SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference or for new users.

  • When using electrical appliances, basic precautions must always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury.
  • Make sure the voltage of your mains supply matches the voltage requirements specified in the rating label of the appliance.
  • We recommend that the room where you intend to use the appliance is equipped with a working extractor fan or is well-ventilated.
  • Use the device only for the purposes described in this instruction manual, any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and could have a detrimental effect on the lifespan of the appliance and/or the safety of the user.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before moving it, carrying out any cleaning or maintenance task, or when not in use.
  • Do not operate outdoors.
  • Do not twist, bend, strain, or damage the power cord in any way. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Do not let it touch hot surfaces. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the working surface or countertop.
  • Do not use extension cords, unless advised by a qualified electrician.
  • Do not use the appliance if its cord, plug, or housing is damaged, nor after it malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any way.
  • The appliance must not be used in potentially dangerous locations, such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden, or wet atmospheres, or near flammable materials.
  • Place the fryer on an even, heat-resistant surface. Do not place the device near heat sources, places with high humidity levels, or combustible materials.
  • There are no internal serviceable parts. Do not attempt to disassemble the appliance.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust openings, as it could cause an electrical shock or fire.
  • Do not turn the fryer on if there is no oil in the tank.
  • Do not fill the container with oil as this may cause a fire hazard.
  • Do not touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating. Be careful not to burn yourself.
  • Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the product in water or any other liquid. Do not expose the electrical connections to water.
  • Always put the ingredients to be fried inside the basket, to prevent them from coming into contact with the heating elements.
  • Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning or maintenance tasks, or when not in use. Allow it to cool down completely before attaching or removing parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not leave the fryer unattended while connected to the main supply.
  • Do not lean on the appliance during use.
  • Be careful not to touch the surfaces of the fryer as they will become hot when in use.
  • Cleaning and maintenance must be carried out according to this instruction manual to make sure the appliance functions properly. Turn off and unplug the appliance before moving and cleaning it. Allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or storing it.
  • Make sure the device is correctly plugged into a socket.
  • Do not place the appliance against a wall. Leave at least 10 cm of free space on the back and sides and 10 cm of free space above the appliance. Do not place anything on top of the appliance.
  • During operation, hot steam is released through the air outlet openings. Keep your hands and face at a safe distance from the steam and from the air outlet openings. Hot air may also come out when removing the basket from inside the device.
  • Unplug the device immediately if you see black smoke coming out of the device. Wait until the smoke disappears to remove the basket from the device.
  • We recommend the use of gloves when touching the basket and grill.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  • Place the fryer on an even, heat-resistant surface.
  • This product is designed only for household use.
  • Do not try to repair the device by yourself.
  • Always unplug the appliance after each use.
  • This appliance is not intended to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • The appliance is not intended to be used by children under the age of 8. It can be used by children over the age of 8, as long as they are given continuous supervision.
  • Keep this appliance and its power cord out of reach of children under the age of 8.
  • The cleaning and maintenance of the appliance should not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Supervise young children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.

BEFORE USE

  • Take the product out of the box.
  • Check for any visible damage. If any is observed, contact as soon as possible the Technical Support Service of Cecotec for advice or reparation.
  • Clean the basket and container thoroughly with hot water, washing-up liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Clean the inside and the outside of the device with a damp cloth.
  • Place the fryer on an even, heat-resistant surface. – Place the basket in the container.

Warning

  • Do not wet the heating element.
  • Do not the device with oil or any other liquid.
  • Do not place the device on any surface that is not heat-resistant.

OPERATION

  1. Plug the device into a power supply.

  2. Take the container and the basket out of the device carefully.

  3. Put the ingredients in the basket.

  4. Slide the container back into the device by aligning it with the guides in the body of the device.

  5. Set the required preparation time for the ingredient.
    Note
    Some ingredients require shaking halfway through the preparation time. To shake the ingredients, pull the container out of the appliance by the handle and shake it. Then slide the container back into the air fryer. Do not press the basket release button during shaking.
    Tips
    To reduce the weight, remove the basket from the container and shake the basket only. To do so, pull the container out of the appliance, place it on a heat-resistant surface, and press the button on the handle. Lift the basket out of the container.

  6. When the timer buzzer is heard, pull the container out of the appliance. If you want to turn the device off before the set time has elapsed, turn the set time to 1 minute or hold down the power button for 3 seconds. Off will appear on the control panel.

  7. Check if the ingredients are ready.

  8. If the ingredients are not ready yet, simply slide the container back into the appliance and set the timer to a few extra minutes.

  9. To remove ingredients, pull the container out of the device, and place it on a heatproof surface. Press the basket release button and lift the basket out of the container.

