PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USE

KEEP THE5E INSTRUCTIONS IN MINO:

  1. Do not cover or block any vent ilation openings. When placing the device on a shelf. leave 5 cm (2~) free space around the whole device

  2. Install in accordance with the supplied user manual.

  3. Keep the device away from heat sources such as radiators, heaters. stoves, candles and other heat•generating products or naked flame. The device can only be used in moderate climates. Extremely cold or warm environments should be avoided. Working temperature between o• and 35•c .

  4. Avoid using the device near strong magnetic fields

  5. Electrostatic discharge can disturb normal usage of this device. If so. simply reset and restart the device following the Instruction manual. During file transmission, please handle with care and operate in a static-free environment.

  6. Warning! Never insert an object into the product through the vents or openings. High voltage flows through the product and inserting an object can cause electric shock and/or short circuit internal parts. For the same reason, do not spill water or liquid on the product.

  7.  Do not use in wet or moist areas such as bathrooms, steamy kitchens or near swimming pools.

  8.  The device shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and make sure that no objects filled with liquids. such as vases,
    are placed on or near the apparatus.

  9. Do not use this device when condensation may occur. When the unit is used in a warm wet room with damp, water droplets or condensation may occur inside the unit and the unit may not function properly; let the unit s1and in power OFF for 1 or 2 hours before turning on the power: the unit should be dry before getting any power.

  10. Atthough this device is manufactured with the utmost care and checked several times before leaving the factory, it Is still possible tha t problems may occur, as with all electrical appliances.   27. lf the product is delivered with power cable or AC power adaptor:

    • If any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to qualified per sonnel.
    • Don’t step on or pinch the power adaptor. Be very careful, particularly near the plugs and the cable’s e xit point. Do not place heavy items on the power adaptor, which may damage it. Keep the entire device out of children’s reach! When playing with the power cable, they can seriously Injure themselves.

Battery operation

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Switching On and Off
    • Power the product on: Press the POWER <!) button, the LCD display lights up. When the CD mode is selected while no CD is inserted, the LCD display Mashes – – , then shows “nocd’ steadi ly.

Setting Volume Level

FM Radio Operation
Manual Station Selection
The product is equipped with a telescopic antenna located at the back of the product. Pull out the antenna completely and rotate to achieve the best FM channel reception. Press the FUNCTION button to select “FM mode. The LCD will show ‘FM along with the radio frequency scale. Rotate the TUNING knob or press the PREVI R or NEXT/+ PH button step by step to turn to the desired radio stations.
Search Station Operation
Scroll the TUNING knob to quickly reach the desired frequency. Or press and hold the PREVI- R or NEXT+ button for approx. 1 second, it will start to search the next radio station in the direction of the search. The search operation simply finds stations with strong signals. Stations with weak reception can only be tuned in
FM Stereo
When turning to an FM Stereo Broadcast, ‘ST will be shown on the LCD display.

Memorize Radio Stations (Manually)
Tune to the desired station. Long press PROG button, the LCD display will show PO1′ and PROG’ is flashing. Press PREVI- K or NEXT/+ button and select the desired number of your program. Press PROG button to store the radio station in the memory. Repeat steps above to store more tracks in memory. You can store up to 20 radio stations in the memory. If another station is already assigned to the selected preset number, that station is replaced by the new one.
Memorize Radio Stations (Automatically)
Long press PLAY/PAUSE I button, the radio will simply finds stations with strong signals, these stations are stored in memory from lower frequencies to higher ones. You need to memorize a station with a weak signal manually. 3.6 Select the Radio Stations in the Progarm (Program Play) Press PROG buttorn for the radio station memory and press PREV1- KM or NEXT/+ H button through the programmed station, the display will show ‘PO1′, P02’.etc., select the number to listen to the programmed stations.

CD Operation
This product reads CD, CD-R/-RW discs. Other discs are not supported by this product.

  • When playing CD-R/-RW dics the playback quality might be influenced by the quality of the burned disc. When buming CD-R/ RW disks with audio files it is recommended to use the slowest burning speed.
  • The product automatically power off about 15 minutes after
    • finishing last playback for CD operation
    • pressing the PLAY/PAUSEII button to pause playback
    • pressing the STOPbutton to stop playback

Inserting and Removing a CD

  • Flip the carrying handle back before open the CD compartment lid.

Programmed Playback

  • The product can program up to 20 tracks for CD discs in any desired order.
  • Press the STOP key to stop playback.Oakcastle CD-20 -Portable- CD -and- Cassette -Player- 11

NOTE: Press the STOPbutton anytime using programming to cancel all previous programming and start over.
Repetition and Random Playback of Tracks

  • The repeat function allows repeated playback of a track or the entire content of a disc during normal playback or programmed playback. Press REPEAT button to activate one of the following functions.

