Flamco HFC00166 Prescor
General
Prescor pressure relief valve (A) to protect closed heated and chilled water systems against excessive pressure.
Application
- The safety valve has to be used in a closed heating or cooling system. (glycol max. 50%).
- Only use the valve in a dry and frost free location.
- Min./Max. system temperature: -10 °C/+120 °C.
Safety
- Check whether the maximum capacity and the opening pressure that is indicated on the valve match the values of the system.
- Beware of steam from the exhaust: Risk of scalding!
Installation
The following points are important to ensure the correct operation of the valve and the safety of the installation:
- The installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel. Comply with local legislation and guidelines.
- Fit the valve close to the boiler (E).
- Carry out the installation on a system that is not under pressure.
- Carry out the installation on a system that is not under pressure.
- Only fit the valve once the pipes have been thoroughly flushed and brought under pressure.
- Fit the valve to the installation using the correct wrench appropriate for the nut (C).
- Do not weld or solder in the vicinity of the valve.
- Fit the valve close to the boiler (E).
- Pay attention to the arrow that indicates the flow direction.
- Do not place a circuit breaker between the boiler (E) and the valve (A).
- The diameter of the inlet and outlet pipes should not be smaller than the inlet and outlet connections on the valve.
- Ensure there is a free out-flow opening (circuit breaker installation) with a fall and directly connected to the outlet of the valve (e.g. Flamco tundish (F).
- Never fit the valve with the inlet or outlet pointing upwards (G-H).
Maintenance and service
- Visually inspect the valve once a year for signs of leakage. Lifting the valve and flushing it through thoroughly will often resolve any leaks. If no leak is found, it is not necessary to lift the valve.
- During a periodic inspection (e.g. once every four years), the valve should be lifted to check its functionality.
- If the leak continues after lifting the valve and flushing it through the valve must be replaced.
- The Prescor valve is a safety product.
- We therefore recommend that it is replaced at least every 10 years.
- If the valve regularly blows off during use, consult the installation specialist.
Removal
Release the pressure from the system. There is a danger of scalding! Hot water can flow out of the system. Remove the valve.
Environment
Comply with local legislation when disposing of the valve. According to the directives for pressure equipment 2014/68/EU. See also www.flamcogroup.com
