SAFETY WARNINGS
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
General Safety Instructions
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
- WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
- If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent.
- Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
- Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
- Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
- This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.

Special Safety Instructions
- ATTENTION. Hot surface. The surface can become hot during and after use
- Do not use the device connected to an external timer or a separate remote control system.
- The electrical safety of the appliance is only guaranteed if it is connected to an efficient earth installation as specified in current electric safety regulations. The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage resulting from a lack of earth installation.
- We strongly advise against the use of adapters, extension plugs and/or leads. In the case of these being necessary, use only simple or multiple adapters and extension leads which conform to current safety regulations, taking care not to exceed the voltage limit indicated on the adapter and/or extension lead.
- Warning: When the sandwich maker is switched on, the inside surfaces can reach extremely high temperatures and can cause serious burns. Do not touch the appliance while it is switched on. It should be taken the necessary measures to avoid the risk of burns, fire and other damage to persons or property by contact with the sides or top of the device during use or its cooling.
- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug or the appliance itself is damaged.
- Do not let the mains cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop on which the appliance stands.
- Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces.
- Do not let the appliance operate unattended.
- Always preheat the cooking plates before you put any sandwiches between them.
- Put the appliance on a flat, stable surface with sufficient free space around it
- Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning the appliance or putting it away.
- Never touch the cooking plates with sharp or abrasive items, as they damage the non-stick surface.
- Always unplug the appliance after use.

- Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant surface.
- In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around.
- This appliance is not a grill and is not intended for preparing other foods than sandwiches.

- The bread can burn, so never use the sandwich maker near or below curtains and other inflammable materials.
USING THE SANDWITCH TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME
Before using the first time, wipe the surface of the plate with a damp cloth
and dry it with a cloth, tissue etc. Then drop some cooking oil or butter on
the plate and preheat it 5-10 minutes. This operation is only necessary when
using for the first time. Cook a bread slice in each gap of the device before
the first use. These slices should be discarded.
HOW TO USE IT
- Plug the connector and immediately the red light will be on. The green light will turn on once reached the optimum temperature. Close the lid and prepare the sandwich while the device gets to that point.
- Place the sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and close the top.
- While toasting, the upper lid would be a little bulging, don’t open it halfway.
- During use, the green light will turn on and off. This indicates that the thermostat is working correctly.
- Leave the sandwich to toast for about two minutes. The toasting time depends on individual preference.
- The baking section should be always closed in the intervals between baking
- Open the lid and remove sandwich using a wooden spatula. Never use metal knife as this may damage the non-sticking coating.
- After using, pull out the plug and open the upper lid to let it gets cool.
WARNING: The plates may become very hot during use. Be very careful when using the sandwich toaster.
CLEANING
- Unplug the sandwich maker. Leave it open and wait until it is completely cold
- Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents and materials, as they damage the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
- Never immerse the appliance in water nor rinse it under the tap.
- Remove excess oil from the cooking plates with a piece of kitchen paper before you remove them.
- Remove any sticky food residues (e.g. solidified cheese) from the cooking plates with a wooden spatula. Do not use metal, sharp or abrasive tools.
- Clean the plates with a sponge or a soft damp cloth. Then dry the surface.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Then dry the surface.
Disposal of old electrical appliances.
The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed
of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be
collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the
materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the
environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you
of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be
separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or
retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of their old
appliance.
