Risks Caused by Vibration

Battery & Charger Safety Instructions

Training

  • Read the operating instructions carefully. Make sure that you are familiar with the adjustment elements and the correct usage of this machine.
  • Never allow children or other people who are not familiar with the operating instructions to operate this lawnmower. Regional legislation may specify the minimum permitted age of the user.
  • Never mow when other people, particularly children or animals, are in the vicinity.
  • Remember that the operator or user is responsible for accidents involving other people or property.

Preparation

  • When operating this machine, always wear sturdy shoes and long trousers. Never operate this machine with bare feet or in lightweight sandals. Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or clothes with hanging cords or belts.
  • Before mowing, check the surrounding area and remove all objects that may be caught and thrown up by the machine.
  • Before using, carry out a visual check to make sure that the cutting blade, fixing bolts, and the cutting unit as a whole is not worn or damaged. Handling

  • Only mow in daylight or with sufficient artificial lighting.
  • Avoid using the tool when the grass is wet.
  • Ensure that you are standing firmly when operating on slopes.
  • Only operate the tool at a walking speed.
  • Mow across the slope, never up or down slopes.
  • Be particularly careful when changing direction on a slope.
  • Do not mow on very steep slopes.
  • Be particularly careful when turning the mower or pulling it towards you.
  • Stop the cutting blade when the mower must be tilted to transport it over surfaces that are not grass and when the mower is being moved to and from the area to be mowed.
  • Never use the mower if the protective mechanisms or protective mesh are damaged. Never use without protective mechanisms, for example, deflector plates and/or grass collection equipment.
  • Start or activate the safety start switch carefully in accordance with the instructions stated in the manual. Make sure there is sufficient space between your feet and the cutting blade.
  • When running or starting up the motor, the mower should not be tilted unless the mower needs to be lifted for the process. If this is the case, only tip it as far as is absolutely necessary and only lift the side that faces away from the user.
  • Do not start the motor if you are standing in front of the ejection outlet.
  • Never put hands or feet onto or under rotating parts. Keep away from the ejection outlet.
  • Never lift or carry a mower with the motor running.
  • Switch the motor off and remove the circuit breaker. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a standstill:
  • Whenever you leave the machine unattended;
  • Before you remove blockages or clogs in the ejection outlet;
  • Before you check, clean, or carry out work on the mower;
  • If a foreign object is hit.
  • Look for damage to the mower and carry out any necessary repairs before you start it up again and continue to use the mower.
  • If the mower starts to vibrate in an unusual way, immediately check on it.
  • Look for damage. Ask a specialist to carry out all necessary repairs to damaged parts.
  • Make sure that all nuts, bolts, and screws are tightened firmly.

Maintenance and Storage

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Unpacking

  • Carefully remove this product and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included.
  • Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
  • Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.
  • If any parts are damaged or missing, please contact customer service for assistance.

Mounting the Handles
Note: All mounting steps must be performed on both sides.

  1. Release the clamping lever Os).
  2. Unfold the lower handle (3) as shown.
  3. Observe the installation direction and move the handle to the required position: Lugs 116) must engage as

  5. If the clamping lever does not safely clamp, open the clamping lever again, rotate in a clockwise direction, and tighten it to the limit stop.

  7. Screw-in the upper handle (2: using the carriage bolts V) and tensioning lever nuts (1_?; onto the lower

  9. If the clamping lever does not safely clamp, open the clamping lever again, rotate in a clockwise direction, and tighten it to the limit stop.

Mounting & Fitting the Collection Bag

  1. Attach the protective plastic straps 0 onto the support rod of the collection bag.

  3. Lift the safety flap 7 .1 with one hand and hold it.
  4. With the other hand, hold the collection bag:4; by the handle and hook it in from above.
  5. Make sure that the collection bag is securely engaged.

Setting the Cutting Height
IMPORTANT! Before adjusting the cutting height, make sure the motor is switched off and the circuit breaker has been pulled.

The cutting height can be set to several different heights (cutting heights: 0.98-2.56 in/25-65 mm).
To set the cutting height on your lawnmower, pull out the cutting height adjustment lever 5‘., move the lever to the left or right, and let the lever slot back into place. Make sure that the lever engages properly.

BATTERY PACK OPERATION

Charging + Installing the Battery Pack

WARNING! Risk of injury! Comply with all safety instructions when handling rechargeable devices.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do not allow the battery pack to fully discharge.
Note: The Li-ion battery pack can be charged at any time without affecting the lifetime of this unit. Interrupting the charging process will not damage the battery pack.

The battery packs must be charged prior to the first start-up (charging time: 120 minutes).

  1. Press the push-lock buttons (1Z on the two sides of the battery pack and remove the battery pack from the machine.
  2. Insert the battery pack into the charger.
  3. Plug the charger into the power supply. The charging status is displayed by the charger indicators 13). When the flashing green indicator turns solid green, the battery pack is fully charged.
  4. Fit the battery pack into the machine. Make sure it clicks into place correctly.