  10. Empty the basket into a bowl or onto a plate.

  11. When a batch of ingredients is ready, the device is instantly ready for preparing another batch.

Warning

  • Never use the container without the basket in it.
  • Do not touch the container during and immediately after use, as it gets very hot. Only hold the container by the handle.
  • Do not turn the basket upside down with the container still attached to it, as any excess oil that has been collected on the bottom of the container will leak onto the ingredients.
  • The container and the ingredients are hot. Depending on the type of ingredients in the air fryer, steam may escape from the pot.

Power (1)
Once the basket and the grill are properly placed in the main unit housing, the power button will light up. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds to set the preset frying temperature and time, 180 ºC, and 15 minutes. Press the power button again to start the frying process. Press the power button again for 3 seconds to turn the device off.
Note
While the device is operating, you can still touch the power button for pausing and resuming the frying process.
Mode (2)
Press the Mode button to choose between the 8 most popular food choices. All the modes have preset cooking temperatures and times. Press the mode button to start one of the 8 modes. Then, press the power button to activate it.

  1. Use these buttons to increase or decrease the cooking time and temperature (from 80 ºC to 200 ºC).
  2. To adjust the temperature, ess the temperature symbol and then + or -.
  3. To adjust the time, ess the time symbol (6) and then + or -.
  4. Hold down the symbol to increase or decrease rapidly.
  5. Once settings are selected, the display will light up showing the settings.

Note
Keep in mind that these are just indications. As ingredients differ in origin, size, shape, and brand, we cannot guarantee the best setting for the ingredients that you are using.
Tips

  • Smaller ingredients require shorter preparation time than larger ones.
  • A larger amount of ingredients only requires a slightly longer preparation time, and a smaller amount of ingredients only requires a slightly shorter preparation time.
  • Shaking small ingredients during the frying process optimizes the result and can help prevent unevenly fried ingredients.
  • Add some oil to the fresh potatoes for a crispier result.
  • Do not use the device to fry greasy food (such as sausages).
  • Food that can be cooked in an oven can also be cooked with the device.
  • The optimal amount for preparing crispy fries is 500 grams.
  • The pre-made dough requires a shorter preparation time than homemade dough.
  • You can also use the device to reheat ingredients. To do so, set the temperature to 150 ºC for 10 minutes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

  • Always clean the appliance after each use.
  • Disconnect the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
  • Do not use metallic tools or abrasive products to clean the basket and grill. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device’s surface.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean the product.
  • Remove the basket to let the device cool down more quickly.
  • Clean the device thoroughly with hot water, washing-up liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge.
  • We recommend the use of a degreasing liquid to remove any remaining dirt.
  • If dirt is stuck inside the basket or the bottom of the container, we recommend the basket with hot water mixed with washing-up liquid and then letting the basket and container dry for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Clean the inside of the device with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Clean the heating element with a soft cleaning brush to remove any food residue. Be careful not to damage the heating element.

Storage

  • Unplug the device and let it cool down.
  • Make sure all its parts are clean and dry when you store them.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause Solution
The device does not work. The product is not plugged in. Plug the device in.

Fried foodstuff is not crispy when they come out of the device.| You used a type of foodstuff that is meant to be prepared in a traditional deep fryer.| Oil the foodstuff a little bit to get a crispier result.
The container cannot be placed inside the device properly.| There are too many ingredients inside the basket.| Do not the basket beyond the Max mark.
The basket is not placed in the container correctly.| Push the basket down into the container until you hear a “click” sound.
White smoke comes out of the appliance.| You are preparing greasy ingredients.| When greasy foodstuffs are fried, a large amount of oil will leak into the container. Frying oil produces white smoke, and the container may heat up more than usual. This does not affect the appliance or the result.
The container is still greasy from previous uses.| White smoke is caused by heating up oil in the container. Make sure you clean the container properly after each use.
French fries are fried unevenly in the device.| The right kind of potato is not being used.| Use fresh potatoes and make sure they stay consistent while being fried.

The European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of with the normal unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances must be collected separately, in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment.
The crossed-out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation to dispose of the appliance correctly.
Consumers must contact their local authorities or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of old appliances and/or their batteries.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND WARRANTY

This product is under warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as the proof of purchase is submitted, the product is in perfect physical condition, and it has been given proper use, as explained in this instruction manual.
The warranty will not cover the following situations:

  • The product has been used for purposes other than those intended for it, misused, beaten, exposed to moisture, immersed in liquid or corrosive substances, as well as any other fault attributable to the customer.
  • The product has been disassembled, or repaired by persons, not authorized by the Technical Support Service of Cecotec.
  • Faults deriving from the normal wear and tear of its parts, due to use.

The warranty service covers every manufacturing defect of your appliance for 2 years, based on current legislation, except consumable parts. In the event of misuse, the warranty will not apply.