4.5 Compact Discs

  • Treat compact discs carefully. Handle them only by their edges. Never touch the shiny, unlabelled side of the disc by your fingers.
  • Only hold the CD on the edges.
  • Do not put adhesive tape, stickers etc. on either side of a disc.
  • Clean discs periodically with soft, lint-free and dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean discs. If it is necessary, use a CD cleaning kit
  • Ifa disc skips or gets stuck during playback, it is probably dirty or damaged.
  • When cleaning a disc, wipe in straight lines from the centre of the disc to its edge. Never wipe in circular motions.
  • When removing a disc from its storage case, press down on the centre of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by its edges.
  • Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc’s recorded side with a soft cloth. Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust, so gently wiping with a piece of soft cloth should remove most particles.

Cassette Operation

  • This product plays tapes in the format Compact Cassette. This product does not support other rape formats.
  • When playing home recorded cassettes the playback quality might be infiuenced by the quality of the recording equipment and of the blank cassette used.

Inserting and Removing a Cassette

  • Press the FUNCTION button to select ‘TAPE’ mode. The LCD will show TAPE’
  • Open the cassette compartment by pressing STOP/EJECT button.
  • Insert a cassette, then close the cassette compartment.

Cassette Playback

  • Press the PLAY button to start playback. The product resumes playback from where it has stopped at after the last playback
  • Press the PAUSE button to pause playback and press it again to resume playback.
  • During playback, use the FE.F.WD and RWD buttons to fastforward and rewind the tapes. Stop the winding by pressing the STOP/EJECT button once.
  • When playback reaches the end of the tape, the PLAY butoon pops up.
  • To manually stop playback. press the STOP/EJECT button.

Recoding on a tape
NOTE: Be sure to connect the AC power cord to avoid an unexpected recording failure.

  1. Press POWERbutton tum on the power of the unit, and then prepare the source you want to record.
    To record CD tracks ona disc

    • Place a disc in the CD compartment. Make sure not to start playback. See Playing a Disc.”  To record a FM radio program
    • Tune to the desired station. See “FM Radio Operation.”
  2. Press STOP/EJECT button, insert a cassete tape into the cassette tape compartment and then close the compartment cover.

  3. Press RECORD button to start recording (the PLAY button will depress automatically at the same time).

    • When recording from a disc Playback starts automatically and recording of all the tracks on the disc proceeds from the first track. When the tape reaches the end, recording stops automatically. When recording a FM1 dio program
    • Recording continues until the tape reaches the end.
      NOTE: Adjusting the olume will not affect the recording level.
  4.  Stop recodring by press STOP/EJECT button

  5. Pause recroding by press PLAY button, to resume recording, press the button again.

  6. Connecting Headphones
    CAUTION: Do not wear the earphones immediately without lowering the volume first.
    NOTE: When the headphotes/earphones are connected, the main speakers are muted automatically

    • Rotate the VOLUME knob anticlockwise to the lowest volume.
    • Connect the headphones to the 3.5mm headphone socket.
    • Adjust the volume by rotating the VOLUME knob..

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Care of the product & Caution

  • To prevent fire or shock hazard your unit from the AC power source. Disconnect the product from the power source when cleaning.
  • If the unit becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft and dry cloth to clean this product. Do not use any wax, polish sprays, or abrasive cleaners on the unit.
  • Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning. Dispose of used batteries in an environmental-responsible manner. This product is not intended for commercial use. Household uses only..

PLL Radio Operation

  1. The appliance is equipped with a telescopic antenna located at the back of the appliance. Pull out the antenna completely and rotate to achieve the best FM reception.
  2. Press POWER/OFF button to turn on the unit.
  3.  Press the FUNCTION button to select the FM mode.

MANUAL STATION SELECTION

  1.  Press the TUN-/ or TUN+/ button step by step to tune to the desired radio stations.
  2. Press VOLUME + or VOLUME- button for the desired volume level. v You can also choose the desired radio station by turning the TUNING Control on the side of boombox. The selected radio frequency can be read on the LCD display.

SEARCH STATION OPERATION

  1. Press and hold the TUN-/ or TUN+/ button for approx. 3 second, it will start to search the next radio station in the direction of the search.

  2. Press STOP/EJECT button to open the Cassette Door, insert a cassette tape, and close the Cassette Door.
  3. Press FUNCTION button switch to one of the other settings (FM/CD).
  4. While playing from the Source, press RECORD button (PLAY button will depress automatically at the same time). Audio from the Source will be copied to the tape.
  5. Recording continues until the tape reaches the end. Or stop recording by press STOP/EJECT button.
    NOTE: Adjusting the volume will not affect the recording level.
