About these instructions
These instructions are an integral part of the product. Adherence to these instructions is a requirement for the intended use and correct operation of the product:
- Read these instructions before commencing any work and keep them in an ac- cessible place at all times.
- Before starting any work, read the detailed installation and operating instructions for the pump.
- Observe instructions and labeling on the pump.
Safety
-
WARNING
Note the safety instructions in the pump operating instructions as part of any work on the pump/system! -
DANGER
Risk of fatal electrical shock Exclusively carry out any work on the pump/system after it has been de-ener gised! -
WARNING
The danger of injury! Only carry out work on the pump/system using suitable tools and once it has come to a standstill. -
WARNING
Hot surface! The entire pump can become very hot. There is a risk of burns! Allow the pump to cool down before commencing any work -
WARNING
Risk of scalding! At high fluid temperatures and system pressures, allow the pump to cool down first and then depressurize the system.
Description of the pump
The Stratos MAXO /-D in the “-R7” are glandless pumps with a permanent magnet rotor. The Stratos MAXO-R7 does not have an integrated temperature sensor. This results in functional differences to Stratos MAXO pumps with an integrated tem- perature sensor.
Type key

Accessories
Accessories have to be ordered separately. For the Stratos MAXO in the “R7” version: Fluid temperature sensor (art. no. 2194058) for integrated installation in the pump housing
NOTICE
The control functions T-const. and AT-const. can be used with external sensors
(e.g.PT1000) connected to the analogue inputs All and AI.
NOTICE
In the temperature-controlled control modes T-const. and AT-const., the
“Internal sensor” is not available as sensor source T1 or T2.

Special features of the R7 version
The following of functions of the “R7” version are limited or unusable compared to the Stratos MAXO. Control functions that can only be used to a limited degree without an internal temperature sensor: T-const. AT-const. -
Control functions that cannot be used without an internal temperature sensor:
- Setback operation Heating/cooling switchover (automatic)
- Heat/cooling quantity measuring
The “Setback operation” function is not available in the menu under “Settings/Set control mode”. To use this function, order the initial temperature sensor as an accessory, install it and connect the sensor cable to the electronics. Then, the “Setback operation” option is shown in the menu again.
- Temperature display
Depending on the pump’s software version, fluid temperature “999.9 “C” is shown on the display. This is a feature to indicate an unfitted internal temperature sensor. This value, therefore, does not correspond to any real measured value.
By retrofitting the internal temperature sensor (spare part/accessory). the Stratos MAXO-R7 again corresponds toa Stratos MAXO in terms of its range of functions.
NOTICE
If the automatic “Heating/cooling switchover” option is selected in the menu,
the warning message W576 is displayed.
NOTICE
In the “Heat/cooling quantity measurement” function, “Internal sensor” cannot
be selected as a sensor source in the feed and return. Only sensors connected
to All and A12 can be selected.
