Power Door Installation

WARNING:

  • Consult your local authorities for building code requirements
  • Power should only be supplied to shed temporarily by an extension cord. This product is NOT intended for permanent electrical
  • The extension cord must be connected INSIDE the shed.
  • It is recommended that the extension cord beratedat20A@ 7201/ with ground, using i4AWG minimum wire Size, and be rated for outdoor use.
  • The extension cord must be connected to a grounded outlet.
  • Adhere to manufacturer’s requirements for ventilation, flame retardancyand other safety concerns when using these or similar products in or near your shed: paint, glue, chemicals, flammables, electrical appliances, heat sources, etc.
  • Electrical equipment should NOT to be left unattended.

Before You Begin

  • Consult your local authorities for any permits required to construct shed. Prior to the construction of your shed check with the local building code official to review any required permits or building limitations.
  • A level and sturdy foundation is required before shed construction can begin. Site preparation information is available on pages 10-11. A foundation that differs from the suggestions within this manual could prevent proper assembly and may damage parts.
  • Read instructions thoroughly prior to assembly. This kit contains parts that can be damaged if assembled incorrectly or in the wrong sequence.
  • Please follow instructions. Manufacturer is not responsible for replacing parts ost or damaged due to incorrect asse rnbly.
  • Assistance is required during entire assembly.

  • DO NOT stand, sit, or store items on storage shed roof.
  • Treat shed carefully in extreme temperatures.
  • Repair Or replace broken parts immediately.
  • Monufocturer not responsible for domoge caused by weather or misuse.
  • At regular intervals, inspect your shed to make sure that assembly integrity has been maintained.
  • Periodicol\y check thot the \ocotjon you hove chosen to set your shed still level. This kit contains parts with metal edges.
  • Please be careful when handling. Ifshed is empty and outdoors, place weight inside on floor to prevent tipping in high winds.

Shed Safety and Care

  • Hot items, such as recently used grills, blowtorches, etc., must not be stored in the shed.
  • Heavy articles should not be leaned against the walls, as this may cause panel distortion and permanent damage.
  • Keep roof clean Of snow and leaves.
  • The shed walls and roof sections have a textured exterior, much like vinyl home siding. Over time, dust may accumulate in the texture. When combined with moisture, this could encourage the growth of moss or mold on the shed. To maintain the look of your shed, we recommend cleaning it each year with mild soap and DO NOT use bleach, ammonia, or other caustic water. cleaners, and DO NOT use stiff bristle brushes. Failure to perform annual cleaning could result in permanent staining Of the plastic. This is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty.

Assembly Day Tips

  • Complete site preparation and foundation construction before unpacking parts and beginning assembly.
  • DO NOT attempt to assemble on a day with strong winds.
  • DO NOT attempt to assemble on days when temperature is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Set aside appropriate amount of time to completely assemble shed.
  • Make sure you have assistance nearby to lift and secure parts in place.
  • Wear light duty work gloves while assembling shed. Once roof is assembled, a flashlight may be of use when assembling smaller components inside shed.
  • Manufacturer provides extra hardware for small fasteners for customer convenience. In some cases, there will be extra small fasteners once the assembly is complete.

Note: This product contains parts that are used in different orientotions to construct the shed. Pleose take note of the orientation of the parts shown throughout this instruction monuol. Failure to follow instructions could result in damoge to parts. Craftsman is not responsible for replacing parts lost or damaged due to incorrect assembly.

Site Preparation and Platform Construction

Materials NOT supplied with CMXRSSC7750 Shed Kit.
Note: Site preporotjon is required for this shed. Placing the shed on o constructed foundation is required Without o constructed foundotion, settling will probob/y occur, causing distortion and domoge to the shed. Manufacturer is not responsible for rep/oc,ing ports damaged or property lost due to incorrect assembly. Warranty requires foundation.
Note: Complete the site preparotion ond foundation construction before unpocking ports ond beginning assembly.

