  • The use of this smoker in enclosed areas can be dangerous and is PROHIBITED.
  • Certain Liquid gas dealers may fill liquid gas cylinders for use in the smoker beyond cylinder filling capacity. This “Overfilling” may create a dangerous condition. “Overfilling” tanks can build up excess pressure. As a safety device, the tanks pressure relief valve will vent gas vapor to relieve this excess pressure. This vapor is combustible and therefore can be ignited. To reduce this danger, you should take the following safety precautions:
  • A. When you have your tank filled, be sure you tell the supplier to fill it to no more than 80% of its total capacity.
  • B. If you own or use an extra spare tank, or have a disconnected tank, you should never store it near or under the smoker unit or heat box, or near any other ignition or heat source.
  • The smoker is safe and easy to use. Please ensure you only use your smoker at the correct pressure the smoker is designed for.
  • In the event of a gas leak, Turn off the gas supply at the gas bottle, extinguish any open flames, open lid and if leak continues, check for damages, poor connections etc. Contact your local gas dealer immediately if the problem can’t be solved.
  • Do not move smoker during use.
  • Do not use or store any liquids, vapors or other materials in the vicinity when operating the smoker.
  • This smoker only to be used outdoors.

  • Care is advised when operating your smoker, you should never leave unattended when in use. Turn off the gas supply at the gas container after use.
  • The smoker should be cleaned after use. Don’t obstruct the fire opening of the container compartment. If the fire opening is obstructed, please use ,1.6mm round stick to dredge.
  • Take care not to enlarge burner ports or orifice/nozzle openings when cleaning the burner or valves.
  • Do not attempt to use this smoker in a garage or any enclosed area. Also this smoker must be keep away from flammable materials, etc. We recommend keeping a distance of at least 0.5 to 1.0 meter clear of any flammable materials.
  • We would recommend that this smoker should be serviced by your local gas retail outlet at least once a year by a competent engineer. Do not attempt to service this smoker yourself.
  • Any modification of the smoker may be dangerous. Do not attempt any unauthorized interference of the main controls on this smoker, i.e. gas taps, injectors, valves etc.
  • Always test gas line for leaks at connector with soapy water after making connections.
  • The top lid must always be open when lighting the burner.
  • Use oven gloves and sturdy, long handled smoker tools when cooking on the smoker.
  • Be prepared if an accident or fire should occur. Know where the first aid kit and fire extinguishers are and know how to use them.
  • Keep any electrical supply cord and the fuel supply hose away from any heated surfaces.
  • Always cook with great care.
  • Do not heat any unopened glass or metal container of food on the smoker. Pressure may build up and cause the container to burst, possibly resulting in serious personal injury or damage to the smoker.

GETTING STARTED

  • Choose the proper regulator according to smoker category and gas pressure in the table above, for example, Use 37-mbar regulator with smoker category I3+ for propane gas.
  • Marking on injector, for example,0.86 indicates that the size of the injector is 0.86 mm.

Make sure your smoker is assembled properly. Detailed assembly instructions are packed with each smoker giving specific assembly procedures for each model. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure the correct and safe assembly of the smoker.
Caution: Although we take every effort to ensure that the assembly process is as easy as possible, it is inherent with fabricated steel parts that corners and edged can cause cuts if improperly handled during assembly procedures. Be careful while handling any parts during assembly. It is strongly recommended that you protect hands with a pair of work gloves.

Preparation

  • You will need LPG gas bottle and proper regulators under the gas pressure to operate this gas grill. The regulators should be comply with EN12864 with current version and national regulation.
  • After purchasing your gas cylinder you will then be ready to set it up with your gas grill.
  • When changing the gas cylinder which shall be carried out away from any source of ignition. Position the gas cylinder at left side or inside of your BBQ, keeping in mind that the bottle must be kept away from heat and in a safe position.
  • When ready to use your gas grill insert the regulator into the gas bottle valve and tighten firmly.

Warning
Danger of fire
Before attempting to light your gas grill you must refer to your lighting instructions and warning/safety points.
Check the hose before each use, searching for cracking, cuts or any abrasions. If the hose is found to be faulty in any way do not attempt to use your gas grill.
When changing your gas bottle ensures that there are no sources of ignition close by i.e. fires, cigarettes, naked flames etc. Make sure that the appliance is switched off.

  • Please choose flexible hose whose heatproof higher than 80,
  • Flexible tube should be changed every 2 years; It’s necessary to change the flexible tube when the national conditions require it.

How to change your cylinder

  • Choose the proper regulator according to appliance category and gas pressure in the table above, for example, Use 37mbar regulator with appliance category I3+ for propane gas.
  • Marking on injector, for example,0.82 indicates that the size of the injector is 0.82 mm.

How to connect a gas bottle

  1. Turn the orange cap so that the arrow is pointing to the gap in the shroud.
  2. Remove the orange safety cap by pulling the lanyard out, then out. Do not use tools. Leave the cap hanging.
  3. Check that the black sealing washer is fitted inside the cylinder valve. Connect the regulator to the valve.
  4. Turn the switch clockwise on gas bottle-then turn on the gas grill as instructed.

Warning
Danger of fire
Always test gas line for leaks at connector with soap water finishing all connections.

How to disconnect a gas bottle

  1. Except for twin-cylinder installations with a changeover valve, turn off the gas tap if fitted to the smoker. Wait until the burner and pilot light have gone out. For installations with a changeover valve, it is only necessary to switch off the empty cylinder.
  2. Replace the orange safety cap onto the empty cylinder.

Warning
Danger of scalding
The handle black area (see above picture for reference) will become hot when the gas grill in use, be careful! Do not touch the black area.

