FUNCTIONS

REDSUB RS-BA-300C Combo Bass Amplifier - fig

FRONT PANEL

  1. INPUT CONNECTOR
Plug your instrument into one of these two 6.3mm TS jack connections. LOW input is designed for active instruments (such as an active bass guitar that requires battery power), and HIGH input is designed for passive instruments.

  2. GAIN CONTROL
Control the amount of gain applied to the input signal. As you turn the dial clockwise, the input signal will clip and create more distortion.

  3. COMPRESSION ACTIVE INDICATOR
This LED will illuminate only when the compression circuitry is in use. This requires the compression switch to be depressed.

  4. COMPRESSION SWITCH
Turns the compressor on and off. When on, the dynamic range of the input signal is reduced, boosting quieter signals and reducing louder signals. Use the gain control and boost control to create your desired results.

  5. COMPRESSION POWER INDICATOR
This LED will illuminate only when the compression switch has been depressed, showing that the compression circuit has been engaged and ready for use.

  6. BOOST CONTROL
Control the amount of volume boost added at the preamp, increasing gain saturation and volume, while enhancing the effectiveness of the compression control.

  7. BASS EQ CONTROL
This dial adjusts the overall low-frequency response for the speaker, acting as a low-frequency shelf.

  8. 7-BAND GRAPHIC EQ CONTROL
Using the 7 individual controls, adjust the frequency response of the audio signal to your desired sound.

  9. TREBLE EQ CONTROL
This dial adjusts the overall high-frequency response for the speaker, acting as a high-frequency shelf.

  10. LIMITER OFF SWITCH
When this switch is depressed, the limiter on the output volume is disengaged. Releasing activates the limiter, which works in conjunction with the master volume control to limit the overall output volume. Having the limiter activated will also prevent the speaker from being “overdriven”, which can cause damage to your speaker

  11. LIMITER ACTIVE INDICATOR
This LED will illuminate when the limiter is activated (when the limiter off switch is released).

  12. MASTER VOLUME CONTROL
This controls the overall output volume sent to the internal speaker.
NOTE – this dial will also control the volume sent to the external speaker connection.

  13. AUXILIARY INPUT
Connect an external audio device (such as a phone or mp3 player) to this connection using aTRS 3.5mm minijack cable.

  14. DI OUTPUT
Connect to a PA or mixer, using a balanced XLRcable.
NOTE – this connector will send a “microphone level” (unpowered) signal from this connector, which will be unsuitable for connecting to a passive speaker cabinet.

  15. MAINS POWER SWITCH
This switch turns the mains power on and off without needing to disconnect the mains power cable.REDSUB RS-BA-300C Combo Bass Amplifier - fig

  16. MAINS POWER CONNECTOR
Connect the amplifier to mains power only using the power cable provided in the box.

  17. EFFECTS (SEND) CONNECTOR
Connect the amplifier to the input of an external effects machine using a 6.3mm TS jack cable.

  18. EFFECTS (RETURN) CONNECTOR
    Connect the amplifier to the output of an external effects machine using a 6.3mm TS jack +15 COMP 0dB 0  0 0 10 –5 +5 –15  NPUT GAIN  CTIVE ON BOOST 40Hz 80Hz 160Hz 400Hz 800Hz 2K BASS cable.

  19. TUNER OUTPUT CONNECTOR
Connect your amplifier to an external pedal tuner using a 6.3mm TS jack cable.

  20. HORN SWITCH
Use this switch to turn off the high-frequency horn. Switching to ON will give the speaker more presence and clarity, whereas turning it off will give a deeper overall sound.

  21. EXTENSION SPEAKER OUTPUT
Connect the amplifier to an external speaker cabinet, using a 6.3mm TS speaker jack cable.NOTE – this output connection will send a “powered” output, making it unsuitable to connect to a PA, mixer, or other amplification. Ensure that this output is only connected to other external passive speaker cabinets, using a jack cable capable of taking the outputload.
