SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance may be used by children from the age of 8 and up, and also by persons with a physical or sensorly limitation, as well as mentally limited persons or persons with a lack of experience and knowledge. But only on the condition that these persons have received the necessary instructions on how to use this appliance in a safe way and know the dangers that can occur by using this appliance. Children cannot be allowed to play with the appliance. Maintenance and cleaning of the appliance may not be done by children, unless they are older than 8 years old and are under supervision. Keep the appliance out of reach of children younger than 8 years old. This appliance is suitable to be used in a household environment and in similar surroundings such as:

  • Kitchen for personnel of shops, offices or other similar professional surroundings
  • Farms
  • Hotel or motel rooms and other surroundings with a residential character
  • Guest rooms or similar

Attention: This appliance cannot be used with an external timer or a separate remote control.

  • Read all instructions before use.
  • Before use, check if the voltage stated on the appliance corresponds with the voltage of the power net at your home.
  • Do not let the cord hang on a hot surface or on the edge of a table or counter top.
  • Never use the appliance when the cord or plug is damaged, after malfunction or when the appliance itself is damaged. In that case, take the appliance to the nearest qualified service center for check-up and repair.
  • Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near or by children.
  • The use of accessories that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer can cause fire, electrical shock or injuries.
  • Unplug the appliance when it is not in use, before assembling or disassembling any parts and before cleaning the appliance. Put all buttons and knobs into the ‘off’ position and unplug the appliance by grasping the plug. Never unplug by pulling the cord.
  • Do not leave a working appliance unattended.
  • Never place this appliance near a gas stove or electrical stove or in a place where it may come into contact with a warm appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Only use the appliance for its intended use.
  • Always use the appliance on a steady, dry and level surface.
  • Only use the appliance for domestic use. The manufacturer can not be held responsible for accidents that result from improper use of the appliance or not following the instructions described in this manual.
  • All repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer or its aftersales service.
  • Never immerse the appliance, the cord or the plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Make sure that children do not touch the cord or appliance.
  • Keep the cord away from sharp edges and hot parts or other heat sources.
  • Before use, remove all packaging materials and any promotional stickers.
  •  Hot oil can cause serious burns. When the appliance is on, it will be warm and stay warm some time after you have turned off the deep fryer. Do not touch any hot surfaces, such as the inner pot. Don’t move the appliance when it is operating or when it is still hot. Use the handles to move the appliance.
  • Make sure that the appliance is dry. Remove any loose ice from frozen foods. Gently sink the basket in the oil. Be careful, the oil might splash. Always use the handle to remove the basket from the pot, and let the food drip for about 10 to 20 seconds.
  • Don’t use the appliance when there is still water in the frying pan.
  • Always place the deep fryer on a heat resistant flat, horizontal surface.
  • The amount of oil in the pan should always be above the minimum level. Don’t use the appliance when there is too much, too little or no oil in the pan.
  • Don’t place any flamable objects near the frying pan. If the oil is on fire, pull the plug from the socket. Don’t ever try to put out the fire with water.
  • In deepfryers with a removable heating element you should never use solid frying fat, only use liquid oil.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. Remove all packaging materials.

  2. Before first use clean the deep fryer according to the instructions.

  3. Place the deep fryer on a horizontal, heat resistant surface.

  4. Open the lid and remove the basket. Attach the handle to the basket. To do this: squeeze the two metal ends together, insert the 2 pins into the 2 openings in the basket and release the 2 ends. Place the handle in a horizontal position until it clicks.

  5. Fill the oil container with liquid oil, suitable for heating, until the oil level is situated between the “MIN” and “MAX” level indicated in the oil container. Don’t ever use the appliance when there is too much or too little oil in the container.

  6. Place the basket back into the container.

  7. Place the plug in the outlet. The red light will light up.

  8. Switch on the appliance by turning the temperature knob.

  9. Select the desired temperature with the temperature knob. The oil will start to heat up. The green light will go on when the desired tempeature is reached. The deep fryer is now ready for use. When the temperature of the oil drops, the temperature indicator light will go out and will go on again when the desired temperature is reached again.