To prepare your shed site, follow the steps below.

  1. Consult your local authorities for building codes and covenants before beginning foundation or erecting shed.
  2. Before any digging, check with local utilities to determine location of buried cables, pipes, etc,
  3. Decide which type of foundation you want:
    • Concrete slab, 4″ thick OR
    • Wood platform Use exterior grade wood.
    • Consult your local retailer for help to determine the best anchoring method for your particular installation.
    • The provided plans are sized for the minimum number of cuts to lumber and plywood.
  4. Prepare the building site:
    • The ground should slope away from the foundation area to provide drainage.
    • The foundation surface must be flat and level.
    • A vapor barrier should be provided to prevent excessive condensation in the shed.
    • Follow local building codes for a proper vapor barrier.
  5. Anchoring the shed to the foundation:
    • Consult your local retailer for help to determine the best anchoring method for your particular installation.
    • TO secure the shed to a concrete slab, use four (4) 3/8″ x 3″ anchor bolts and four (4) 3/8″ x 1 ” flat washers

Door-Pre-AssembIy

  • Peel film from both sides of left door window (R).
    Note : One side of h/m will soy “THIS SIDE OUT.” Moke sure this side faces Out when installing window.

  • Place gasket (P) and door window (R) into left door (J) channel. Secure with thirteen screws (NN), starting at corners DO NOT over tighten screws.
    Note: The cut portion of gasket (P) MUST be ossemb/ed on top ofdoor channel. Repeot for right door (K).CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-

  • At top interior side of left door (J), attach D-ring slide bolt (O) with four screws (DDD) through provided holes,

  • At bottom interior side of left door (J), attach D-ring slide bolt (O) with four screws (DDD) through provided holes.

Header-Pre-Assembly

  • Slide roof ridge beam bracket (V) under tabs on inside peak of front header (G) and secure with two screws (NN)
    DO NOT over tighten screws. Repeat for rear header (H).

  • Place vent screen (X) in front header (G). Secure through back of header with eight screws (NN). over tighten screws.
    DO NOT Repeat for rear header (H).

  • Lay front header (G) on ground with lettering side facing up. Place front header beam (U, 57″) into pocket on inside of front header (G). Attach with six screws (NN). DO NOT over tighten screws. Repeat for rear header (H) and rear header beam (U2, 62″).

Truss—Pre-AssembIy

  • Attach truss bracket (Z) to end of one truss leg (Y) with I ” hex head cap screw (KK) and nut (LL). Repeat for second truss leg (Y).
  • Attach truss cross beam (CC) to two truss legs (Y) using two hex head cap screws (JJ) and two nuts (LL). Stand truss and check cross beam is level. Repeat with second cross beam assembly.CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig-20
  • Place side adaptor bracket (8B) at end of left truss leg (Y). Secure adaptor bracket with one 2″ hex head cap screw (JJ) and one nut (LL). Repeat for Other truss leg.
    Note: DO NOT over tighten side odoptor brocket (BB) onto end Of truss legs (Y). This makes roofassembly difficult.

Skylight and Wall Pre-Assembly

  • Place skylight gasket (FF) into skylight (EE). Place skylight (EE) onto a left roof panel Secure from underside with eight screws (NN). Make sure rib on plastic parts is seated fully against gasket on skylight. Repeat for remaining left and both right roof panels (L, M)
  • Attach cord slide (l) to back right corner (E) with one ) and one screw (NN). See inside front cover of washer (QQ document for power cord information.

Shed Assembly—Walls

  • Push front floor (A) and rear floor (T) panels together and secure with six screws (N N).
    Note: Refer to pages 10 ond to secure floors to foundotion.

  • Align tab on bottom right side of front left corner (B) with slot on floor (A). Lower panel into slot and lock in place by sliding panel toward outside of floor.

  • Tip front left corner (B) outward slightly and bend corner hinge.

