IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious personal injury, and/or property damage:
A. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use the handle or the dial while it is in
use. Use protective oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns or serious personal
injury.
B. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug,
or product in water or expose it to other liquids.
C. Do not use appliances unless the handle and cooking plates are securely
attached.
D. Keep the product out of the reach of children. This product is not intended
for use by children. Close adult supervision is necessary when any appliance
is used near children.
E. Unplug appliances from electrical outlets before cleaning and when not in
use. Allow to cool down completely before assembling, disassembling,
relocating, or cleaning the appliance.
F. Do not operate the product if it has a damaged power cord or plug, or after
the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Do not attempt

G. Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the
product from the electrical outlet when not in use.
H. Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot oil or any
other hot liquids.
I. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use,
before changing parts, cleaning, or moving the appliance. To disconnect, turn
the temperature control dial to the ‘’Min’’ position and pull directly on the
plug do not pull on the power cord.
J. Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property
damage as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.
K. Do not plug or unplug the product into/from the electrical outlet with a
wet hand.
L. Use the product in a well-ventilated area.
M. Keep the product away from curtains, clothing, dish towels, or other
flammable materials.
N. Do not use attachments not recommended or not sold by the product
manufacturer.
O. This product is intended for indoor, household use in cooking or heating
food items for human consumption. Do not use outdoors or for any other
purpose.
P. Do not allow the power cord to hang (e.g., over the edge of a table or
counter) or touch hot surfaces.
Q. A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
R. Do not place the product on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven or microwave oven.
S. Always place the product on a flat, level, stable surface—it is not
recommended to use the appliance on temperature-sensitive surfaces.
T. Connect the power plug to an easily accessible outlet so that the panini
grill can be unplugged immediately in the event of an emergency.
U. Do not use the panini grill with a programmer or timing device that
switches it on automatically. The use of such devices is dangerous and can
cause a fire risk.
V. Do not use appliances for anything other than their intended use.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
GROUNDED PLUG: As a safety feature, this appliance is equipped with a
grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Do not attempt
to defeat this safety feature. Improper connection of the grounding conductor
may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if
you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the
risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. AN EXTENSION
CORD MAY BE USED IF CARE IS EXERCISED IN THEIR USE:

- Minimize the risk of overheating by using the shortest UL or ETL possible.
- The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product.
- Never use a single extension cord to operate more than one appliance.
- If the product is of the grounding-type, the extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
- Arrange the longer cord so that it will not drape over a countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).
DO NOT alter the plug. DO NOT attempt to defeat the safety purpose of
the polarized plug.
Remove all packaging material, labels, and stickers. Ensure that no packaging
material remains on the appliance or heating elements.
Before the initial use, wipe the base, cover, and control with a damp cloth.
Ensure that the plates and drip trays are thoroughly washed (refer to the
CLEANING section in this instruction manual). The heating element may be
cleaned with a damp cloth—do not immerse elements in the water.

