- Setting of temperature
- On/off indicator light (red)
- Indicator light for heating (green)
- Heating element
- 4 small raclette pans
- 4 wooden spatulas
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
- Remove all packing materials and carefully clean the appliance, the stone, the grill plate and the mini pans before the first use. (See “Cleaning”).
- Use a thin layer of vegetable oil in the mini pans and on the grill plate and apply a fine layer of salt to the stone plate. This will prevent sticking and cleaning after use will be easier.
- When using the appliance for the first time a small amount of smoke may be released from the heating element. This is completely normal and harmless. For this reason allow the appliance 10-30 minutes to preheat before using for the first time in order to burn any possible remaining residues.
- Place the unit preferably on a surface that is easy to clean. The surface should also be heat-resistant. Do not place the appliance on an untreated wooden surface.
- Make sure that there is enough ventilation around the grill.
- Make sure that the grill is switched off. Plug into an earthed socket.
IMPORTANT REMARKS
- The stone is a natural product. Small rips can become visible during use. This is a normal phenomenon and is not covered by the warranty. The stone can also change colour and become darker. This does not affect the performance of the appliance.
- If the stone plate has been stored in a humid surrounding, make sure to put it in a regular environment at room temperature 2 days in advance.
- Avoid shocks when moving the stone plate. Also avoid strong temperature changes.
- Do not put food on the hot stone that is too large, too cold or frozen.
- Never sprinkle cold water on a hot stone, the stone plate might crack.
- Never move a stone that is still hot, to avoid burns and cracks in the stone.
- Only place food onto the stone. Never place any heavy objects on top of the stone.
- If you use meat that is marinated, know that the spices will be absorbed by the stone. This may cause colour change of the stone and may give a special taste to the grilled meat.
USE
- Place the appliance in the middle of the table. Make sure that the space around the appliance is properly ventilated.
- Wait until you are sure that the stone and the grill plate are sufficiently hot before cooking on it; allow the appliance a minimum of 10 and maximum 30 minutes to preheat.
- Cut meat into small squares to shorten cooking time.
- It is recommended to already remove as much food residues as possible during grilling with a wooden spatula. When the remains are dried up, they are harder to remove.
SETTING OF TEMPERATURE
- You can set the temperature of the appliance as required. The temperature ranges from minimum (MIN) to maximum (MAX). A mid-way temperature is recommended.
- This switch is also the ‘on’ switch, and MIN is the off position.
- Turn the temperature regulator to the required position. The red indicator light will light up when the appliance is plugged in, showing that the appliance is getting power. The green light will light up when the heating element is activated.
