Dual Path (LAN + Cellular) Communicator with with serial port interface for Texecom Premier and Elite panels and Paradox 17×8, SP, MG and EVO panels

Connecting the communicator to the alarm panel

  • (+) 12VDC Power Supply
  • (-) Ground
  • Rx, Tx For optional integration with supported panels via serial port
  • IN1 Status
  • IN2 Alarm
  • IN3 Tamper
  • IN4 Panic
  • IN5 Alarm
  • IN6 Alarm
  • IN7 Alarm
  • IN8 Alarm

WARNING: The wiring should be done only when the panel and the communicator are disconnected from the powerline!

  •  Connect the antenna to the device and place the antenna outside of the alarm panel’s box
  •  Connect + and – of the communicator to 12V-15V DC power supply

LED Indicator

  •  Slow flashing – trying to establish connection
  •  Constantly On – connection established at good signal level
  •  Constantly On, blinking every 10 secs – connection established at low signal level
  •  Fast flashing – transferring data

Connecting the communicator to the LAN network

  • Connect the device to a DHCP enabled router via an Ethernet cable. It will automatically get a dynamic IP address
  •  External IP address or router port redirections are NOT needed

Selecting the model of the alarm panel (when using the serial port

interface)

  •  Enter in the RControl Administrative website. Open the “Device Dashboard” and navigate to “Advanced Settings”
  •  Check the “Enable Online Settings” checkbox and press “Get Current Settings” (the device should be powered and connected)
  •  From the “COM 1”-> “Events” drop box menu select the alarm panel’s model
  •  Click “Save” to confirm the changes

Configuring a backup of the alarm events (when using the serial port

interface)

  • Configure a PGM of the panel to be activated (switch to ground) in case of any alarm event (refer to the panel’s installer manual)
  •  Wire that PGM to IN2 of the communicator (programmable input, preconfigured as Alarm)

Configuring Texecom alarm panels

(when using the serial port interface)

You must program the UDL password on the Texecom panel. Programming the UDL Password on Premier Elite panels:

  •  Enter in the programming menu with the engineers code (default 1234)

  •  Navigate to “UDL/Digi Options” and press “Yes” or “√” to enter

  •  Navigate to “UDL options” and enter the menu by pressing “Yes” or “√”

  •  Navigate to “UDL Password” and press “NO” or “X” to edit the password

  •  Enter the default UDL password 1234.
    Programming a UDL Password on Premier panels:

  •  Enter in the programming menu with the engineers code (1234) + “menu” + “9”

  •  Enter “76” to access “Download menu” and “2” for “UDL password”

  •  Enter the default UDL password 1234.

NOTE! If you configure an UDL password on the panel different than 1234, you need to specify the same password also in the settings of the communicator:

  •  Enter in the RControl Administrative website and navigate to “Device Dashboard”
  •  Click on “Advanced Settings” and Check the “Enable Online Settings” checkbox
  • Press “Get Current Settings” (the device should be powered and connected)
  •  Change the “Pass1” in “COM 1” section to correspond to the new UDL password Click on Save to confirm the changes

Events reporting to end users via a smartphone

  •  Download the RControl mobile application on your Android or iOS from the links below
  •  Login with the end user credentials provided within this installation manual
  •  It is recommended to change the User name and Password after the first login

With the RControl mobile application the end user can:

  • Monitor the current status of the alarm panel
  •  Get real-time notifications
  •  View events log up to one year back in time
  •  Remotely Arm/Disarm the alarm system (optional
