Safety and Use Guide
Please read this guide completely before using. Improper handling may result
in product damage, an accident, or burns from hot water. Please keep this
guide for future reference.
ONLY use Prismo with the AeroPress® Coffee Maker.
Do NOT use Prismo with other coffee plungers or similar products.
Important Safety Notes
- Check your Prismo to ensure all pieces are accounted for and attached correctly with all tabs locked together on the AeroPress®. Do not use if parts are missing.
- Do not use Prismo if you see signs of cracking, chipping, denting, or any other abnormality.
- Keep Prismo away from children while brewing.
- Do not use with thin or fragile glassware – Prismo creates a large amount of pressure and could potentially break the glass when enough force is applied.
- Do no use with other fragile or narrow drinkware.
- Make sure Prismo is securely attached to the AeroPress® Coffee Maker to ensure the product seals before brewing. All tabs need to be fully locked together on the AeroPress®. If leaking of hot water or coffee occurs during normal use, this indicates improper installation or an issue with Prismo. Please stop use immediately.
- Do not put in the microwave.
- While brewing, Prismo and your brewing vessel may become hot. Please use with caution when handling. If product feels too hot, use an oven mitt to handle.
- Use caution placing Prismo on top of mugs or serving carafes as there is a risk of AeroPress® Coffee Maker and Prismo falling over and causing burn injury.
- Prismo creates a stream of hot coffee/tea. Do not aim the vessel’s brewing contents at anyone or anything other than a serving or drinking vessel.
Use Instructions
Preparation Before Use:
-
Apply dish soap to a soft sponge. Wash all parts thoroughly.
Cleaning and Maintenance: -
Prismo is top-rack dishwasher safe.
-
For hand washing parts, use only dish soap. Do not use chlorine, bleach, or other chemicals to clean. Let air or towel dry thoroughly.
-
Using a coarse sponge, brush, or another rough surface will scratch the finish of Prismo. Use only a soft sponge.
-
Always wash Prismo with warm soapy water in between EVERY use. Failure to wash the product will clog the filter, resulting in an increase in effort during brew.
Use Guide:
- Take care to place Prismo’s metal filter “right-side-up” with the Fellow logo facing you.
- If Prismo is clean and creates too much pressure, try using a coarser grind.
- The metal filter on Prismo’s gasket is not removable. Attempts to remove the gasket may result in damage.
