT – You must section your hair & comb through until its completely tangle-free before use.
The secret to nailing your look is to create 3 sections.
This will ensure your style always looks consistent.
a) Use the wide-tooth comb or fingers & create the top section, from temple to temple and clip away on top of the head with a sectioning clip.
b) Create the middle section from ear to ear & clip away with a sectioning clip.
c) The hair left down is your bottom section.
d) Always start with the bottom section first & once completely styled as desired, unclip the middle section, style & then unclip the top section. When using the Curl Secret® Cordless you will need to divide the hair into smaller sections.
Refer to DETERMING THE CORRECT HAIR SECTION SIZE for more detail.
For more information on sectioning hair go to vssassoon.com.au. -

-
Guide the remaining section of hair down the long slot until it’s below the symbol & gently hold in place to ensure proper position for curling. Make sure 100% of the hair section is aligned along the slot and that there are no fray hair strands.IMPORTANT – Your hair may become tangled if these instructions are not followed or if any hair is held loosely & falls away without 100% of it entering the curl chamber at the same time.
