SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Important! To minimize the risk of fire, electric shock or injury:
  • Carefully read this instruction before using the appliance.
  • Children do not realize the dangers that can arise when using electrical appliances; therefore keep the appliance out of reach of children.
  • Do not immerse the body of the appliance in water or other liquids. Immersing in water may cause an electric shock.
  • If water spills on the external components of the appliance, dry it thoroughly before switching back on. Do not touch wet surfaces in contact with the appliance connected to power supply, immedi ately disconnect it from the mains.
  • Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage to the power cord, or if the appliance has been dropped on the floor.
  • After use, always pull out the plug from the sock et, and also in case of any malfunction, before cleaning or before changing accessories.
  • When pulling out the plug from the wall outlet, never pull by the cord, only the plug, holding the socket with your other hand.
  • This is a class I electrical shock protection appli ance, and therefore power outlet to which it is connected to must be equipped with grounding pin.
  • Do not attempt to remove any parts of the hous ing.
  • To prevent damage to the power cord, do not place it over sharp edges or close to hot surfaces.
  • Do not expose the appliance to rain or humidity, and do not use it outdoors. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it should be re placed by a professional repair shop in order to avoid hazard.
  • Never leave the appliance connected to the mains without supervision.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and older or by persons with physical, men tal or sensory handicaps, or by those who are inexperienced or unfamiliar with the appliance, provided they are supervised or have been in structed how to safely use the appliance and are familiar with risks associated with the use of the appliance. Ensure that children do not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance should not be performed by children unless they are 8 years or older and are super vised by a competent person.
  • Using attachments that were not supplied with the product may cause damage to the appliance.
  • Before use, extend and straighten the power cord.
  • Do not use an extension cord which does not meet the applicable electrical standards and regulations.
  • Do not attempt to remove any parts of the hous ing or insert any objects into the appliance.
  • Never fill the appliance with more water than up the indicated maximum water level.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before adding water to the reservoir.
  • Unplug the appliance from the wall socket before adding water to the reservoir.
  • Empty the water reservoir after use.
  • When placing the appliance on a base, make sure it is stable.
  • The appliance generates a large amount of hot steam during operation. Always use oven mitts to avoid burns. Always pick up the lid slowly making sure steam will escape away from you.
  • Make sure the baskets are stacked on the appli ance correctly, fit well and are stable.
  • Before taking the appliance apart, make sure it has cooled down completely.
  • Do not move the appliance containing hot food.
  • Under no circumstances should you touch the steam chamber — it is very hot.
  • During cooking do not reach into the appliance. To check the temperature take the food out with a long spoon or fork. Do not lean over the appli ance during operation.
  • Do not use the appliance near furniture, as hot steam can damage the surfaces.
  • Do not use the appliance when not fully assem bled.
  • The appliance generates heat. Be cautious when using the appliance.
  • Unplug the appliance from the power outlet and wait until it cools down before cleaning.
  • The appliance is designed for cooking food — do not use it for any other purpose.
  • Appliance components are not suitable for wash ing in the dishwasher.
  • Do not add to the water any sugar, salt, pepper, spices, wine, olive oil and other such additives. This can irreversibly damage the appliance.
  • Warning: there is a risk of burns from escaping steam. Observe all safety precautions when us ing the appliance.
  • Electrical requirements: Make sure that the volt age indicated on the nameplate corresponds to the electric power parameters at home, power must be marked as ~ (alternating current).

UNPACKING AND DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

UNPACKING

During transportation, protective packaging was used to protect the appliance against any damage. After unpacking, please dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to the environment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are 100% recyclable and are marked with the appropriate symbol. Important! Packaging materials (bags, polyethylene, polystyrene, etc.) should be kept away from children during unpacking.

DISPOSAL OF OLD APPLIANCE

In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU and local legislation regarding used electrical and electronic goods, this appliance is marked with the symbol of the crossed-out waste container. This marking indicates that the appliance must not be disposed of together with other household waste after it has been used. The user is obliged to hand it over to waste collection centre collecting used electrical and electronic goods. The collectors, including local collection points, shops and local authority departments provide recycling schemes. Proper handling of used electrical and electronic goods helps avoid environmental and health hazards resulting from the presence of dangerous components and the inappropriate storage and processing of such goods.

OPERATION

Before first use Unpack the appliance and check if the kit contains all the accessories. Remove any protective film and tape. Wash all elements (except the base unit with water reservoir) in warm water and mild detergent, then wipe dry with a cloth. Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.