  • Tip front left corner (B) back to vertical position and align lower tabs on right side with slots in floor.
    Note: You will hear o Snop’when tab is fully engoged.

  • Align tabs on bottom of side panel (N) with slots along front and rear floors. Lower panel into slots and ock in place by sliding panel toward front corner.
    Note : Use 0 rubber mol\et to ‘push’ side pone/ (N) into locked position.

  • Secure side panel with four easy bolts (RR), working from (loor to roof. DO NOT use torque wrench. Use easy bolt easy driver (SS) and hand tighten. Easy bolt head will be flush when fully seated. DO NOT overtighten easy bolts.

  • Repeat Steps 15-20 for remaining panels.

Shed Assembly—Headers and Truss

  • Place front header (G) over door opening and fit two protruding support legs into pockets molded in front corners. Secure front header using two screws (NN) in each front corner.CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig-30

  • Place rear header (H) over back walls and fit four protruding support legs into pockets molded in back walls. Secure rear header using eight screws (NN).

  • Slide truss assembly into place. Secure with four screws (NN) in each side adaptor bracket

  • Raise ridge beam (S) up and into rear roof ridge beam bracket (V). Secure with one 2″ hex head cap screw (JJ) and one nut (LL). Repeat with front ridge beam bracket
    Note: Make sure open end Of ridge beom faces down.

  • Attach truss strap (DD) to side adapter bracket (8B) and truss leg (Y) with two screws (NN). Repeat for remaining truss strap.

  • Attach truss bracket (Z) to ridge beam (S) with one screw CNN).

Shed Assembly—Roof

  • Place the front roof peak (Q) onto a right roof panel (M). Secure with five rubber washers (UU) and five sealing screws (TT), Repeat for rear roof peak (W) and remaining right roof panel (M).
    Note: Rubber side ofwosher should be ogoinst plastic panel.

  • Before proceeding, locate and identify six front header tabs and six rear header tabs.

  • Slide left roof (L) down towards the Outside Of shed.

  • Repeat steps 30-32 for remaining left roof panel (L).

  • Slide right roof (M) with front roof peak (Q) down towards the outside Of shed.

  • Repeat steps 34-36 for remaining right roof panel (M) and rear roof peak (W)

  • Push down the right roof panels with roof peaks from outside. From inside shed, secure roof peaks to left roof panels together using ten rubber sealing washers (UU) and ten sealing screws

  • Pull down each lower corner Of roof from outside. From inside shed, attach tabs on right front corner (F) and side panel (N) to roof panel with four screws (NN).

  • Secure roof to both sides of roof truss using ten screws (NN). Each screw will attach at a corresponding screw boss on the roof. Make sure roof peak is secured (highest screw holes on roof truss).CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig-41

  • Raise roof support (AA) into position against roof. Slide roof support (AA) into front header. Secure roof support to underside of truss leg with one screw (NN).

  • Repeat steps 40 and 41 to attach bracket (AA).

  • Stand right door (K) upright with three hinge mounts facing right. Slide one metal hinge plate (II) up onto each hinge mount. Rotate hinges to outside of door.

  • With metal hinge plates in open position, slide one hinge over each hinge receptacle on inside of right front panel. For clority, il\ustrotion is shown with roof removed.

  • Secure each metal hinge plate with one screw (00) and one locking nut (PP). Repeat Steps 44-46 for left door (J).
    Note: For clority, illustrotion is shown with roofremoved.

  • Insert two screws (CCC) into door latch assembly (XX) and through right door. While holding plate in place on exterior of door, secure each screw with two washers (AAA) and two ocking nuts (BBB).

  • CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig45Insert screws (CCC) into left latch plate (WW) and through left door. While holding plate in place on exterior of door, secure each screw with two washers (AAA) and two locking nuts (BBB)

  • From the outside of doors, insert door handle (VV) stems into holes of left and right doors. On inside of doors, place washers (YY) on each door handle stem, and secure each with one screw (ZZ).CRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig-46

  • Lift upper D-ring (O) up to engage in front Of header. Turn D-ring to right for locked position.

