1. Introduction

To all residents of the European Union Important environmental information about this product

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal   of the device after its lifecycle could harm the environment. do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal waste it should be taken to a specialized company for recycling. This device should be returned to your distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental rules.

2.Safety Instructions

Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using this appliance.

  • This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the device in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. 
  • Protect this device from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 
  • Do not remove the cover under any conditions. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Never operate this device when its cover is removed. 
  • Familiarize yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it. 
  • Not for commercial use!

3. General Guidelines

  • Refer to the Velleman ® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.  
  • All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
  • Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorized way will void the warranty.
  • Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
  • Nor Velleman nv nor its dealers can be held responsible for any damage (extraordinary, incidental or indirect) – of any nature (financial, physical…) arising from the possession, use or failure of this product.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.

4. Batteries

WARNING

Do not puncture batteries or throw them in fire as they may

explode. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.

  • Open the battery compartment and insert the batteries according to the correct polarity. 
  • Replace the batteries as soon as the display turns dark.
  • Remove the batteries after use.

6. Surgery

6.1 General Operations

  1. Place the scale on a solid, level and non-slippery surface. 
  2. Switch on the scale. The scale is ready to use when the display shows 0. 
  3. Place the item to be weighed or the tare item in the middle of the weighing platform.
  4. To tare an item, tap the tare button. Place the item to be weighed on the scale. 
  5. The weight is displayed.

6.2 Unit Conversions

Press the unit button until the desired weighing unit is displayed.

6.3 Price Calculations

  1. Press the memory bank button to select a memory bank. 
  2. Press the memory button to enter the memory bank.
  3. Enter the unit price. Press the delete button to delete your entry. 
  4. Press the memory button to memorize your entry in the memory bank. Place the item in the middle of the weighing platform and read the results from the display.  

6.4 Calibration

  1. Press the calibration button until the scale enters the calibration mode. 
  2. Briefly press the calibration button again. The required weight appears on the display. 
  3. Place the required weight in the middle of the weighing platform. 
  4. The scale will calibrate automatically and return to the normal weighing mode.

6.5 Error Indications

0-Ld overloaded Remove excess weight.
Lo Battery power running low.

7. Cleaning and maintenance

  • Occasionally wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new.
    Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.

  • Do not immerse the device in any liquid.
