Combining iconic design, Voice Isolation Technology and advanced DSP features such as Auto Level Mode, Digital Pop per Stopper , and Real-time Denoiser, the MV6 makes pro-level sound even more accessible. The MV6 features a USB-C output for connectivity to any PC, Mac, phone, or tablet and a 3.5mm headphone output for real-time monitoring of your sound.

features are turned on by default, so you can unbox, plug in, and go:
- Auto Level Mode: With our state-of-the-art Auto Level Mode, your MV6 intelligently adjusts microphone gain in real-time based on your distance from the microphone and volume level for consistent sound at all times. Whether you’re in the heat of an intense gaming session or quietly chatting with your followers on stream, the MV6 guarantees perfect audio levels at all times.
- Digital Popper Stopper™: Inspired by our acclaimed MV7+, the Digital Popper Stopper™ technology effectively eliminates harsh plosive sounds, delivering clear, distraction-free audio without needing a physical pop filter.
- Real-time Denoiser: Our intelligent DSP technology within the MV6 removes unwanted background noise, from humming fans to whirring air conditioners to ensure only your voice is captured and nothing else.

- Plug the included USB-C cable into your MV6.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to your compatible laptop, phone, or tablet.
- Plug your headphones into the monitor output.
Quick Setup with MOTIV Mix

Use the USB-C cable to plug the microphone into your computer.
The LED panel on the MV6 will pulse when the connection is made. -
Download MOTIV Mix at http://www.shure.com/MOTIVMix.
Your computer may request permission to use the external device the first time the app is opened. -
Select your microphone from the Sources panel.
Access customized controls for your MOTIV microphone via the settings gear icon in MOTIV Mix.

The MOTIV Mix Desktop App
MOTIV Mix is a robust Mac and Windows application that allows you to configure a microphone, record sounds, and save audio recordings from any microphone connected to your computer. For a full description of the features and capabilities of MOTIV Mix, see the MOTIV Mix user guide.
Use the MOTIV Mix desktop app to quickly adjust settings on the MV6. To adjust MV6 settings in MOTIV Mix, select the gear icon next to the microphone name or in the input panel on the mixer. The device stores the most recently used settings for quick setup.
Mic Setup in MOTIV Mix
MOTIV Mix enables you to change the settings on your MV6 to match your
application perfectly. Auto Level mode automatically adjusts gain in the
moment for clear, quality output. Auto Level mode is the default setting on
MV6. For a more detailed control of settings, Manual mode allows you to
customize settings to fit your specific application.
- Mute/Unmute Mute and unmute the MV6 in MOTIV Mix. The MV6 can also be muted or unmuted by touching the mute button.
- Mute Lock Select the lock icon to lock or unlock the microphone mute status. While locked, the microphone will remain muted or unmuted. When Mute Lock is enabled, the mute button will flash red three times when touched.
- Mute Lock doesn’t persist through a power cycle and will turn off when the MV6 restarts or is unplugged and plugged back in.
- Firmware Update When a new firmware update is available, select the Firmware Update Available button to update the device.
- Gain Auto level mode automatically adjusts gain applied to the microphone. Manual mode gives full control over the microphone gain. Use the slider to adjust microphone gain in Manual mode.
- Monitor Mix Move the sliders to adjust the levels of mic and PC sound sources in the headphones connected to the device.
- Tone Adjust the tone of the MV6 between Dark, Natural, and Bright by moving the slider.
- Real-time Denoiser Enable or disable the Real-time Denoiser DSP to help reduce unwanted noise.
- Digital Popper Stopper™ Enable or disable the Popper Stopper DSP to detect and reduce plosives.
- High Pass Filter Reduce unwanted low-frequency rumbling noise with a high pass filter at 75 Hz or 150 Hz.
- Reset to Defaults Select Reset to Defaults to reset your device to factory settings. This will remove all changes you have made to the device.
Auto Level Mode, Real-time Denoiser, and the Digital Popper Stopper are optimized for speech. When using the MV6 for other applications, like singing or playing a musical instrument, disable Auto Level Mode, Real-time Denoiser, and the Digital Popper Stopper for the best recording.
LED Mute Button
Touch the mute button to mute or unmute the microphone. When the device is
muted, the LED microphone icon will be solid red.
When Mute Lock is engaged in MOTIV Mix, the mute button will flash red three
times when touched.
LED Behavior
- Pulses amber: Powering on. The MV6 is connecting to the computer, phone, or tablet.
- Turns green USB-C connection success. On successful connection to the computer, phone, or tablet, the mute button will turn green.
- Continues pulsing amber: USB-C connection failure. If the microphone is unable to connect to the computer, phone, or tablet, the mute button will continue to pulse amber. Unplug the microphone and plug back in.
- Turns red: MV6 is muted. When the device is muted, the mute button will turn red.
- Flashes red 3 times when touched: MV6 is mute locked and can only be unmuted in MOTIV Mix. When mute lock is enabled in MOTIV Mix, the mute button flashes red 3 times when touched.
- Flashes amber quickly: Firmware update. While the microphone firmware is updating, the LED panel quickly flashes amber. Keep the microphone connected until the firmware update is complete.
- Flashes amber and green: Identify. When the device is identified from MOTIV Mix, the mute button will flash amber and green.
- Flashes red continuously: Error. The mute button will flash red when an error occurs.
Firmware Update
Take advantage of additional features and design enhancements by updating the
firmware in MOTIV Mix, MOTIV for iOS and Android, or MOTIV Video for iOS and
Android when prompted.
In MOTIV Mix, when a firmware update is available, the Firmware Update
Available button will appear in the settings panel of your MV6. Select the
button to update your firmware.
Leave the MV6 plugged in until the firmware update is complete.
Contact Shure Service and Repair if you experience any issues.
Keep equipment connected during updates
Keep your MOTIV device connected to your computer or mobile device when
updating to ensure that there are no update issues.
