Never load the scale with more than the maximum capacity. Although the J-Scale®J-SHIP is designed to be extremely durable with extra overload protection built into the case, overloading will permanently damage it! Avoid any exposure to extreme heat or cold, your scale works better when operated at normal room temperature. Keep your scale in a clean environment. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents and/or a close proximity to other electronic equipment can all cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale. Handle with care. Gently apply all items to be weighed onto the platform. Avoid shaking, dropping or otherwise shocking the scale. Scales are delicate instruments and unlike cellular phones, scales have delicate sensors that determine how much an item weighs. If you drop or shock your scale, these sensors “feel”the shock and are sometimes destroyed.This happens with all digital scales. We design our scales to be as resistant to shock or drops as possible, however, there is no way for us to protect 100% against load cell or sensor damage. Failure to follow these instructions will void your warranty.

Always allow the scale to acclimate to normal room temperature for at least one hour before use.Give your scale sufficient warm up time. Usually 30-60 seconds before calibration to give the internal components a chance to stabilize.

PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USING THE BALANCE

Matter charged with static electricity can affect Discharge all static electricity. For example, one method is to use Static-Guard spray, and spray it on both sides of the weighing platform.

AC Adapter
The scale can be powered by an AC adapter. Please only use the correct AC adapter for this scale – an incorrect AC adapter can cause damage to the scale and possible fire or injury. Use of an incorrect AC adapter will also void your warranty.

BATTERIES

Low Batteries & bad battery connections are the #1 cause of scale malfunction and inaccuracy! We test all of our scale returns from consumers and 60% of them are battery related problems. This sounds silly but it’strue! A scale will perform poorly when it has low batteries. Use good quality batteries & replace them often (Remove the batteries if you plan to store the scale for longer then 14 days). We include good quality batteries with all ofour scales but they can run low in storage. If your scale simply won’t turn own hile on battery power, it is often caused by loose battery connections. Battery prongs (terminals) are made of metal and they have to be in contact with the batteries. Some poorly designed batteries have recessed or partially obstructed battery terminals. This may cause your prongs to touch the plastic housing of the battery instead ofthe metal of the battery terminal.

Press and lift open the battery cover located at the bottom of the

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS

Weighing Procedures

Press[ON/OFF) to turn on the scale. When the power is turned on, the scale will countdown for a few seconds and “0.0” will appear on the display.
Press [MODE] to select a weighing unit kg or Once the unit has been selected, the selected unit will be displayed next to the weight value.
Start to Verify the reading is at “O”. Place objects on the weighing platform to weigh. When the reading becomes stable, the stable indicator is displayed.

TARE
Tare can be used to eliminate the weight value of an empty container. Place an empty container on the scale and press [TARE). Then place the items to be weighed in the container. NOTE: When all weight is removed from the weighing tray,the tared value of a container will be displayed as a negative number. Press [TARE) again to return the scale to zero.

SCALE FEATURES

Overload indicator
When the display shows “E”, this indicates an overload. Remove excessive load immediately. Remember: you can permanently damage the scale and void your warranty by overloading it!

Auto-off
An auto-off feature is provided to conserve battery power.

ADJUSTING THE DEFAULT SETTINGS

To enter the settings mode:

Turn on the scale and waitforthe display to show”0.0″.
Press and hold [MODE) & [TARE) for 5 Release both buttons when the display shows “88888” followed by the deafult setting “P. 6102” or “P.6101”. JSHIP-130 default setting =P. 6101. JSHIP-332 default setting =P. 61 0 2
Users can adjust these settings by using [TARE) & [MODE) buttons.
Users can exit the settings mode by pressing [ON/OFF) for 5 seconds until the scale turns

Stable Indicator Setting

The first number of the “P.6102″or”P.6101″ is the stable indicator setting, in this case the default setting is”6”.Users can adjust this value by pressing [MODE).
- Setting O: stable indicator disabled
- Setting 1-8: the scale will maintain a steady reading from 1 to 8seconds
- Setting 9: the scale will maintain a steady reading providing that the weight on the platform does not change.
Press [TARE) to confirm and move to the next setting (step 2) or exit the settings mode by pressing [ON/OFF) for 5 seconds until the scale turns off.

Zero Tracking Range
Zero tracking enables high-precision scales to compensate during wind fluctuations and vibrations. It is possible to adjust the level of assistance offered by zero tracking. To dothis use the following steps:

The second number of the”P. 610 2″ or “P.61 01″ is the zero tracking range, in this case the default setting is”l ”.Users can adjust this value by pressing [MODE).
- For best results we recommend the default setting”O”: Setting 0-3 =for 5 divisions or below the scale will automatically zero.
- For extreme accuracy please use setting “4”: Setting 4-7= no minimum display range. This will make the scale more susceptible to wind fluctuations and vibrations.
Press [TARE) to confirm and move to the next setting (step 3) or exit the settings mode by pressing [ON/OFF) for 5 seconds until the scale turns off.

Auto-Off setting

The third number of the “P. 61 0 2” or “P.61 01″ is the auto-offtime setting, in this case the default setting is”0”.Users can adjust this value by pressing [MODE).
- Auto-off disabled
- 30 seconds
- 60 seconds
- 90 seconds
- 120 seconds
- 150 seconds
- 180 seconds
- 210 seconds
- 240 seconds
- 300 seconds
Press [ON/OFF) to confirm and move to the calibration setting or exit the settings mode by pressing [ON/OFF) for 5 seconds until the scale turns off.

NOTE : Please do not adjust the fourth digit of the default setting”P. 6 1 0 l” or”P.6 1 0 1″. Failure to do this may void your warranty

Calibration

Calibration may be required when the scale is first set up for use, or if the scale is moved to a different altitude or new location. This is necessary because the weight of a mass in one location is not necessarily the same in another location. Also, with time and use,mechanical deviations can occur.

J-Ship 332 calibration weights: (1) 40kg, (2) 80kg & (3) 120kg
J-Ship130 calibration weights: (1) 20kg, (2) 40kg & (3) 60kg

Turn on the scale and wait for the display toshow”O.O”.
Press and hold [MODE] & [TARE]. Release both buttons when the display shows the deafult setting “P.6 10 1″or “P.6 10 1”.
Press [ON/OFF] to enter calibration mode. The display will now show AID value (a series of random numbers).
Press [MODE] the display wil show”O.O”and return to the A/Dvalue.
Add the first calibration weight (1) and wait 3 seconds. When the reading is steady press [MODE].
Add the second calibration weight (2) and wait 3 seconds.When the reading is steady press [MODE].
Add the third calibration weight (3), and wait 3 seconds. When the reading is steady press [MODE]. The display will show”bUSy” and power off. Calibration is complete.

DISPLAY SYMBOLS