USE

Using wood chips or chunks
Dried aromatic wood chips or chunks need to be saturated with water so that when placed in the box, a smoldering smoke will result. Wood chips or chunks cannot be soaked too long; however, 2 hours is adequate. As a rule of thumb, use wood chunks for smoking 3 or more hours and wood chips when smoking less than 3 hours. Start with 3 wood chunks or ½ cups of wood chips.
Spray inside door and body with nonstick vegetable oil-based spray. Place water pan onto the brackets in the smoker chamber. Using a 4 quart (one gallon) container fill the water pan 2/3 full with hot tap water. Do not overfill the water pan

Water or juice?

  • Placing water alone in the water pan is adequate; however, it is not the only viable choice. Fruit juice, cola, beer, wine, drained marinades and even
the water in which the wood has soaked make flavourful sources. In addition, celery stalks, onions, carrots, apples, peppercorns and bay leaves are just a few of the other popular flavour sources to add to the water pan.

  • Before each use, inspect the interior of the unit for loose particle buildup. Clean away any loose or flaking residue so it will not fall onto food while being cooked.

  • Before cooking, coat cooking grates with oil or with a vegetable oil based spray. Using oven mitts, carefully place cooking grates into smoker. Larger cuts of meat or food that cook for long periods of time should be placed on the lower cooking grate. If you are cooking foods with several pieces, such as racks of ribs or Cornish hens, be sure to allow adequate spacing for even heat circulation. Using oven mitts, carefully insert upper cooking grate into smoker. Smaller food items require less cooking time and should be placed on the upper cooking grate. After filling the smoker, close the door and leave undisturbed until suggested minimum cooking time.

  • Meats that require extended cooking time to reach doneness may require additional water. Check water level periodically and add more hot water as necessary.

  • Use a meat thermometer for measuring the internal heat of any food. The appearance of smoked foods resembles no other method of cooking, particularly in light-colored meats such as pork, turkey, chicken, and Cornish hens. The outside will be pinkish-red while the inside when cooked to perfection, is often pink. The juices from fully cooked poultry will run clear when pierced with a fork. Shrimp should be resilient to the touch when done. Remove foods from smoker before carving. To brown meats, cook for an additional ½ hour or more with no water in water pan.

  • Performance of the smoker is dependent on ambient temperature and wind conditions. With temperature below 15 °C and winds of 8 km/h or more, the smoker can lose a significant amount of heat and it may not be possible to raise internal temperature of meat high enough to cook it in a reasonable time.

  • You may use your smoker without water in the water pan. However, DO NOT use the smoker without the water pan properly installed. To do so will allow grease and drippings from the food being cooked to drop through the unit and onto the floor or surface on which the units sits.

  • Brush poultry and naturally lean meats with cooking oil, butter or margarine before cooking.

  • When cooking more than one piece of meat, the cooking time is determined by the largest piece being cooked.

  • The meat bastes itself during cooking. No basting or turning is necessary while cooking in the smoker. For variety marinade or barbeque sauce may be applied before placing into the smoker.

  • Resist the temptation to open the door during cooking time. Opening the door will cause a loss of heat, which will result in longer cooking times.

Lighting instructions

Warning
Danger of burning

Danger of deflagration
If the burner still does not light ,turn the gas control knob to “• OFF” and wait for 2 minutes for the unburnt gas to evaporate before lighting again.

CLEANING AND CARE

General cleaning instructions

  • Do not mistake brown or black accumulation of grease and smoke for paint. Interiors are not painted at the factory (and should never be painted). Apply a strong solution of detergent and water or use a grill cleaner with scrub brush on insides of smoker lid and bottom. Rinse and allow to completely air dry. Do not apply a caustic grill/oven cleaner to painted surfaces.
  • Plastic parts: Wash with warm soapy water and wipe dry. Do not use citrisol, abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or a concentrated grill cleaner on plastic parts. Damage to and failure of parts can result.
  • Painted surfaces: Wash with mild detergent or non-abrasive cleaner and warm soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft non-abrasive cloth.
  • Stainless steel surfaces: To maintain the high-quality appearance, wash with mild detergent and warm soapy water and wipe dry with a soft cloth after each use. Baked-on grease deposits may require the use of an abrasive plastic cleaning pad. Use only in direction of brushed finish to avoid damage. Do not use abrasive pad on areas with graphics.
  • Cooking surfaces: If a bristle brush is used to clean any of the grill cooking surfaces, ensure no loose bristles remain on cooking surfaces prior to grilling. It is not recommended to clean cooking surfaces while grill is hot.
  • Turn the burner on for 15 to 20 minutes. Ensure smoker is cold before continuing.
  • Grids should be cleaned periodically by soaking and washing in soapy water.
  • The interior surfaces of the smoker housing cover should also be washed with hot, soapy water. Use a wire brush, steel wool or a scouring pad to remove stubborn spots.
  • Periodically check the burner to see that it is free from insects and spiders which may clog the gas system, deflecting gas flow. Ensure to clean venturi pipes on burner very carefully, make sure that there are no obstructions. We recommend that you use a pipe cleaner to clean the venturi pipe area.
  • Any modifications of this smoker may be dangerous and are not permitted.

Storage

  • Your Gas Bottle must be stored outdoors in a well ventilated area and must be disconnected from your smoker when not being used. Ensure that you are outdoors and away from any sources of ignition before attempting to disconnect your gas bottle from your smoker.
  • When you are using your smoker after a period of storage, please ensure to check for gas leaks and check for any obstructions in the burner etc. before using. Also follow the cleaning instructions to ensure smoker is safe.
  • If smoker is stored outdoors ensure to check that all areas under the front panel are free from any obstructions (insects etc.) This area must be kept free as this may affect the flow of combustion or ventilation air.