The charger is connected to the main unit and is ready for use. There is no battery pack in the charger.
OFF| Quick Blink (2 Hz)| Low-current safety charging
As the battery pack voltage is under 15 V, the charger is in a gentle charging mode, and the charging current is below 0.5 A. This helps maximize battery life.
OFF| Slow Blink (1 Hz)| High-current charging
As the battery pack voltage is above 15 V, the charger is in quick charge mode, and the charging current is at 2.3-2.4 A.
Important! The actual charging time may vary slightly from the stated charging time depending on the existing battery charge.
OFF| ON| The battery is charged and ready to use. The battery is fully charged and ready to use.
Action: Take the battery pack out of the charger. Disconnect the charger from the main unit.
Quick Blink (2 Hz)| OFF| Fault
Charging is no longer possible. The battery pack may be defective.
Action: Never charge a defective battery pack. Take the battery pack out of the charger.
Slow Blink (1 Hz)| OFF| Temperature fault
The battery pack is too hot (e.g. due to direct sunshine/prolonged use) or too cold (below 40 °F/4 °C).
Action: Remove the battery pack and keep it at room temperature (approx. 68 °F/20 °C) for 3 hours.

Checking Remaining Battery Power

Press the button 11.

  1. The remaining battery capacity is indicated by the 4 LED lights (19). The battery indicator is shown below:

OPERATING YOUR LAWNMOWER

Check before starting!
DANGER! Risk of injury! This product should only be operated if no defects are found. Ensure that any defective parts are replaced before the product is used again.

Check the condition of the product:

  • Check whether there are any visible defects.
  • Check whether all parts of the product are firmly attached.

Power On/Off the Lawn Mower
Note: This product cannot be switched on without the circuit breaker.

  1. Open the battery compartment cover and slide the battery pack down to lock it into position.
  2. Insert the circuit breaker .2.1 (pay attention to the fit).
  3. Press and hold down the safety start button (a) while pulling the throttle lever (1″ toward you.
  4. Release the safety start button.
  5. The unit will switch itself on with approximately 2 seconds of delay.
  6. To switch off, release the throttle lever.

Mowing

WARNING! Risk of injury! Before starting work, check the area and remove all objects which may be kicked up by the unit.

  • Guide the mower at a slow, even pace (walking speed) and with as straight a path as possible.
  • Mow across the face of a slope, and never up and down. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on a slope.
  • Always be sure of your footing. If you feel like you are losing your balance, release the throttle lever
  • Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches, or embankments, as you could lose your footing or balance.
  • Do not mow a slope with an angle of greater than 15°, as determined by using the slope gauge.
  • Do not mow wet or damp grass. Unstable footing can lead to slipping.

Important Notes

  • Always work at right angles to the slope.
  • Use overlapping paths to produce an even cutting pattern.
  • Cut longer grass with a greater cutting height initially, then cut crosswise using the desired cutting height.
  • Verify that the lawn is free from stones, sticks, wires, and other objects that could damage the blade These objects could be accidentally thrown by the mower in any direction and could cause serious personal injury to the operator and to others. In order to prevent electrical shock, do not operate the mower in damp or wet conditions.
  • Do not mow in circles. Travel back and forth across the lawn.
  • When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and proper discharge of the clippings.
  • If the air flap 4 closes, the collection bag is full and must be emptied.

Emptying the Collection Bag

  • Stop the mower, allow the blade to completely stop, and remove the battery packs.
  • Lift the safety flap.
  • Lift the collection bag by its handle to remove it from the mower.
  • Empty grass clippings.
  • Lift the safety flap and reinstall it as described above in this manual.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

DANGER! Risk of injury! Carry out the maintenance work described here in person. Improper maintenance work can damage the machine and lead to injuries.
Before carrying out any maintenance or cleaning work, ensure that the blade is not rotating and that the circuit breaker has been disconnected.

Before Each Use
Carry out a general function visual check. Check all screw connections and tighten if necessary.

Cleaning the Unit
Clean this unit immediately after every use, as dried grass clumps can harden and are very difficult to remove.

  • Remove grass remains with a brush and a plastic scraper if required (do not use sharp implements).
  • Remove deposits on the wheels.
  • Wipe the unit clean with a damp cloth.
  • Never clean the unit with water or a high-pressure jet.

Changing the Blade

CAUTION! Risk of injury! Never touch the cutting edge of the blade. Wear gloves at all times when working with the blade.

Removing

  • Remove the battery pack.
  • Loosen the blade screw 8 using a 0.55 in (14 mm) hexagon spanner.

Installing

NOTICE! Risk of damage to the device! Pay attention to the rotation direction of the blade (indicated by arrows marked on the blade).

  1. Observe the installation direction: blade must fit, as shown, onto the cut-outs ®.
  2. Carefully attach the blade g.
  3. Tighten the blade screw using a 0.55 in (14 mm) hexagon spanner (35-40 Nm).

STORAGE &TRANSPORTATION

Storage

DANGER! Risk of injury! Store the unit in such a way that it cannot be started by unauthorized persons. Ensure that no one is able to hurt themselves on this stored unit.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the device! Do not store in an unprotected or damp environment.

  1. Remove the battery and the circuit breaker from the lawnmower.
  2. Clean the lawnmower as described in the cleaning section.
  3. Inspect the mower carefully for worn, loose, or damaged parts. Check connections and screws, and tighten if necessary. Pay special attention to the mower blade and replace/sharpen it if it shows signs of wear.
  4. Store the mower indoors in a dry, clean, and cool area, out of reach of children. Do not store the unit next to corrosive materials, such as fertilizer or rock salt.
  5. .The handle on your lawnmower can be completely folded for compact storage. Start by loosening the clamping levers on each side of the upper handle and folding down the upper handle. Next, release the clamping levers for the lower handle until you are able to collapse the handle completely.

Transportation
During transportation, try to use the original packaging, if possible.

DISPOSAL
