WARNING:
Prior to putting the fireplace into operation, carefully read the entire user‘s manual before first use and keep it with the product so that the user can become acquainted with it. If you lend or sell the product to somebody, include this user‘s manual with it. Prevent this user‘s manual from being damaged. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for damages or injuries arising from use that is in contradiction to this user‘s manual. Before using this appliance, first acquaint yourself with all the control elements and parts as well as how to turn it off immediately in the event of a dangerous situation arising. Before using, first check that all parts are firmly attached and check that no part of the appliance, such as for example safety protective elements, is damaged or incorrectly installed, or missing. Damage is, likewise, considered to constitute damaged or degraded insulation on the power cord or a damaged power cord plug. Do not use a appliance with damaged or missing parts and have it repaired or replaced at an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand – see chapter Servicing and maintenance, or the websi-te address at the introduction to this user‘s manual.

Attaching the feet

  • Prior to putting the fireplace into operation, screw the feet in the orientation shown in fig. 1 into the under-side of the fireplace.

Operating the fireplace

  • Prior to connecting the power cord plug into a el. power socket, first check that the power plug, the insulation of the power cord or parts of the fireplace are not damaged. In the event that they are damaged, do not connect the fireplace to an el. power socket and arrange replacement for a flawless unit from an authorised service centre for the Extol® brand (the service locations can be found at the website at the start of the user‘s manual).

ATTENTION

  • Prior to inserting the power cord of the fireplace into an el. power socket, first check that the voltage in the soc-ket is 220-240 V ~50/60 Hz. The fireplace is intended to be powered using the specified voltage at the specified frequency.

WARNING

  • When using the fireplace, follow the safety instructions in chapter V. (safety instructions).
FIREPLACE OPERATING CONTROLS
  • The fireplace operating controls on both fireplace models have the same function. Location of controls and numbering for explanation of their meaning is provided in fig. 2.
Fig. 2, position-description of the function of the controls:
  1. Power switch for turning the fireplace on/off
  2. Button „I“ for turning the low heating power on/off.
  3. Button „II“ for turning the high heating power on/off.
  4. Thermostat knob for setting the temperature in the room

To turn on the fireplace, set the On/Off switch to position „I“. If heating is not turned on using button „I“ and „II“, setting the power switch to position „I“ will only make the fireplace light up as a decoration. To turn on the lower heating power, set button „I“. To turn on the high heating power, button „I“ must be set and at the same time also button „II“ must be set. Setting button „II“ without setting button „I“ will not turn on the high heating power.

  • The fireplace cannot be in operation with the heating turned on and the decoration light turned off.
  • The temperature control knob (fig. 2, position 4) can be used to control the air temperature in the room when the fireplace is set to the heating mode.