BEFORE FIRST USE
(Read the instructions before first use)
- Remove and discard any promotional material, packaging, and sticker material before use.
- Remove the reversible plates by pressing the heating plates release button located on each side of the unit and carefully remove them from the unit.
- Wash all the removable parts and accessories in hot soapy water and dry thoroughly or place them in the top rack of the dishwasher.
- Ensure the drip tray is correctly inserted into the panini grill.
- Ensure the cooking plates are correctly inserted and securely locked into position.
- Ensure the silicone cover is correctly inserted and securely attached to the position.
- Wipe the panini grill with reversible plates with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
NOTE: DO NOT immerse the panini grill body, power cord, or plug in any liquids.
FEATURES
The panini grill with reversible plates offers five functions in one
appliance.
This versatile appliance offers a wide range of possibilities: a level,
floating cover system and one set of reversible heating plates turn the panini
grill into a contact grill, a panini press, a full grill, a full griddle, or
half grill/half griddle.
The temperature control dial and indicator lights make this product easy to
use.
Removable, dishwasher-safe plates and integrated drip tray for hassle-free
cleaning.
ASSEMBLY
The panini grill features two removable heating plates. This allows you to
remove the top and bottom cooking plates separately for easy cleaning or to
reverse plate positions.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the silicone covers (provided) are inserted into
plates during the use of this appliance.
PLATE RELEASE
- Ensure the panini grill is completely cool.
- Use the handle to open the top heating plate to a 90-degree position.
- Press the ‘heating plates release button’ on the right side of the top plate to remove the top cooking plate, and the ‘heating plates release button’ on the right side of the base to remove the bottom cooking plate.
- Once heating plates are released, gently slide the plates off the panini grill.
- Ensure the silicone covers from the heating plates are securely placed into each plate locking cavity.
- When using the panini grill as a contact grill or sandwich press, set the adjustable height (floating hinge) to reduce the weight of the top plate on delicate foods. Also, the height can be adjusted high enough for open melts (broil).
DRIP TRAY
- Ensure the panini grill is completely cool.
- Slide-out the drip tray from the front of the appliance.
- Do not operate the panini grill without the drip tray in place.
- Ensure the drip tray is correctly reinserted into the panini grill.
TO USE AS A PANINI GRILL
WARNING: Do not touch hot surfaces. Always manipulate the product with
the handle.
NOTE: During the first use of the appliance, smoke and/or a slight odor
may occur from the appliance. This is normal and will quickly disappear. It
will not reoccur after the appliance has been used a few more times.
WARNING: Always be cautious when handling the panini grill with
reversible plates during cooking—it will become hot during use. To open the
appliance, always use the black plastic area of the handle. This part of the
handle stays cool to the touch while cooking. Allow the appliance to cool down
completely before handling or moving.
NOTE: Place the panini grill on a flat, dry surface. Ensure there is a
minimum distance of 20 cm (7.8 inches) of space on both sides of the
appliance.

Ensure the drip tray is correctly inserted into the panini grill.

Choose between the ribbed or flat side to cook your food and ensure the cooking plates are correctly inserted and securely locked into position.

Ensure the silicone cover is securely placed on each reversible heating plate.

Insert the power plug into the power outlet, the white power light will illuminate.
-
Turn the dial to the desired temperature, and allow the panini grill with reversible plates to preheat with the top and bottom heating plates in the closed position until the ready green light illuminates.
NOTE: When the thermostat has reached operating temperature, a green indicator light inside the chosen control will indicate that the appliance is ready for cooking. The green (READY) light may turn on and off during cooking. This is normal and indicates that the thermostat is maintaining the proper cooking temperature to grill to perfection.
WARNING: The cooking plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat-resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the handle. -
Use the handle to lift the upper plate of the panini grill. Place food on the bottom
WARNING: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the plates’ non-stick coating. -
Use the handle to lower and rest the upper heating plate on top of the food.
NOTES: The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
• Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
• Do not cook or defrost frozen food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product. -
When the food is cooked as desired, lift the handle to open the upper heating plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking is necessary at this time, close the plates to conserve heat.

Turn the temperature control dial to “Min” and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull directly on the plug—do not pull on the power cord.

When the unit has completely cooled, cleans and dries the panini grill and the dry tray prior to storage.
NOTE: Ensure the drawer drip tray underneath the panini grill with reversible plates is cleaned before storage. (See CLEANING and CARE)
TO USE AS AN OPEN-FACED MELT (BROIL)

Check the reversible plates and choose between the ribbed or flat side to cook your food. Press the release button on the side of the appliance and select the ribbed or flat side to cook your food.
NOTE: For the best result use the flat side of the upper heating plate for an even heating surface. -
Ensure the silicone cover is securely inserted into each reversible heating plate.

Insert the power plug into the power outlet, the white power light will illuminate.

Turn the temperature control dial to the desired temperature, and allow the panini grill with reversible plates to preheat with the top and bottom heating plates in the closed position until the green ready light illuminates.
NOTE: When the thermostat has reached operating temperature, the green indicator light will illuminate to indicate that the appliance is ready for cooking.
The green (READY) light may turn on and off during cooking. This is normal and indicates that the thermostat is maintaining the proper cooking temperature to grill to perfection.
WARNING: The cooking plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat-resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the handle. -
Use the handle to lift the upper cover of the panini grill. Place food on the lower plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
WARNING: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the plates’ non-stick coating. -
Use the handle to lower the top cover and slide the height adjustment setter to the desired height.

