General Notes

Before operating this appliance, read the operating instructions carefully, and keep them on file, including the warranty receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you pass the appliance on to a third party, please pass on the manual.

  • Use the appliance privately and only for its intended purpose. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors. Keep it away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture (never dip it into any liquid), and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. Unplug the appliance if it is exposed to moisture or liquid.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • The appliance and the power cord must be regularly inspected for signs of damage. If damage is detected, the appliance may no longer be used.
  • Use only original accessories.
  • In the interest of child safety, do not leave any packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene, etc.) lying around.

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance

WARNING: Risk of injury!

  • Prior to replacing accessories or attachments that are moved during operation, the appliance must be turned off and unplugged.
  • Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and maintenance by the user shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Appliances can be operated by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and / or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understood the hazards involved.
  • Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

CAUTION:
Do not immerse the appliance into water for cleaning. Please follow the instructions as stipulated in the chapter “Cleaning”.

  • Use this appliance only for the processing of food. The abuse for any other purposes may result in injury.

Intended Use

This appliance can be used to squeeze out citrus fruit.
It is intended for the use in private households and similar applications.
It is only to be used as instructed in this user manual. The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
Any other use is considered improper and may result in material damage or even personal injury.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by improper use.

Unpacking the Appliance

  1. Remove the appliance from the package.
  2. Remove all packaging material such as films, filler, cable holders and cardboard.
  3. Check the delivery contents for completeness.
  4. Should the package contents be incomplete or damages be found, do not take the appliance into operation. Take it immediately back to the dealer.

NOTE:
Dust or production residues can be located on the appliance.
We recommend to clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

Overview of the Components /Scope of Delivery

  1. Large pressing cone
  2. Small pressing cone
  3. Filter sieve
  4. Juice holder with closable spout, holds approx. 350 ml
  5. MAX (Maximum) marking
  6. Spout with drip stop
  7. Motor shaft
  8. Motor housing
  9. Press here to release the fruit cover
  10. Lever

Assembling the Appliance

  1. Push the motor shaft onto the axle until it locks into place.
  2. Put the juice holder into the motor housing.
  3. Put the filter onto the juice holder.
  4. Place the small pressing cone onto the motor shaft.
  5. In case you want to squeeze out large fruit, place the large pressing cone onto the small pressing cone. Pay attention to the recesses for the wings of the small pressing cone.
  6. Fasten the fruit cover on the lever. Please pay attention to the various recesses on the lever. The fruit cover has to snap on.

NOTE:
The spout on the juice tank can be adjusted in two positions.

  • Snapped in facing up: The outlet aperture is closed (drip stop).
  • Snapped in facing down: The outlet aperture is open.

Electrical Connection

Check whether the power supply that you want to use coincides with that of the appliance. The information can be found on the nameplate.

Using the Appliance

  1. Place the appliance on a firm and flat surface. Position it such that it cannot tilt over.

  2. Insert the plug in a duly installed protective contact socket.

  3. Place a glass (vessel) under the spout of the juice container.

  4. Press the spout downwards in order to open the outlet aperture.

  5. Halve the citrus fruit in the middle.

  6. Hold one half of the citrus fruit above the pressing cone with one hand, while you lower the lever with the other hand. Put the fruit cover directly above the citrus fruit. If you apply a little pressure to the lever, the appliance will start the motor on its own.
    NOTE:
    • The juice flows into the glass (vessel). Fruit flesh and pips remain in the filter screen.
    • If you use little fruit, you can squeeze out the rest of the fruit by pressing half of the fruit gently onto the pressing cone with your hand.

  7. Before removing the glass (vessel) press the spout upwards in order to seal the outlet of the juice container and prevent dripping.

  8. Pull the plug out of the socket after use and clean the appliance as described below.

NOTE:

  • Citrus fruit juices should be stored in a cool place for not more than one day.
  • Never store such juices in metal containers. The acid in the juice attacks the metal surface. Metal ions form which spoil the taste of the juice.

Cleaning

WARNING:

  • Always disconnect from the mains before cleaning.
  • Never immerse the motor housing in water. This can lead to electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

  • Do not use wire brushes or other abrasive implements.
  • Do not use caustic or scouring agents.
  • Always clean the juicer after use.

Motor Housing
To clean the outside of the housing use only a damp dishcloth with a little washing up liquid.
Detachable Accessories

  • The motor shaft can be detached from the axle for cleaning.
  • Components which come into contact with food can be cleaned in soapy water.
  • Allow the parts to dry well before reassembling the appliance.

Storage

  • We recommend that you keep the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for long periods.
  • Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Remedy
The appliance does not work. The appliance has no power supply. Check the

socket with another appliance.
Plug in the mains plug correctly.
Check the main circuit breaker.
The appliance is faulty.| Contact our service centre or a specialist.
Juice is running down the motor housing below the spout.| The juice container is overfilled.| 1. Empty the juice container and the filter sieve.
2. Clean these parts under running water.
3. You can continue using the appliance once you have reinserted these parts.
Make sure that the juice container is only filled up to the MAX marking.
Pulp got caught up in the spout.
