Miracle-EarLINK TV Streamer AV
Introduction
The 2.4 GHz Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is designed to stream audio from
electronic audio sources directly to your 2.4 GHz wireless hearing aids. The
Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV can be successfully connected to many
electronic audio sources, including televisions, computers, MP3 players, DVD
players and cable boxes.
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV can concurrently stream audio to an
unlimited number of users, allowing them to share the same listening
experience.

Powers the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV on and off : Pair with hearing aids and : To increase the audio stream volume, press the “+”.
To decrease the volume, press the “-“.
Tip: Streaming volume can also be adjusted via the app, Miracle-EarLINK™
Remote AV, and/or hearing aid user controls. Review your hearing aid User
Manual or contact your
Miracle-Ear® Hearing Care Professional for details on your particular system
setup.
LED: Provides helpful information about the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer
AV.

Basic Use
To quickly start using the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV with a typical setup:

Remove the plastic caps from both ends of the TOSLINK cable.

Attach a TOSLINK cable into the Audio OUT jack on your electronic audio source. Power on your electronic audio source.
NOTE: If there is no TOSLINK audio OUT jack, try a different electronic audio source or try the 3.5 mm to RCA cable. -
Attach the other end of TOSLINK cable to the rear of the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV (jack B).

Plug the power adapter into the wall socket.
NOTE: If the power adapter does not have the proper plug configuration, refer to Assembling the Power Adapter section on page 16. -
Insert the power adapter microUSB connector into the rear of the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV (jack A).

Press the power button on the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV to turn it on.

If the front LED glows solid blue, then the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV has detected audio and is streaming.
Tip: If the LED remains solid green, recheck your setup or review Troubleshooting section. -
Ensure your hearing aids are powered on.
NOTE: Prior to streaming audio for the first time, your hearing aids will need to be paired to the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV. Refer to the Pairing section on page 13. -
To start streaming audio,
- Refer to Start/Stop Audio Streaming section on page 15 for additional options.

Press the +/- button on the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV to adjust the stream volume.

To stop streaming, do one of the following:
- Turn off the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV (
- Refer to Start/Stop Audio Streaming section on page 15 for additional options.
Connecting to Audio Sources
There are different ways to attach an audio source to the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV. Carefully examine an electronic audio source to determine which AUDIO OUT options it offers.
Tip: During initial setup, a solid blue LED confirms the audio cable is properly attached to the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV and audio streaming is active.
Pairing
For the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV to interact with your hearing aid(s),
you must first pair the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV with each hearing aid.
You only need to perform this action one time, as they should automatically
recognize each other when both are powered on and within wireless operating
range.*
To pair the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV with your hearing aid(s):

Ensure your hearing aids are not connected to nearby Bluetooth® devices. To do this:
- Disable Bluetooth® on your mobile phone.
- Power off any nearby Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV or accessories, which you previously paired to your hearing aids.

Power off, then power on your hearing aids.

Place your hearing aids within 15 cm (6 inches) of the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV.

Press the button on the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV. The front LED will begin blinking blue. Audio streaming will be temporarily stopped during this step.

Start/Stop Audio Streaming
Audio streaming from the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV may be started (or stopped) in a variety of ways:
- Miracle-EarLINK™ Remote AV – If preconfigured by your Miracle-Ear® Hearing Care Professional, press the Favorite button ( ).
- Hearing aid user control – If preconfigured by your
Miracle-Ear® Hearing Care Professional, a specific gesture (e.g., a Long Press on a Push Button) can start/stop streaming.
Audio streaming will also stop when:
- An incoming audio signal is not detected.
- Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is turned off.
An audible indicator may play in your hearing aids to signal the start/stop of audio streaming.
Assembling the Power Adapter
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV may include a variety of plug configurations for use in different countries. If the power adapter requires assembly:
- Select the appropriate plug configuration used in your country.
- Slide the plug onto the power adapter until it snaps place.
- To remove the plug, press the tab and slide the plug from the cable.
Troubleshooting

LED is solid blue, but no streamed sounds are heard in the hearing aids.|
Hearing aids are not within wireless range.| Move closer to the Miracle-
EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV.
Audio stream needs to be manually started to be heard in hearing aids.|
Manually start the audio stream via your remote, or hearing aid user control.

