General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.

  • The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.

  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own.
    Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

  • Use only original spare parts.

  • Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instructions”.

Children and Frail Individuals
  • In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

WARNING:
Don’t let small children play with foils for danger of suffocation!

  • This device is not intended to be used by individuals (including children) who have restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities and/or insufficient knowledge and/or experience, unless they are supervised by an individual who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions on how to use the device.
  • Children should be supervised at all times in order to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Special safety information for this unit

WARNING:

  • Only use the appliance with the appropriate base.
  • Never place the appliance on a source of heat.

WARNING: Risk of burning!
When you remove the jug after heating, the hotplate on the base and the bottom of the jug are still hot!

Intended use

This appliance is intended for
• Warming and frothing milk.
• Preparing hot chocolate
• warming sauces
It is intended for the use in private households and similar applications such as
• in staff kitchens of shops, offices and similar work places;
• for guests in hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
• in B&Bs.
It is not intended for applications in agricultural properties.
The appliance is only to be used as described in the user manual. Do not use the appliance for any commercial purposes.
Any other use is considered as not intended and may lead to damage of property or even to personal injury.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage which may occur through incorrect use.

Unpacking the appliance

  1. Remove the packaging of the appliance.
  2. Remove all packaging material such as plastic film, filler material, cable ties and box packaging.
  3. Check that all the parts are in the box.
  4. Do not operate the appliance if package contents is incomplete or appear damaged. Return it immediately to the dealer.

NOTE:
There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

Instructions

Location

A skid-proof, even surface is suitable as installation location.

Electrical connection
  1. Ensure that your mains power corresponds with the specifications of the appliance. The specifications are printed on the type label.
  2. Connect the mains cable to correctly installed and earthed socket.
Switching on / off
  • You can turn the appliance on with the function keys. The buttons light up to indicate the function.
  • The appliance will turn off automatically. The turn-off time varies depending on the jug contents and function. (approx. 4 minutes)
  • If you would like to abort the process beforehand, press the previously selected function key one more time. Alternatively you can remove the jug from the base

**NOTE:
** When you remove the jug from the base following operation, the button with the symbol will flash. Once you have set the jug back onto the base, the flashing will stop.

Button Functions

Cold frothing or stirring
Hot stirring, e.g. sauces, milk or drinking chocolate
Frothing / heating milk or drinking chocolate

Assembly disassembly of mixing attachments

You will find the accessories on the underside of the base.

  • Select a mixing attachment and press it onto the shaft at the bottom of the jug.
  • To detach the mixing attachments, pull them upwards.

NOTE:
The mixing attachments can be detached more easily if you remove the jug from the base beforehand.

Capacity

The jug holds between 150 and 250 ml. Refer to the scale on the jug.

Frothing milk

CAUTION:
Observe the capacity marking MAX, otherwise the milk will foam over.

NOTE:

  • For optimum results use milk with 3.5% fat content and fill in 225 ml.
  • Milk with 1.5% fat content and soy milk or lactose-free milk does not froth as well.

Heating up drinking chocolate

CAUTION:

  • Only add the cocoa powder after the milk, otherwise the mixing attachment will clog up otherwise.
  • Do not fill above the MAX mark, otherwise the beverage will overflow.

Operation

Use a mixing attachment and the function key for the application according to the following table.

  1. Fit a mixing attachment.
  2. Fill the liquid into the jug.
  3. Put on the lid.
  4. Press a function key.
  5. Either wait for the automatic shut-off or pressthe function key again to cancel the operation.
  6. If you want to end the operation, disconnect the mains plug.

Cleaning

WARNING:

  • Always pull the power supply plug before cleaning.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down.
  • Never immerse the base in water for cleaning. It could result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

  • Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive items.
  • Never use sharp or scouring cleaning materials.

Base

Clean the base with a clean cloth from the outside, without any additional cleaning agents.

Jug, lid and mixing attachments
  1. Always clean the jug, the lid and the mixing attachment immediately after use.
  2. Remove the used mixing attachment from the jug by pulling it upwards.
  3. Only rinse the parts by hand with a soft cloth while adding a mild dishwashing detergent.
  4. You may remove ingrained dirt with a nylon brush.
  5. Then rinse with clean water and dry off the parts.
  6. Stow the mixing attachments in the compartments on the underside of the base so that they do not get lost.

Storage

  • Clean the device as described and allow to dry completely.
  • We recommend that you keep the appliance in the original packaging if the appliance will be not used for long periods.
  • Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a dry, well ventilated place.

Troubleshooting

Malfunction Possible Cause Remedy
The appliance does not work/the motor does not turn. Does the jug stand

properly on the base?
Is the appliance switched on? Is the mains socket defective?| Check if the jug is properly placed on the base.
Try a different socket.
The milk doesnot foam| Is frothing at- tachment “2a” properly attached| Check the attach- ment.
Is the attachment blocked?
Is there too little milk in the can?| There should be between 75 and 225 ml in the can.
The appliance turns off before the allotted time during repeated hot stirring or frothing| The appliance has not cooled down.| Leave the appliance to cool down for 2 minutes.
You may shorten this time by rins- ing the jug with cold water.
