INSTALLATION OF KPH TO MPH KIT
E0021 INSTALL
Please read the FAQs prior to installing. The following instructions are in
assumption the E0021 unit will be wired into the Subaru speedometer extension
harness, as found only on the 5 speed transmissions.
PLUG AND PLAY E0021 INSTALL
Located along the right side of the transmission, replace the factory
speedometer extension cord (~15.0” long) with the iaTUNING Plug and Play cord.
FAQ
WHY IS MY SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE BOUNCING?
The signal wire is sensitive to electrical interference commonly found inside the vehicle. For this reason, we recommend all wiring connections be performed within ~12” of the speed sending unit and not inside the vehicle.
WILL THE E0021 WITHSTAND THE ELEMENTS?
The circuit board’s lifespan will be shortened when located near an extreme heat source (Example: next to a down pipe). For this reason, an insulation barrier is suggested. The iaTUNING Plug and Play kit’s fire sleeve withstands 2,000F of intermittent heat as well as 500F of direct heat.
WHAT TYPE OF WIRING CONNECTION IS BEST?
To decrease the likelihood of corrosion, it is best to use sealed connections. The iaTUNING Plug and Play kit uses soldered connections with shrink tubing, but weather proof butt splices will also work.
IS THERE A WARRANTY?
Yes, the E0021 is warranted against defect for 30 days from date of original purchase. If the event of failure, then please contact us to arrange an exchange or product refund. iaTUNING is not responsible for electrical damage beyond the cost of the E0021 unit nor are we responsible for shipping fees for exchanged units. This is an imported item from the United Kingdom, which has limited support.
WILL THE ODOMETER READ OUT CHANGE?
Installation of this product will not change previously accumulated odometer values. After the install, all new odometer values accumulated will be in miles.