Cooking

  • Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface.
  • Pour enough water into the reservoir (Figure 3 and Figure 4). Do not exceed the maximum water level in the reservoir. Depending on the method of filling pay attention to the ,,MAX” marks inside the reservoir and the water inlet.

Warning: Do not add any salt, pepper, seasonings, herbs, wine, stock or any liquid other than tap water to the reservoir. This may damage the appliance permanently.

  • Place the drip tray (Figure 1, item 7) on the base unti (Figure 1, item 10) and make sure that both elements are stable.
  • Depending on the amount of food you want to cook, place the appropriate number of baskets with food in the correct order (fit correct bases in baskets). Make sure the assembled appliance is stable. Place larger items of food that will take more time to cook in the bottom basket. You can use separators each container (Fig.1, item 2 and 5).
  • Close upper container by lid (Fig. 1, item 1)

Warning: There is strainers in the drip tray where you can put fresh or dried herbs to spice up your healthy dishes. Thyme, coriander, basil, dill, curry and tarragon are some of the herbs and spices, which, along with garlic, caraway or horseradish will enhance the flavour without the need to add salt. To make sure small pieces of herbs / spices do not fall through the strainer, rinse the strainer before adding the spices. Do not add salt, pepper, spices, herbs or other liquids into the water reservoir. This can damage the appliance.

  • Connect the appliance to the power supply. The appliance will be in standby mode. The display will light up with all the symbols (Figure 17), and you will hear a beep. The appliance is be ready to set the cooking programme
  • Read the chapter Set a cooking program below to obtain all the necessary information on how to set the desired cooking program.
  • Press after the symbol stops blinking.
  • Within 30 seconds, the appliance will produce steam, the , sym bol will flash on the display. Timer will start countdown and when programme ends the symbol will be displayed.

Warning: Do not touch the base unit, baskets or the lid during appli ance operation, as these elements are very hot.

  • When cooking programme ends you will hear two beeps and the ap pliance will start to keep food warm. This takes about 20 minutes. The keep food warm symbol is shown on the display, the timer countdown starts until is shown. You will then hear five beeps and the appliance will turn off after one minute.
  • Using oven mitts or a towel gently lift the lid. Use caution because a large amount of steam accumulated inside the baskets will be released.
  • Unplug the appliance.

Warning: While steam coking you can add or reduce the cooking time using the and buttons, You can also adjust time in keep food warm mode. Press START / PAUSE to pause the programme while steam cooking. To end a programme press START / PAUSE button and then On/Off switch (Figure 16). You can use fewer baskets for steaming but never operate the appli ance that is not fully assembled.

Few dishes in one time

This appliance has two heaters, It can be operated separately and/or at the same time. It has different options to set the timing and select the cooking items.

Connect the appliance to the power supply. The appliance will be in standby mode. The display will light up with all the symbols (Figure 17), and you will hear a beep. The appliance is be ready to set the cooking programme.

Set a cooking programme

The appliance features 7 cooking programmes. Press or , to se lect a programme. You will hear a beep and appropriate symbol will be displayed:

Menu setting for both side steaming
Connect the appliance to the power supply. The appliance will be in standby mode. The display will light up with all the symbols (Figure 17), and you will hear a beep.
Press and hold left button  for few seconds, the display shows dishes symbols on both sides of display:

If you want to increase or decrease the cooking time by pressing  and , respectively. Then press , to start the operation.
If the cooking time is same for both side, it will start the steaming function at the same, time (see as above). If the selected food items are not same, first the longest cooking side is starting the steaming function. When the steaming time of longest cooking side reaches as same as an second side, now that side also will start to work.

Use the keep food warm function

The keep food warm function activates automatically at the end of the cooking programme. It can also be set manually. When you select the keep food warm function the symbol will be shown on the display.
At the end of the programme will be shown on the display, you will hear five beeps and the appliance will turn off after 1 minute.

Important notes on the operation

Press to pause cooking.
Press again to resume cooking. When you select the programme use the and buttons to adjust cooking time.
You can change programme while cooking. To do this press , to pause, then press the or button repeatedly to select a new pro­ gram and resume cooking.
To completely turn off the appliance , press , the display will go off. Then unplug the appliance by pulling the power plug out of the socket.

Custom cooking time

You can set custom cooking time from 1 minute to 99 minutes.
When you start the appliance with default settings, adjust cooking time using the and buttons.
When you select the desired cooking time press to start the cook­ ing process.

Warning: To use both sides of appliance, press and hold left button for few seconds before time changing.

Cooking eggs

Refer to the Cooking chapter.
Place eggs in a suitable basket (Fig. 5) and cover with the lid.
Set the appropriate cooking programme as explained in chapter Set a cooking programme.

