Intended use

  • The product is a power outlet. The product features multiple sockets and is intended for con-necting electrical loads such as pond ventilations, fountains, or garden lights.
  • The total power consumption of all connected loads must not exceed 3680 W.
  • The product can be controlled via the TUYA mobile app.
  • The product has an IP44 ingress protection rating. It is splash proof and suitable for outdoor use. Do not submerge in water.
  • If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be dam-aged.
  • Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards.
  • The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements.
  • For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product.

General

  • The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

  • Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an authorised repair centre.

Handling
Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.

Operating environment

  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
  • Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
  • Protect the product from direct sunlight.

Installation location
Do not install the product/appliance in locations where water can accumulate. Water can cause short-circuits and lead to life-threatening electrical shocks.

Drilling
When penetrating the surface (example: drilling or inserting fasteners), make sure no cables or pipes are damaged. Inadvertently penetrating electric cables causes the life-threatening danger of an electric shock! Check for concealed wires and pipes before drilling or inserting fasteners.

Mains cable
Do not modify or repair mains supply components including mains plugs, mains cables, and power supplies. Do not use damaged components. Risk of death by electric shock!

  • The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
  • Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
  • Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from the mains socket using the intended grips.
  • Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an extended period of time.
  • Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket in thunderstorms for reasons of safety.
  • Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under mechanical stress.
  • Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or cold.
  • Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A dam-aged mains cable can cause a deadly electric shock.
  • Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged.
    • First, power down the respective mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains socket.
    • Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
  • A damaged mains cable may only be replaced by the manufacturer, a workshop commissioned by the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person, so as to prevent any danger.
  • Ensure that cables are not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp edges.
  • Always lay cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of injury.

Operation

  • Risk of a life-threatening electric shock! Never operate the product when your hands are damp or wet.
  • Do not connect the product in series!
  • De-energized only when unplugged.
  • Do not cover the product when operating it. The product can overheat and cause fire.
  • Never point a garden hose at the product.
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the product.
  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    • is visibly damaged,
    • is no longer working properly,
    • has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    • has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

Installation

Factors affecting wireless signal strength
Surrounding objects can reduce the strength of the wireless signal:

  • Walls and reinforced concrete ceilings
  • Coated or vaporised insulating glass panes
  • Proximity to metallic and conductive objects (e.g., radiators)
  • Broadband interference, e.g. in residential areas (DECT phones, mobile phones, radio headsets, wireless speakers, wireless weather stations, baby monitoring systems, etc.)
  • Electric motors, transformers, power-supply units and computers
  • Poorly shielded or uncovered computers or other electrical appliances

Selecting installation location
Before you install or place the product, select an installation location that meets safety and operational requirements.

  • The installation location must not be hollow or where water can collect and enter the product.
  • The installation location must be firm, horizontal, and even to ensure that rainwater can run off without entering the product.
  • If Wi-Fi connectivity is required, the installation location must be within the range of the Wi-Fi network.

Installing on soft surfaces
Use the ground spike to install the product on soft surfaces such as lawns.

Important: Only install or place the product on a vertical and level surface.

  1. (If connected) Disconnect the product from the power supply.
  2. Position the product and check that the water drainage holes on the left and the right side of the casing are not obstructed by any objects. If the drainage holes are obstructed, change the location.
  3. Screw the spike into the bottom of the product.
  4. Insert the spike together with the product into the soft underground.

Operating

After you have installed the product, you can power appliances that are suitable for outdoor use.

Important:
This product has an ingress protection rating of IP44 and is suitable for outdoor use. It is “splash proof” and protected from objects greater than 1 millimeter in size and water spray from any direction.

  • This rating is only effective if:
    • The mains plug is connected to a power outlet rated IP44 or higher.
    • An IP44 rated plug is connected to the socket(s) of the product –OR– The socket covers on the product are closed.
  • Do not use the product in areas where water accumulates.
  1. Connect the mains plug to a suitable mains socket.
  2. Switch off the appliance you intend to power with the product.
  3. Connect the mains plug of the appliance to one of the sockets.
  4. Guide the mains cable of the connected appliance through a recession in the product. Make sure the mains cable does not get jammed when you close the cover of the housing.
  5. On the product, push the On/Off button to supply power to the sockets.
  6. After use, push the On/Off button to stop supplying power to the sockets.

Important: If you control the product via the mobile app, use the On/Off button to manually override the status of the sockets.

Setting up mobile app control

Adding the product to the mobile app
For mobile app control, you must add the product to the app and connect it to a suitable Wi-Fi network.

Important: The product can only be connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.

Preconditions:

  • The TUYA mobile app “Smart Life – Smart Living” is installed on your mobile device.
  • The product is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.
  • Your mobile device is near the product.
  1. On your mobile device, activate Wi-Fi.
  2. On your mobile device, activate Bluetooth and the location.
  3. Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network to which you intend to connect the product.
  4. In the centre of the product, hold down the On/Off push button until the indicator light flashes.
  5. Open the mobile app.
  6. Tap on + to add a new product.
  7. Tap on Auto Scan to find the new product.
  8. Wait for the auto scan function to list the product.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the product.
  • You have added the product to the mobile app and connected the product to the Wi-Fi network.
  • You can now control the product via the mobile app.

Controlling the product
After you have connected the product to the Wi-Fi network, you can control it remotely via the mobile app.

Cleaning and care

Important:

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions. They damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction.
  • Do not immerse the product in water.

1. Disconnect the product from the power supply.
2. Clean the product with a dry, fiber-free cloth.
