position.
Close the stem quick-release.
Caution: Do not raise
the stem past the minimum insertion line.| Open the handlebar quick-release.

Basic Bike Safety Check
Note: Brakes and derailleur are pre-adjusted at the factory. However,
your bike may need additional adjustments prior to riding. Please reference
this manual for adjustments you may need to make prior to riding.
Please check before riding this bike. If you don’t know how to make any of the
recommended adjustments, please bring this bike to a reputable bike shop for
assistance. You can also email us at:
support@zizzo.bike
As with any bike, check over your ZiZZO before each ride to ensure that all
quick-releases are in the locked position, brakes perform as intended, and all
adjustments are performed.
Ensure that tires are inflated to the proper pressure that listed on the
sidewall of each tire.
As noted in the “Unfolding your ZiZZO” section, ensure that the saddle and
handlebars are at their proper height.
This adjustment varies from rider to rider and should be adjusted for each new
rider and each time the bike is unfolded.
A basic tune-up should be done at least once a year. This can be performed at
home or any reputable bike shop.
Pre-Ride Checklist Before Your First Ride
Your ZiZZO Bike is designed to be “ready to ride.” However, due to shipping
conditions and/or the natural “breaking-in” of your bike, it is required that
you perform a pre-ride safety check prior to your first ride.
Completing the safety check and registering your bike will activate your
warranties for your new bike.
Please reference the checklist below to perform the Pre-Ride Safety Check . If
you have any questions, please call us at
1-866-788-2202 or email us at
support@zizzo.bike.

-
- LOCKS: Make sure folding FRAME and STEM locks are secure with secondary safety locks engaged.
-
- HANDLEBAR AND STEM: Set angle and height of handlebar. Check that both quick-releases are secure.
-
- PEDALS: Make sure pedals spin effortlessly and they are threaded completely. If folding, make sure they lock in place.
-
- WHEELS: Spin the wheels to check for true (straightness), no wobbles, hops or rubbing on the brakes.
-
- SADDLE: Set saddle height. Ensure that saddle mounting is secure and quick-release is secure.
-
- AXLES: Tighten quick-release by hand or tighten axle nuts with a 15mm wrench.
-
- TIRES: Check tire pressure to make sure it is up to spec. Tire pressure can vary, depending on the tire. You can see the recommended tire pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire.
- BRAKES: Make sure brakes are engaging. Test stopping power. Reference pg 19 in your user manual
- CHAIN: Make sure it is snug, but not too tight or loose.
- DERAILLEURS: Set barrel adjusters to precisely shift chain across all gears. Reference pg 21 in your user manual.
It is not necessary to bring the bike to a shop to perform the safety check. If you are comfortable checking over the bike prior to your first ride, that is sufficient to activate the warranty.
Folding your ZiZZO
Following these steps, you will be able to fold your ZiZZO Bike for storage in
your closet, the trunk of your car, or anywhere you need space!
To fold the pedals, insert yourffinger)into the “U” shaped space and pull the

To unlock the frame lock, slide the secondary lock (silver ball) forward 1/4″
Pull the lever out.
Fold the bike in half; make sure the magnetic lock holds the two halves of the
frame securely in place.
Raise the kickstand.
ADJUSTING BRAKES
Your brakes are fine-tuned at our factory.
However, various components will break-in over the course of the first 1-3
months, like your bicycle’s brakes. Please check your brakes by squeezing the
brake levers hard.
When you do this, they should not touch the handlebar grips. If they do, you
can adjust the brake barrel adjustment screwcounter-clockwise. After
adjustment, tighten the lock nut hard clockwise. If the brakes still fail the
check, bring the bike to a reputable bike shop for a standard adjustment.

https://zizzo.bike/pages/zizzo-folding-bike-videos
Derailleur Adjustments
If you find that your ZiZZO is not getting into the proper gear, shifting is
“sluggish”, or you otherwise need to make any derailleur adjustments, please
read the following instructions:
WARNING: If you are unaware of how to make proper adjustments to your
bicycle, seek a qualified bicycle technician for professional adjustments.
- Locate the “Barrel” adjustment screw on the rear derailleur (refer to picture for exact location).
- Screw the Barrel adjustment screw in or out until proper shifting is obtained.
Warning: Never move the shifter while ‘pedaling backward. And never pedal backwards immediately after having moved the shifter. Doing this could jam the chain and cause serious damage to the bicycle.
Index Shifting Adjustment
While turning the crank arm, use the shifter to move the derailleur to the
largest sprocket. Operate the shifter once more to move the derailleur to the
2nd-gear sprocket. Operate the shifter to the point of movement, and then turn
the crank arm.
Best Setting
For the best possible outcome, tighten the barrel adjustment screw (turn
clockwise) until you hear a noise when the shifter is used. Proceed to loosen
by (turn counter-clockwise) 360 degrees from that point. Lastly, shift through
all gears to check that no sound occurs in any of the gear positions.
What gear should I be in?
-
LOW GEARS – Great For Climbing
This is a great gear for climbing. Switch down to these gears as you approach the climb.
You’ll be able to climb the hill slowly and steadily with less effort.
Back gear = The largest sprockets (e.g. 1-3) -
MIDDLE GEARS – Great For Everyday Terrain A medium gear is perfect for flat or undulating terrain. Backgear = The middle sprockets (e.g. 2–6)
-
HIGH GEARS – Great For Descending A high gear is perfect for descending.
You will also want to get into a high gear for accelerating. In a high gear, you travel a long way for each turn of the pedal. Back gear = Smallest sprockets (e.g. 4-7 (or 8 in some models))

MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE:
It is extremely important that your bike is checked and serviced at regular
intervals to ensure reliability and that it is safe to ride.
Cleaning and lubrication is also an important step in the proper maintenance
of your bike. This is covered in more detail immediately after this section.
Some servicing and repair tasks require specialized knowledge and tools.
Improper adjustment may damage the bike or lead to a serious injury to the
rider. If you have any doubts about properly adjusting your bike, consult our
Service Department or your local bike shop.
The following checks are suggested:
Before your ride, check:
-
When you are riding, ALWAYS use a bicycle helmet for your safety.
-
Set reflectors on your bicycle following the legal requirements when you ride on the public road.
-
Bicycle load should be less than 240 LBS. (300 LBS for the Forte)
Load Limit is defined as RIDER + ANY GEAR CARRIED BY BIKE. -
Confirm tires are inflated to correct pressure (Indicated on side-wall of tire), Also check the condition of tires for cuts, etc. (Note: It is a good idea to carry a puncture repair kit and spare inner tube).
-
Handlebar, stem, and headset locknut are tight, and that the steering turns smoothly.
-
Brakes – Squeeze levers to ensure sufficient pressure can be applied without the lever touching the handlebars. Also, ensure brake pads are aligned correctly with the rim and the brake pads are not badly worn.
-
Brakes cables are not frayed at the ends or at the pinch bolts.
-
Gears operate correctly and smoothly.
-
Wheels are running true by spinning them.
-
The height of the seat can be adjusted from 7 inches to 16 inches.
(Measured from the seat rails to the top of the seat tube.) -
After long or hard rides or after every month of regular use- Check the previous points plus the following:
-
Clean, degrease and lubricate your bike.
-
Crank, bottom bracket fitting, and pedals are tight.
-
Tire wear and general tread condition. Look for cuts, glass, Thorns etc. in tires
-
Confirm spokes are not loose or broken. These need to be attended to before the bike can be ridden again and you would probably need to get these corrected at the local bike shop.
-
Hubs are running smoothly.
WARNING:
Failure to correctly tighten the frame latch can lead to damage to the bicycle or injury to the rider. Do NOT ride with a loose frame hinge.
Every 12 months Check
Make sure your bike is thoroughly cleaned and lubricated before every ride.
Unless you have a good knowledge of bikes, we suggest that you take your bike
to your local bike shop for servicing and inspection. If this is not feasible
we recommend you use the following checks:
If in doubt, always consult a bike dealer or qualified mechanic.
- Check frame and forks for any damage or cracks.
- Confirm wheels are true; if not, replace or repair wheels.
- Check tires for wear. Replace or repair tires if necessary.
- Confirm brake tracks on rims are not badly worn, and clean braking surfaces.
- Confirm brake levers, brake adjusters, brake cable, and all other brake attachments are in good order.
- Replace brake cable if there is any sign of wear on cable or cables joints.
- Replace brakes and brake pads if excessive ware is evident and rest brakes after replacing.
- Replace gearing at the same time, especially if they are alloy gears. Worn chain rings can significantly affect gear changing
- Check chain for wear and stiff links.
- Clean and re-grease chain or replace, if necessary.
- Change a loose or stretched chain before it causes excessive wear of the gears or sprockets.
(Replace approximately every 1500 — 2000 miles or every 2 years if riding approximately 20 miles per week)
- Confirm pedals are threaded securely and NOT loose or cross threaded.
- Cranks are attached securely.
- Check derailleur for wear and pay special attention the derailleur in respect of straightness and the jockey wheel.
- Check bottom bracket fittings for wear and disassemble and re grease or replace if required.
- Confirm headset moves smoothly for steering. Also, check side movement by applying the front brake and try rocking the bike. If any side movement is found, the headset may need cleaning, adjusting, re-greasing or the bearing may need replacing or a new headset may be needed to eliminate the side movement.
- Check all bearing surfaces for looseness. If any looseness is found, take to a local bike shop for servicing.
Adverse conditions! Wet or muddy conditions can reduce LZ the effectiveness of your brakes and will increase the braking distance. It’s vital to control your speed under such conditions in order to prevent an accident. Please note that these schedules are suggestions. Frequent and heavy use of your bike will require more frequent maintenance. Remember good maintenance will prolong the life of your bike and components and ensure yours and other peoples safety.
Yearly maintenance at the bicycle owner’s expense is required. A warranty claim may not be considered without a proper maintenance records.