Cooking rice

Refer to the Cooking chapter.
Place the bottom basket with drip tray on the appliance.
Place a soup/rice bowl on top (Fig. 6).
Add one cup of rice in the bowl and half a cup of cold water. The por­ tion of rice should not exceed 250g
Set the appropriate cooking programme as explained in chapter Set a cooking programme.

Add water during operation

You need to periodically add water during steam cooking.
Add water to the reservoir when water level approaches the „MIN” level at the water inlet (Fig. 4).
When there is not enough water in the reservoir you will hear a beep and the flashing symbol will be shown on the display.
When you add more water the beeping will stop and the symbol will be turned off.
During operation, do not add water by removing the stacked baskets. When you remove the baskets, large amount of steam will be released, which can cause burns.

Auto off function

The appliance turns off automatically when it is plugged in and not in use (standby mode). The appliance will turn off after about 1 minute of inactivity and you will hear a beep.
The appliance will also turn off after the keep food warm function com­ pletes.
The appliance will auto power off when you select a programme, set the off- timer but do not confirm by pressing the button.
To resume the operation, press .

Useful information about steam cooking.

  • The food in the top basket will take longer to cook.
  • The default time setting in all programmes is a suggestion only.
  • The cooking time can differ depending on the size of pieces of food, spacing between the pieces, the freshness of products, and person­ al preference.
  • Food will cook faster in a single basket then in stacked baskets.
  • When you cook food of different thickness, place the thinnest pieces at the top.
  • Place food in baskets in such a way that the steam flow to the up­ per baskets is unrestricted.
  • When cooking large quantity of food, carefully lift the lid and stir the food halfway through the cooking programme. Use oven mitts and be cautious as steam is very hot. Use a long spoon for stirring and do not put your hand inside the baskets.
  • Do not add salt and spices to baskets and water reservoir — this can cause scale build-up and permanently damage the heating ele­ ment.
  • Cooking juice in the drip tray is ideal as base for aromatic sauces.
  • Never steam cook frozen meat, poultry and seafood. Food must should be completely thawed before steaming.
  • If necessary, add water. Always use cold water.
  • Bowl included in the kit is ideal for preparing vegetables, fruit, pud­ ding, soups, etc.
  • You can put different food products in baskets. Note that condensed water will drip down to lower baskets.
  • Always place in the bottom basket food that takes longer to cook.
  • Place meat in the bottom basket so that dripping water having contact with raw meat does not drip onto other ingredients, such as vegetables.
  • Food in the top basket usually needs a few minutes longer to cook than the ingredients placed in the bottom basket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning and maintenance
  • Before cleaning, make sure the appliance is disconnected from the power source and has cooled completely.
  • Do not immerse the base unit in water or other liquid. Wash the interior with a cloth and a little mild detergent. Wipe the external base unit surfaces with a damp cloth. Wipe dry.
  • Do not use abrasive powder detergents to clean the appliance com­ ponents. Use a mild detergent and warm water
  • Appliance components are not suitable for washing in the dishwash­ er.
  • Always wash all appliance elements after use.
  • Pay particular attention to clean the base unit around the diffuser and the float sensor — dirty float sensor may indicate low water level although there is enough water in the tank.

Descale the appliance

  • Regular descaling prolongs the appliance life.
  • After every 15 hours of steam cooking (steaming only, keeping food warm does not count) the will be displayed to remind you to des­ cale the appliance.
  • Follow these steps to descale the appliance once you finish steam cooking:
  1. Add white vinegar in the water reservoir to the “MAX” mark. Do not use any chemicals or other substances.
  2. Assemble the appliance according to the relevant instructions.
  3. Power up the appliance.
  4. Set the cooking time to 25 minutes. If boiling white vinegar starts to boil over, turn off the appliance, allow it to cool and reduce the amount of vinegar in the tank.
  5. Repeat the cooking process several times after every 5 minutes, replace the water in the reservoir.

APPROXIMATE COOKING TIME

  • Cut the vegetables into smaller pieces
  • Cook leafy vegetables for the shortest time. When steamed for too long they will lose the colour.
  • If necessary, add salt and spices when cooked
  • Frozen vegetables should not be thawed before cooking.

Meat and poultry
  • Steaming has the advantage that all fat from cooked meat drips into the drip tray.
  • Cut the portion of meat into smaller pieces, which will cook faster.
  • Add marinade and spices to the meat prior to steaming.
  • Make sure that the food is fully cooked before serving. Cut the larg­ est piece of meat and make sure it is cooked throughout.