Slowly lower the top cover until it rests on top of the selected height setting.

The heat emitted from the upper plate will melt or cook ingredients such as cheese or mushrooms.

The melting process should take approximately 3–5 minutes (may vary depending on the type and temperature of food).
NOTES:
• Melt or cook time will differ from food types and thickness.
• Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
• Do not cook or defrost frozen food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product.
• The height-adjustment setting is designed to allow you to adjust the height of the upper plate and can be moved to the desired level at any time. -
When the food is melted or cooked as desired, lift the handle to open the top cover, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking is required at this time, close the plates to conserve heat.

Repeat steps 3–5 until cooking is complete, reapplying cooking oil if necessary.

Close top cover and reset height-adjustment setting.

Turn the temperature control dial to “Min” and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull directly on the plug—do not pull on the power cord.

When the unit has completely cooled, cleans and dries the panini grill prior to storage.
NOTE: Ensure the drip tray underneath the panini grill is cleaned before storage. (see CLEANING and CARE)
TO USE AS A CONTACT GRILL
(TO COOK BURGERS, STEAK, POULTRY, BACON, GRILL VEGETABLES, ETC.):
NOTE: The panini grill should be unplugged during this setup.

To use as an open grill, raise the upper plate by lifting the handle with one hand while sliding the locking latch towards the handle with your other hand.
-
Push the handle back until the handle rests flat, directly on the counter or table.
The upper plate should now be completed at the same level as the bottom plate—creating one large, leveled cooking surface. -
Ensure the silicone cover is securely inserted in each reversible heating plate.

Insert the power plug into the power outlet, the white power light will illuminate.
-
Turn the temperature control dial to the desired temperature, and allow the panini grill to preheat until the green ready light illuminates.
NOTE: When the thermostat has reached the operating temperature, a green indicator light will illuminate to indicate that the appliance is ready for cooking.

Apply oil or butter to the cooking surface and begin grilling the food.

Use wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils to handle food.
WARNING: Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the plates’ non-stick coating.
NOTES:
• The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
• Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
• Do not cook or defrost frozen food. All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product. -
When the food is cooked as desired, use appropriate utensils to remove the food.

Turn the temperature control dial to “Min” and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Pull directly on the plug—do not pull on the power cord.
-
When the unit has completely cooled, remove the drip tray located in the middle of the appliance from the front. Wash in hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
NOTE: The drip tray is not dishwasher safe, hand wash only.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the plates to cool down.
- Wipe the outside with a slightly moistened cloth only, ensuring that no moisture, oil, or grease enters the cooling slots.
- To clean the plates, remove them (by pressing on plate release buttons – Fig.1) and remove the silicone covers at the same time. Wash the plates and the silicone covers under running water or in a dishwasher. Dry them afterward.
- Ensure the silicone covers are securely replaced on each reversible heating plate before storage.
- Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.
- Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
STORAGE
To store the panini grill:

Unplug from the power outlet.
-
Allow the panini grill to completely cool down.
-
Ensure that each component/accessory has been cleaned and thoroughly dried.
(Refer to CLEANING AND CARE.) -
Slide the height-adjustment clip towards the front handle and securely lock the upper cover using the clip to ensure that the top and bottom heating plates are locked together. (Fig.2)

Wrap the power cord around the cord wrap hooks located at the back of the appliance.
-
Store either vertically or horizontally on a flat, dry, level surface.
NOTE: The storage lock should never be used while the appliance is being used for cooking.
WARRANTY
1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.
This warranty covers any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of
one
- year from the date of the original purchase. Please retain your original receipt as proof of the purchase date. Any complaints must be registered within the warranty period. The product will be repaired, replaced (parts or entire appliance), or refunded at our sole discretion. Shipping charges may apply.
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from
any of the following:
Negligent use or misuse of the product including failure to clean the product
regularly, use for commercial purposes, accident, use on improper voltage or
current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair, or
alteration by anyone other than a STARFRIT authorized service agent.
Stains, discoloration, and minor scratches on the inside and outside of the
utensil constitute normal use, do not affect performance, and are not covered
by this warranty.
Decisions as to the cause of damage are the responsibility of Starfrit. All
decisions will be final.
