  • If the safety instructions and warnings are not observed, the manufacturer cannot be held liable for any resulting damage.

  • Never open the base unit of the appliance.

  • Do not heat up closed cans on the hob. This creates overpressure, as a result of which the cans may explode. You could injure/burn yourself as a result.
WARNING: fire hazard: do not leave anything standing on the hob unattended.
WARNING: cooking with fat or oil on an unattended hob can be dangerous and could result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish the fire with water. Instead, you should turn off the appliance and then cover the flames with a lid or an extinguishing blanket, for example.

  • The appliance may not be used outdoors.

  • Do not use the appliance as a worktop. The appliance can be switched on by accident or still be hot, which means that objects could melt, get hot or catch fire.

    – do not use the appliance.

  • The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote control system.

  • Do not place metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids on the surface of the hob. These can become hot.

  • The ceramic plate is very strong, but not unbreakable. If something falls on it, such as a spice jar or a pointy object, this may result in a broken plate.
WARNING: if the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the risk of an electric shock.

  • At higher positions, you should be aware of the very fast heating time. Always remain nearby after adjusting a cooking zone to a higher position.

  • Defective parts may only be replaced by original parts. Only for those parts will the manufacturer be able to guarantee that they meet the safety requirements.

  • Damage as a result of incorrect connection or incorrect use does not fall under the warranty.

  • If the connecting cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by the manufacturer, its service organization, or similarly qualified persons, in order to prevent hazardous situations.

  • The electrical connection must meet national and local regulations.

  • The socket and plug must always be within reach.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Before using the appliance for the first time, proceed as follows: carefully unpack the induction hob and remove all packaging material. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance, carefully check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport.
Place the induction hob on a firm, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Clean the induction hob with a slightly damp cloth. Check that the voltage corresponds with the voltage stated on the information plate before you insert the plugin into the socket.

OPERATING THE HOB

Only use pans that are suitable for an induction hob and have the correct size with a cross-section from 15 to 20 cm.
The induction hob has two cooking zones and each cooking zone has its own control buttons. Both cooking zones are operated in the same way.
The induction hob works by means of electronic sensors that are operated by touching the corresponding touch control. Each time the touch control is touched or the position knob is turned, you can hear a sound signal. Make sure the operating section is always clean and dry.
PLACE A PAN ON THE CERAMIC PLATE

  • Check that the ventilation openings are not blocked and do not place cookware in the direct vicinity of the induction hob.
  • Place the pan with food or liquid in the center of a cooking zone.

INSERT THE PLUGIN THE SOCKET

  • When the plug is inserted into the socket, a beep will sound. [–] flashes on the display.

SWITCHING ON THE INDUCTION HOB

  • Press the on/off button once. The display shows [on] and the cooking zone is ready for heating.
  • If the cooking zone is not operated within 1 minute after switching it on [on], the induction hob automatically returns to standby [–].

ADJUSTING A POSITION

  • Turn the position knob to set the induction hob to the required position.
The induction hob has 10 positions, of which [1] is the lowest position and boosts [P] is the highest position.

Shown on display 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 P
  • If there is no pan on the cooking zone after switching it on, the induction hob will not get hot. One minute later, the induction hob switches off automatically.

SWITCHING OFF THE INDUCTION HOB

  • Press the on/off button once to switch off the cooking zone manually or set the position knob to 0.
Caution: the glass plate will be hot [HH].

RESIDUAL HEAT INDICATOR
The residual heat indicator shows that the glass plate is still too hot to touch in the area of the cooking zone.
If the area of the cooking zone is still too hot, [HH] appears on the display. When the temperature gets lower but is still hot, the indication [HH] will change into [hh]. The temperature of the glass plate is low when [–] is flashing on the display.

BOOST MODE
The Boost mode provides extra power for a short period of time.

  • Switch on the induction hob and turn the position knob to the highest position, Boost. The Boost mode is active when a [P] appears on the display. After 5 minutes, the    Boost mode automatically switches back to position 9.
When a different position is selected, the Boost mode is canceled.
Caution: the Boost mode cannot be used on both cooking zones at the same time. When a cooking zone has the Boost mode activated and the other cooking zone is also switched to Boost mode, the setting of the first cooking zone is automatically adjusted to a lower position.

SETTING THE TIMER

  • Press the timer key to set the timer while the induction hob is on. Numbers [45] are now flashing on the display.
Use the position knob to adjust the time.
The maximum setting of the timer depends on the set position.
The indication on the display is limited and will show [01-60] per minute during the first 60 minutes. When the timer is set to more than 60 minutes, the indication is changed to hours and 10-minute periods. Now, each time the time is increased, 10 minutes will be added.
Example: 1 hour and 10 minutes are now shown as 1.1.
3 hours and 40 minutes are now shown as 3.4.

PANS

Pans that have already been used in other hobs, such as gas hobs, are no longer suitable for an induction hob. Therefore, buy a new pan prior to first use, if you do not have a suitable pan.TOMADO TIH3501S Induction Hob -
PANS

  • Which requirements should a good pan meet? The pan should contain materials that are magnetic. Cookware made of steel, enameled steel, cast iron, or stainless steel yields the best results.

  • Use pans with a thick, flat bottom with the same diameter as a cooking zone. This reduces cooking time.

  • The pans must have a flat bottom and a minimum diameter of 12 cm and a maximum diameter of 20 cm. The cooking zone is
a circle and the point where the lines cross is the center of the circle.

  • After first use, white stains are sometimes found in the pan. This is normal. Pour some vinegar into the pan and heat it to 60-80°C. Then remove the stains with a brush.

  • Unsuitable materials for pans are glass, ceramic, aluminum, copper, and other non-magnetic materials.

  • When the pan is removed from the cooking zone, the induction hob immediately stops heating.

  • A pan should always be placed in the center of a cooking zone.

  • In the case of some pans, it is possible that you can hear different noises. This is caused by the shape of the pan and does not affect the function or safety of the induction hob.

ENERGY SAVING

  • Place the pan in the cooking zone before it is switched on. If you switch on a cooking zone without a pan on top of it, the cooking zone will do nothing.
  • Always use a lid on the pan to reduce cooking time.
  • Reduce the power when the liquid is boiling.
  • Do not use too much liquid or fat. Cooking or frying takes longer if you use too much.
  • Select the correct power for the different cooking possibilities.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Prior to cleaning, always remove the plug from the wall socket. Allow cooking zones to cool down before cleaning the induction hob.

  • When cleaning the surface of the induction hob, do not use aggressive abrasive cleaning agents, spray cans, or sharp objects that have not been developed for this purpose.

  • After a period of time, the ventilation openings can become clogged due to the accumulation of dust and other dirt. Clean the ventilation openings with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a soft brush or a mini vacuum cleaner.
Caution: Do not rinse the induction hob with water.

  • Daily clean the surface of the induction hob with a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent, such as a washing-up liquid. Dry properly with paper towels or a dry tea towel.

  • Some pans can leave a metal-like substance on the glass plate. Remove it immediately after use, because it will get increasingly more difficult to remove. If necessary, use a damp cloth with a little bit of toothpaste or some washing-up liquid.

  • If the induction hob is not used for a longer period of time, remove the plug from the socket and store the appliance in a room that is free from dust and vermin.

  • Boiled over food can be removed by soaking it with a damp cloth and a little bit of washing-up liquid, or you can use a glass scraper. Caution: the glass scraper is sharp. Keep it away from children.

  • Use a special cleaning agent for ceramic/induction hobs in case of stubborn stains. Caution: observe the instructions on the packaging.