  10. Place the basket with the support onto the edge of the fryer and place the food you wish to fry in the basket. For an optimal baking result, only fill half of the basket. Carefully place the basket back into the oil.
    Note: to preserve the quality of the oil, it is recommended to spice up the food after frying.

  11. Remove the basket from the oil and check if the food is thoroughly cooked.

  12. Let the food drip for 10 to 12 seconds.

AFTER USE

  1. Turn the temperature knob to the minimum.
  2. Remove the plug from the outlet.
  3. Place the basket back in the oil container.
  4. Close the lid.
  5. Wait for the deep fryer to cool down completely before storing it.

CLEANING THE APPLIANCE

Switch off and unplug the appliance before cleaning it.

CLEANING OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE
Clean the outside of the deep fryer after every use with a damp cloth, soaked in a bit of soapy water. The control panel cannot be put in water or any other liquid.

CLEANING OF THE INSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE
Clean the inside of the deep fryer every time you change the oil. Clean it as described below, to keep your deep fryer in optimal condition.

  1. Remove the lid.
  2. Take out the frying basket.
  3. Remove the heating element from the oil container.
  4. Lift the container out of the steel housing and pour the oil out of the container. Remove any food residues with household paper. The tough spots can be removed with a kitchen sponge, nylon brush or cloth, with mild soapy water.
  5. The frying basket and oil container are dishwasher safe. Clean the lid with a soft damp cloth, and maybe a little mild detergent.
  6. Dry the lid, frying basket and oil container thoroughy before placing them into the fryer.
  7. To place back the heating element: first place the oil container into the housing and then slide the heating element in the 2 slots at the back of the fryer. The safety button is now automatically pressed in, so that the heating element can be heated up.

MAINTENANCE OF THE APPLIANCE

  1. The temperature and the frequency in use are the most important factors for the deterioration of the frying fat.
  2. For tasteful and healthy frying it is advisable to change the oil regularly. Furthermore, will regular changing of the oil makes cleaning of the pot and the basket a lot easier.
  3. Some foods such as foods coated with breadcrumbs or spicy foods and meats, can make the oil deteriorate faster. Change the oil when it gets dark or dirty or starts to smoke or foam abnormally.
  4. Change the oil completely, don’t mix old oil with new oil.
  5. Regular filtering of the oil will improve the quality of the fried foods, but won’t make the oil deteriorate any slower.
  6. Store the frying oil in a cool dark place. When you rarely use your deep fryer, change the oil every 5 to 6 months.
  7. Dispose of the frying oil according to the regulation in your town. Never pour old fat or oil into the sink or toilet. This can cause blockage of the drainpipe and is not ecologically responsible.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Deep-frying oil/fat chance

  • Groundnut oil: after 8 to 10 baking sessions
  • Vegetable oil: after 10 to 12 baking sessions
  • Olive oil: after 8 to 10 baking sessions
  • Note: The above-mentioned recommendations are based on an average family and a normal use.

CULINARY TIPS

  1. Every time you heat up the oil, it will diminish the quality of the oil. Switch off the deep fryer after every use.
  2. Replace the oil or fat regularly, especially when the fat is dark or dirty, or when it foams abnormally.

FRENCH FRIES

  1. Use thick, not too new potatoes. Cut them up in sticks. Clean the sticks under running water and dry them off.
  2. Bake your fries in two times:
    • First frying: 150-160°C: 5 to 10 minutes (depending on the amount)
    • Second frying: 175°C: 2 to 5 minutes
  3. Let them drip thoroughly before serving.

FROZEN FOODS

  1. Frozen foods cool of the oil or fat strongly. Therefore don’t use any large portions.
  2. Shake the foods above the sink to remove most of the ice.
  3. Set the temperature knob to 175°C. Place the basket slowly and gently into the oil container, to prevent strong bubbling of the oil.

WARRANTY

This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it
