Obtain the required tools and then follow the assembly instructions in this manual FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY CAUSE SERIOus INJURY. PLEASE KEEP THIS MANUAL FOR FUTURE REFERENCE AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

WARNING

  • Adult assembly required. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age prior to assembly as contents include small parts which could be an ingestion hazard for small children.
  • Before you allow your child to use this scooter, ensure that the steering rod is fully engaged and that all screws are foxed tight.
  • Protective equipment should be worn when using this scooter Ensure that your child always wears a helmet, wrist, elbow, and knee pads. Fully enclosed shoes with rubber soles are recommended.
  • Ensure that your child does not ride down any steep hills. The brake is not designed to decelerate from high downhill speeds.
  • Use only on a smooth, flat, paved, and dry surface free of sand, gravel or dirt Do not ride on wet, oily sandy, icy, rough, or uneven surfaces.
  • Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, and sudden surface changes.
  • Ensure that your child does not ride on roads, paths, or areas with motor vehicle traffic. Always follow local traffic laws.

  • Always check the brakes and fasteners before riding.
  • If screws are loose, retighten using the Alen Key supplied.
  • The brake pad becomes hot when used.
  • Make sure that your child does not keep the brake on for a long period of time.
  • Explain to your child that direct skin contact may cause bums Replace worn and damaged parts immediately.
  • Do not ride the scooter until parts have been replaced to prevent injuries
  • WARNING This scooter needs to be used with caution since skill is required to avoid falls or collisions causing injury to the users or third parties.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: This product contains small parts prior to assembly. Assembly must be performed by an adult

  1. Align the handlebar with the black head tube on the front of the shooter Align so the button and the bottom of the handlebar are facing the front and align with the buttonholes on the head tube. The slit on the bottom rear of the handlebar stem should align with the groove inside the headtubeSullivan Deluxe lean and glide tri Scooter-FIG-2
  2. Press the button and push the handlebar into the headtube until the button clicks into place

CAUTION: Take care when pushing the handlebar into the headtube. as tinger may jam in the headtube.

RIDING YOUR SCOOTER

GETTING STARTED

  • Keep both hands on the grip
  • Place one foot on the deck.
  • Push off the ground with your other foot in a long smooth motion to glide forward.
  • Position both feet on the deck one foot in front of the other while the scooter is in motion.
  • To turn, steer the handlebar in the direction you would like to turn
  • IMPORTANT: Practice foot positioning at slower speeds until you build still and experience. Shifting your foot position by lifting or placing your feet while traveling will affect the stability of the scooter. You will have to learn to maintain control while you move your feet on and off the deck of the scooter.

STOPPING AND BRAKING

  • The flex brake is a friction brake designed to sow the scooter, not stop it abruptly. Do not rely on it to stop the scooter very quickly.
  • To use the brake, press dawn in an on and off motion with your back foot so that the brake touches the rear wheel. The scooter will slow down and eventually come to a complete stop.
  • The brake will become hot by the friction when used. DO NOT touch the flex brake after braking.
  • Do not skid. Skidding will cause a flat spot in the tire of your scooter. If you have a flat spot, the wheel rotation can become rough or unstable.

IMPORTANT: Before riding. be sure to practice applying the brake. Practice in an area free of potential traffic hazards and other pedestrians.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Properly maintaining your scooter will provide years of riding. To keep your scooter in good working order, check your scooter prior to every use to ensure it is properly set up and all fasteners are locked and tightened. After every ride, check over your scooter for any signs of damage and clean your scooter with a damp cloth to remove all dirt and grime

  • Only clean your scooter with ordinary household dish soap and water using a soft cloth.
  • Do not use a power washer, alcohol, or abrasive industrial solvents or cleaners to clean.
  • Do not use an abrasive material to clean the surface. These items can damage the finish or decals.

WEEKLY SERVICE

  • (Must be performed by an adult)
  • Apply a few drops of general-purpose oil to the bearings and make sure the axle screws are tight