  • Push lower O-ring (O) down to engage with hole in floor. Turn D-ring to right for locked position.

Power Door-installation

  • From the inside of the shed, locate the W.ver door. rnsen locking screw with Phillips head screwdriver and slide door up. From outside of shed, thread power cord through opening.
  • Slide door down to close, making sure cord is seated in notch at bottom. Tighten locking screw. Note: TO reduce the risk Ofe/ectric shock, use power strip indoors only. DO NOT plug into another relocatable power stripCRAFTSMAN-CMXRSSC7750-7-ft-x-7-ft-Storage-Shed-fig-48Attach a 5/16″ Irrk (not provided) to latch to properly secure shed.

CRAFTSMAN SHED IO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The manufacturer warrants to the original owner (purchaser) that the product will be free from defects in manufacturing or materials at the time of purchase. This warranty only applies to defects that cause a failure in the form, fit, or function of the product

Warranty Period:
The ten (10) year warranty period starts on the original date of purchase.

Warranty Remedy :
The manufacturer will in its sole discretion repair or replace only the parts that have failed due to a manufacturing or materials defect In the unlikely event the manufacturer determines the entire unit will need to be replaced, the manufacturer will in its sole discretion either replace the product or refund the original purchase price depreciated on a straight-line basis calculated by the time of ownership divided by the length of the warranty. Replacement parts may not be identical but will be of equal or greater quality To make a warranty claim, the original owner (purchaser) must submit the claim to the manufacturer within the products warranty period and provide proof of purchase along with a full description of the failure or defect and photos of the area of concern. The manufacturer may also require shipment of the defective part or product to them at the expense of the owner/purchaser for verification or quality control purposes as conditions of and prior to processing a warranty claim (except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise).

Warranty Limitations, Conditions and Exclusions:
The warranty is non-transferable and only valid to the original owner (purchaser). The warranty is only valid for new CRAFTSMAN products originally purchased directly from CRAF SMAN or one of its authorized resale channels. The warranty does not apply to items purchased in “open box”, “like newt “used; “damaged” or like condition. The warranty is voided on items purchased on “clearancet items sold as defective or deficient, and floor models or items assembled or used for demonstration or display purposes. The manufacturer reserves the right to request proof that the item was new and in original unopened CRAFTSMAN packaging at the original time of purchase. The manufacturer does not provide any assurance or guarantee that the product will meet governmental or homeowner association zoning, building code, permit, construction, or placement requirements, The warranty is voided by nonconformance with the products manual, guides, warnings, foundational requirements, or other instructions for assembly and use, The warranty excludes any defect, failure, or damage arising from unusual or excessive (high or low) temperatures, reflected sun rays, wind, or other weather conditions or acts of nature (including without Imitation: tornadoes, hail, lightening, hurricanes, floods, fires, blizzards, microbursts, and earthquakes). Ordinary wear and tear, natural aging, discoloration, weathering, sunlight fading, rust, staining caused by mold, mildew, tree sap, damage resulting from wildlife or household pets, and damage resulting from third party products are also excluded The warranty is voided by any of the following: exposure of the product to painting sandblasting (and other abrasives), harsh chemicals, product modifications, product disassembly (other than for authorized repair), industrial or commercial use, misuse, intentlonal or reckless acts, or use other than normal use intended by the manufacturer. For all Outdoor Storage Sheds: obe eligible for and maintain warranty coverage, the product must be assembled on a foundation as outlined in the products assembly manual and properly anchored to such foundation. Also, at any time the unit is not in use, the doors must be closed and latched with the latching devices supplied and secured with a padlock. Left and right doors may have different latches, and both must be engaged. Failure to comply will void the warranty. Provided the previously mentioned requirements are met, all CRAFTSMAN outdoor storage sheds are rated to withstand winds up to 65 mph,