Streamed audio is not synchronized with the television picture.| Many new
televisions (such as HDTVs) take a long time to process the video signal, so
they may delay the audio to maintain synchronization.|
- Try using another audio output jack (which may require a different type of cable) on your television.
- Try using another electronic audio source. For example, if currently using cable box, try the audio OUT on a television or vice versa.
- Some electronic audio sources (such as televisions or A/V receivers) have a built-in option to adjust the timing sequence of audio and video.
Safety Information
Intended Use
Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is an accessory to a wireless air conduction
hearing aid. It is intended as a wireless transmitter of sound from a
television or other electronic audio source directly to an air conduction
hearing aid.
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is designed to operate in public
and residential environments and are designed to comply with international
Electromagnetic Compatibility emissions and immunity standards for medical
devices. However, it is still possible that you may experience interference
caused by power line disturbances, airport metal detectors, electromagnetic
fields from other medical devices, radio signals and electrostatic discharges.
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is classified as a Type B applied part
under the IEC 60601-1 medical device standard.
If you use other medical devices or wear implantable medical devices such as
defibrillators or pacemakers and are concerned that your Miracle-EarLINK™ TV
Streamer AV might cause interference with your medical device, please contact
your physician or the manufacturer of your medical device for information
about the risk of disturbance.
Aircraft Warning: Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV should not be used on
aircraft unless specifically permitted by the flight personnel. We are
required by regulations to provide the following warnings:
WARNING: Use of the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV directly next to
other electronic equipment should be avoided because it could result in
improper performance. If such use is necessary, note as to whether your
hearing aids and the other equipment are operating normally.
WARNING: Use of accessories, components or replacement parts other than
those provided by the manufacturer of your Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV
could result in increased electromagnetic emissions and decreased
electromagnetic immunity and could result in degradation of performance.
WARNING: If Portable Radio Frequency communications equipment is used
closer than 30 cm (12 inches) from your Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV,
degradation of the performance of your hearing aid could result. If this
occurs, move away from the communications equipment. Although the Miracle-
EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is not formally certified (IP rated) for protection
against dust or water ingress, per IEC 60529, it has been tested to the IP 5X
level. This means that the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AVV is protected from
dust.
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV does not contain any user-serviceable
parts. Do not open or modify it.
Do not connect the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV to any devices not
described in this manual.
The expected service life of the Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is 5 years.
Your Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV is approved to operate at a radio
frequency that is specific to your country or region and might not be approved
for use outside your country or region. Be aware that operation during
international travel may cause interference to other electronic instruments,
or other electronic instruments may cause interference to your Miracle-
EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV.
Regulatory Information
WIRELESS TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV operates in the 2.4- 2.4835 GHz band with
a maximum effective radiated power of 21 dBm (North America), 10 dBm (rest
of world) with transmission modulation type of GFSK and 2 MHz bandwidth. The
receiver section of the radio has a bandwidth of 2 MHz.
The Miracle-EarLINK™ TV Streamer AV device has been tested to, and has passed,
the following emissions and immunity tests:

IEC 60601-1-2 radiated and conducted emissions requirements for a Group 1 Class B device as stated in CISPR 11.

Harmonic distortion and voltage fluctuations affecting the power input source as stated in Table 2 of IEC 60601-1-2.

RF radiated immunity at a field level of 10 V/m between 80 MHz and 2.7 GHz as well as higher field levels from communications devices as stated in Table 9 of
IEC 60601-1-2. -
Immunity to power frequency magnetic fields at a field level of 30 A/m as well as proximity magnetic fields as defined in table 11 of 60601-1-2.

Immunity to ESD levels of +/- 8 kV conducted discharge and +/- 15 kV air discharge.

Immunity to electrical fast transients on the power input at a level of +/- 2 kV at a 100 Hz repetition rate.
