Introduction
The Pyle PLMRMP1B provides high-quality audio amplification for your boat or another marine vehicle. It comes with a waterproof plastic bag, a marine-ready four-channel power amplifier with an output of up to 800 watts, and a waterproof stereo 3.5mm-to-RCA adaptor for connecting nearly any audio source, including your iPod or another MP3 player. A customized waterproof bag is also included to keep your equipment secure while you listen to your favorite music. To keep your gear safe, the amp has high and low-level inputs, an electronic crossover network, power protection circuitry, and an anti-thump turn-on. The accompanying wired volume control mounts easily to your vehicle’s dashboard and gives you a simple way to manage your music while at the helm.
Installation Precautions
- Before you drill or cut any holes, investigate your vessel’s layout very carefully.
- Take special care when you work near the gas tank, fuel lines, hydraulic lines, and electrical wiring.
- Never operate the amplifier when it is unmounted. Attach all audio system components securely within the amplifier to prevent damage, especially in an accident.
- Do not mount this amplifier so that wire connections are unprotected, in a pinched condition, in contact with any metal surfaces in your marine vessel, or likely to be damaged by nearby objects.
- Before making or breaking power connections in your system, disconnect the marine vessel battery. Confirm that your head unit or other equipment is turned off while connecting the input jacks and speaker terminals.

If you need to replace the power fuse, replace it only with a fuse identical to that supplied with the amplifier, Using a fuse of a different type or rating may result in damage to your audio system or your amplifier which is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Don’t misuse the level control.
- Do not mistake the input level control for volume control! It is designed ONLY to match the output level of your audio source to the input level of your amplifier.
- Do not adjust this input level to maximum unless your input level requires it.
- Ignoring these instructions will result in an input overload to the amplifier and excessive audio distortion. It can also cause the protection circuit to engage
Controls, Input, and Output Cables
The switches and gain settings are located behind a watertight plug, which also lights up when the amplifier is on. Be sure to replace the plug when finished with adjustments.
-
The INPUT LEVEL switch selects the input sensitivity of the amplifier. If you are connecting to a LINE level source (typically any RCA type connection) then the switch should be in the LINE (out) position. When connecting to loudspeaker outputs or headphones or high-level sources then set the switch to the SPEAKER (in) position.
-
The POLARITY switch allows the user to optimize bass performance in the case that there is more than 1 set of loudspeakers producing bass in the system. Play some music with strong bass content and listen with the switch alternately in the NORMAL and REVERSE position until it can be determined which setting results in a more pleasing bass response.
If in doubt, or if any interaction with other speakers is unlikely, then leave the switch in the NORMAL position. -
The GAIN control adjusts the overall level of the amplifier. When using the amplifier without volume control the level should be set to achieve a balance with other loudspeakers in the system. As arule, keep the gain setting as low as possible while still ensuring that the system will reach full output power. When using the system with external volume control, set the external Volume Control to FULL (clockwise) and adjust the gain on the amplifier until full output power is reached.
Full output power level can be determined by turning the gain control clockwise until the apparent loudness does not appear to increase anymore. Leave the control at the setting where this begins to become apparent.
- VOLUME CONTROL Plug for the waterproof remote volume control. When installed, this control will turn off the Marine Amplifier Kits when turned all the way down.
- INPUT Stereo RCA audio input for connecting other audio devices.
- To Connect Bluetooth
- Turn on the amplifier, the red Bluetooth indicator LED keeps blinking at this moment.
- Look for the “Bluetooth” function in your phone setting and open it.
- Search the Bluetooth device which is “Pyle amplifier”. After you connect the Bluetooth successfully, the red Bluetooth indicator LED will stay on
Only models PLMRMB4CW and PLMRMB4CB feature built-in Bluetooth.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I have a plr44mu radio w/ 4 speakers. will this amp work and sound good on my motorcycle?
Terrible amp, don’t buy. It is underpowered and overrated. -
Does anyone know the amperage requirements? I’m thinking about using this on an antique motorcycle that only has a 19 amp charging system. I would like some music, but not at the expense of discharging the bike battery while riding
Not sure what the requirements are but I run mine off of a 10 amp 12-volt deer feeder battery that runs my 32 qt ice chest radio powering 4, 6″ 8 olm 120-watt speakers. A fully charged battery will last about 18 hrs. -
Can this be bridged to 3 channels? Channels 1 and 2 powering 2 speakers and channels 3 and 4 bridged to power a small sub?
It has Four channels, wired speakers from the Amp., Eliminate speaker wires from the radio, from the radio to the AMP Two RCA PLUGS to the Amp, and there are two extra RCA plugs to hook up an I-pod or other device! The speaker wires are marked Left and right sides Four-channel and Front and Rear, Yes you could use one side for the Sub Woofer channel I use Four, one for each ChannelSpeakers. -
Is there a line out that I could hook up a small sub to this?
I don’t remember a dedicated line. I have mine set up side by side, so I can’t look. I think there were just 4 sets of wires for the speakers. I only used 2 sets, so If you’re the same you would have 2 sets to use to power a small subwoofer. -
How do I hook this amp into my deck, it doesn’t have any male adapters?
You would use an RCA cable to connect the RCA pre-outs on the head unit to the RCA inputs on the amp. Hope this helped. -
Can this amp be submerged in water?
You could leave it in a bucket of water and it won’t affect it, the amp doesn’t work anyway. I wouldn’t waste my time or money on this product. -
Can this be used for 2 channel speakers?
Yes, you can use 2 speakers for this unit. This amp can handle 200 watts per channel. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PLMRMP3B for more details. -
Will this run 2 Jl audio 7.7?
Yes this will run them fine it’s not super high quality but the amps work pretty well. -
Does this really have 4 channels (4 independent inputs driving 4 separate outputs)? Or is it a stereo amp that can drive two speakers per channel?
If this is the amp you’re talking about we never hooked it up so I’m afraid we won’t be much help we ended up not needing an amp at all we just replaced our speakers. -
Can this amp run 2 ten inch speakers?
It can run any 2 or 4-ohm speaker. -
will this amp power two Pyle 8″ 4ohm 400w subs?? and can I hook 2 channels 2 each sub..ie bridging 2 channels for each sub??
Don’t know if it will hold that much power it’s for 6.5 and down.
