FALCON RIDGE HO-10002-FC04 Honda Pioneer 1000-2 Full Cab
Instructions for Installation and Care of Honda Pioneer 1000-2 Full Cab
with Aero-Vent Poly Windshield
HO-10002-FC04
Notice: Do not smoke inside the cab or expose the enclosure to direct
flames. Cab is Flammable.
Be sure to read these instructions thoroughly before opening and installing the enclosure. The installation is best done when the temperature is 70 degrees F. or warmer. The temperature affects the adhesive Velcro, if conditions prevent installing in warmer weather it helps to store the adhesive Velcro at room temperature prior to installation.
- Carefully open the carton and remove the enclosure on a large flat surface that is clean and free of dirt.
- Check over the parts included in the carton with the parts list shown below:
Adhesive Velcro Hook Strips
1. 1. Soft Doors
2. Rear Window
3. Poly Windshield
4. Top Cap
Soft Doors
-
Begin by placing the 5″, 6″ and 8″ adhesive Velcro strips in their place. The following pictures show where they go. If any parts are damaged or missing please contact customer service at606-845-7439.****The cab for your Honda Pioneer 1000 is made up of 5 different components that work together to enclose your vehicle. Install the cab in the following order.
-
Next hold the door up to the frame and attach these spots then continue attaching it using the double- sided Velcro strips sewn perpendicular to the edge of the door. At each of the double-sided strips take one of the 3″ adhesive Velcro strips and adhere it to the inside of the frame. Then wrap the double-sided strip around it so that the adhesive strip holds it firmly in place. The following diagrams show how it should look.
-
Once all the Velcro is attached securely take the snap studs and screw them into the plastic doors.
NOTE: It helps to put the snap studs into the sockets in the canvas first. Then one at a time push the screw into the plastic hard enough so that a mark is left behind. Pull the snap stud back out of the door and screw it into the plastic where the mark was made. snap the door in place and move on to the next one. See photo below.
-
To use door simply unzip it and pull down on it to release the magnets then reach in and open the plastic door. Once in lift door up so the magnets attach to the bar and zip closed.
REAR WINDOW
-
Begin by placing the 47″ adhesive Velcro strips across the top of the roll cage. Make sure to place it on top of the bar. Photo below shows how it should look.
-
Next attach the double-sided Velcro strips down the side bars. Start at the top and work your way down the tube. See photo below.
POLYCARBONATE WINDSHIELD
- Install using the directions included with the windshield. Do Not install top brace yet.
TOP CAP
-
After you have installed your Lexan windshield installed on your Honda you can take the straps with grommet holes in them and install it on the middle bolt of the windshield. Put the grommet through the bolt and reattach. The strap with loop should look like the photo below.
-
Next take the other two straps with Velcro sewn on one end and wrap them around the roll cage in the rear about 10-12″ below the door zipper. Be sure to wrap the 6″ adhesive strip completely around the bar and then tightly wrap the double-sided Velcro around the adhesive strip. See photo below.
-
Now place the top over the entire vehicle, the front of the top is identified by the sides being more steeply curved, and begin by lacing the front straps through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the front corners of the top. Diagram below shows how to use ladder buckle.
-
Now run those straps up and through the ladder lock buckles sewn to the rear of the top. You now need to tighten and loosen the strap of the top so that it is centered correctly.
-
Now install the top brace of the windshield over top of the front of the top cap. This seals it off so that less air gets into the cab. Take a small knife and poke the material where each hole is so that a bolt can get through. See photo below.
Cleaning and Storage Recommendations
- Before removing the Cab for storage, make sure it is very clean in order to prevent scratching of the window panels. Clean with a soft rag or sponge using a mild liquid detergent soap and warm water solution. Never rub the windows with a dry cloth or rag! Let the Cab dry thoroughly before attempting to roll for storage.
- It is important that the Cab be rolled up for storage rather than folding. Folding will cause damage to the windows!!! Carefully roll up the Cab similar to the way it was when it was packed at the factory. On a large, clean and flat surface, fold the doors over the rear panel first, then, interleave the top and windshield on top of the doors. Begin rolling the Cab into a roll approximately 8 inches in diameter. Put the rolled Cab back into the carton for storage at a normal room temperature. It is best not to expose the Cab to either extreme hot or cold temperatures when storing.
- A special cleaner conditioner is available from Ape Off-road that will greatly increase the service life of the Cab Enclosure. In addition, if additional hook and loop sets are needed, they can also be ordered.
