Wintering mode is disabled when the mains plug is disconnected from the charger
Forgetting to put your Batteries in Sleep Mode
If the sleep process has not been followed correctly there may be a loss of
autonomy in future uses of the battery. To remedy this situation, leave the
battery on charge for between 12 and 72 hours (for extreme cases of incorrect
storage that cause an imbalance).
Full autonomy can also be recovered over several daily charges that can be
spread over the first week of work. To do this, make sure the battery remains
on the charger every night during the first week of work.
Reminder: Putting the battery to sleep mode eliminates any risk of battery
imbalance (see page 11).
Battery storage instructions
Store the battery and the charger in a well ventilated area, free from
inflammable products or heat sources, and keep out of reach of children.
Do not store empty batteries. If the battery is very flat it will no longer
charge and will be considered to be out of service.
Do not store the battery without carrying out the Sleep / Winter mode process.
Do not store batteries that are out of service, return them to your approved
INFACO dealer.
Do not store batteries when they are connected to the charger or to a tool.
Do not store the charger connected to the main power supply.
**** All failures to follow the storage and safety instructions will result
in the manufacturer’s guarantee being voided.
There is a fire hazard if the product suffers damage (impacts, being dropped,
exposure to high temperatures, etc.).

**Fault (The pruning shears stop)**
Red LED flashing quickly| Fault on the pruning shears
If the pruning shears show a fault, turn them off and back on again.
If the problem persists, please contact your dealer.
MAINTENANCE
** For all these operations you must disconnect the pruning shears.
Blade sharpening**
Sharpening every 2 hours
GOOD SHARPENING BAD SHARPENING¢
Sharpening must be done on the flat, on the 2 red slanted lines, in order to
keep the same angle of penetration throughout.| If sharpening is only done on
the cutting edge, after a few sharpening operations, the fine section of the
blade will disapear and you will lose the angle of penetration.
---|---
GOOD PENETRATION
Results:
- A clean cut
- Increased cutting capacity
- Improved cutting speed
- Greater autonomy
- Reduced mechanical fatigue
- Blade’s improved life expectancy
- Normal motor temperature
- Higher yield
BAD PENETRATION
Results:
- Leaves strips of bark which get stuck in the blade
- Reduced cutting capability
- Requires more energy even for simple cuts
- Uses more electricity therefore less autonomy
- Greater mechanical strain
- Blade wears out quicker
- More overheating
- Time wasted
To optimise your blades to the maximum and obtain a better yield from your ELECTROCOUP, we recommend using our A48v3 blade sharpener. You will also save considerable time in your daily sharpening.
Lubrication
**** For all these operations you must disconnect the pruning shears.
Lubricate at least twice per day (early morning and early afternoon).
For correct lubrication the pruning shear blade must be unlocked. To do this:
- Use the tool to unlock the bolt and the nut.
- Place the spray can nozzle in the lubricating cap channel. Hold the spray can upright and then lubricate.
- Once lubrication is complete, adjust the tightening of the nut until the tool clicks.
- Lock the bolt and carry out the blade tightness check procedure.
Blade tightening
**** For all these operations you must disconnect the pruning shears.
Check the blade tightening every morning.| If the blade is correctly tightened
you should be able to close the pruning shears manually (without forcing).
A well-tightened blade should not move from left to right.
---|---
To adjust the tightness:
-
Use the tool to unlock the bolt.
You do not need to remove the bolt. -
Use the special tool provided and adjust the nut tension until the tool clicks.
-
Lock the bolt and then check the tightness using the above procedure.
Note: It is possible to have a slight movement in the direction of blade closure. This movement is normal and may be caused by the gap between the rack and pinion teeth.
Changing the blade
For all these operations you must disconnect the pruning shears.
- Using the phillips head tip on the tool, unscrew the two n°1 screws and remove cover n°2.
- Using the other tip of the special tool, remove screw n°3 and the elastomer washer n°4.
- Again using the special tool, remove screw n°5 and washer n°6.
- Remove the blade n°7. Replace the blade.
- If necessary, clean around the pinion (warning: do not use chemicals).
- Fit the new blade on the pruning shears.
- Fit washer n°6 then screw and adjust the tightness of bolt n°5 until the tool clicks (see page 16).
- Fit elastomer washer n°4 on screw n°3 and tighten screw n°3.
- If necessary, lubricate the blade teeth using graphite grease.
- Fit cover n°2 on the pruning shears and screw both n°1 screws.
Cleaning and disinfecting the cutting head
The cutting head can be cleaned to remove any residue (sap, etc.).
To do this, we recommend using the INFACO ecological spray can reference
B500N.
It is also possible to disinfect the cutting head to prevent any diseases
spreading on the wood.
To do this, we recommend avoiding the use of corrosive products that could
damage the device.
