Notice

  1. To ensure an uninterrupted use of the device, please connect it to the car charger while recording to avoid sudden shutdown due to insufficient battery.
  2. Please power the device with the car charger provided.
  3. Make sure the camera lenses are clean and not blocked. 4
  4. It is recommended that you perform a pre installation test to ensure the device is in good condition.
  5. DO NOT leave the product where the temperatures may exceed 70°C (160 °F) for a long time to prolong its service life.

Tip:
When the touch screen is unresponsive or freezes, you can insert a pin into the Reset Hole on the back to reboot the dash camera.

Rear Camera Kit

Installation Instructions

Important
  1. The pre-install test is a must before final installation.

  2. Insert a formatted memory card (not included) into the prduct before your first use.
    Step 1:
    Tap to stop recording, then tap to enter the Settings.
    Step 2:
    Tap to select Format, then tap Confirm.
    Due to the data rate of the video being recorded, a reputable Class 10 or higher speed memory card must be used.

  3. Professional Installation of this product is generally recommended.
    Step 1:
    Mount the Mirror Dash Camera over the original rearview mirror of the vehicle with the provided Mounting Strap, then adjust the angle of it.

    Step 2: Connect one end of the Card Charger cable to the USB Input port on the topside of Mirror Dash Camera. Plug the other end of the Car Charger cable to the Cigarette Lighter Receptacle in the vehicle.

    Step 3: Attach the AV Out connecter of the Rear Camera Kit with the AV In port of the Mirror Dash Camera, then snake the black cable of the Rear Camera Kit through the body of your vehicle to the rear of it.
    Step 4: Set the vehicle in reverse gear, then identify the wire that is feeding the Revers Light from the rear light cluster. Tie the Red Trigger Wire with the positive terminal of the correct wire.
    Step 5: Mount the Rear Camera Kit to the rear of the vehicle.

Notes :

  1.  DO NOT connect the Red Trigger Wire with Brake Light or Tail Light.
  2. After installation, the mirror Dash Camera will display Rear Camera’s view by default when starting the engine.
  3. The Rear Camera will be triggered when reversing, and the view will be from the Rear Camera.
  4. For better viewing, please clen the lenses of both cameras after installing.

Get Started

Power On/Off

Option 1:

Start the engine to automatically power on the Mirror Dash Camera; stop the engine to automatically power it off.

After it is powered on, please tap to select your language. to stop the recording, then tap > >Language

Screen On/Off

Simply press the Power Button once to switch the screen of when the Mirror Dash Camera is ON; press it again or tap the touchscreen to wake the camera up.

Tip:
The Mirror Dash Camera can server as a standard rear-view mirror after screen off.

Function Overview

Main Interface

The das camera will automatically power on and start recording after the vehicle is ignited.

  1. Tap to mute/unmute the microphone.
  2. Tap to manually lock the current video that is recording to make sure it will not be overwritten or deleted; tap to start recording standard video again.
  3. Tap  to capture a photo and save it to the memory card.
  4. Tap  to end and save the recording into the memory card and enter Live  Mode; tap it again to get back to Video Mode.
  5. Tap to enter into Media Gallery and check all the videos/photos saved.
  6. Tap to switch among the view from the rear camera, the view from both cameras and the view from the front camera.
  7. Tap to enter Settings.

Notes:

  1. When the dash camera is recording, please tap to stop recording before you switch to Media Gallery or Settings.
  2. The bottom icons on the screen will be shown when the dash camera is powered    on, but they will be hidden after a few seconds. Tap the touchscreen to show them again.
Media Gallery

Tap to enter Media Gallery and you will see two folders named Front and Rear. Front folder contains the videos recorded and photos captured by the front camera; while the Rear folder contains the videos recorded and photos captured by the rear camera.

Check the Videos Recorded and Photos Captured by the Front/Rear

Camera Check the Normal Videos Recorded by the Front/Rear camera

Step 1: Tap to select the Front/Rear folder to check all the normal videos recorded by the Front/rear camera.

Step 2: Tap NORM folder to check the normal video files.

Step 3:
Select one video from the thumbnails.

Step 4:
Tap / to play/pause the video file.

Tips:

  1. Tap / to move the previous/next page to view all the normal video files with the format of thumbnails.
  2. Tap file. on the top right corner to manually lock/unlock the current video file.
  3. Tap to switch the ratio of the file.
  4. Tap to return to the previous interface.

Check the Photos Captured by the Front/Rear Camera

Step 1:
In the interface of video checking, tap .

Step 2:
Select one photo from the thumbnails.

Tips:

  1. Tap / to move to the previous/next page to view all the photo files with the format of thumbnails.
  2. Tap to switch the ratio of the file.
  3. Tap  to return to the previous interface.

Note:
The photo file cannot be locked.

Check the Locked Videos Recorded by the Front/Rear Camera

Step 1:
In the interface of photo checking, tap .

Step 2: Select one locked video from the thumbnails.

Step 3:
Tap  / to play/pause the video file.

Tips:

  1. Tap on the top right corner to manually unlock the locked video.
  2. Tap to switch the ratio of the file.
  3. Tap  ****to return to the previous interface.
Delete the Video/Photo/Locked Files

Option 1: Delete multiple files

Step 1: On the interface of thumbnails, tap **.
Step 2: Tap **on the thumbnails to select the files that need to be deleted.
Step 3: Tap to bring up the deletion option.
Step 4: Tap Confirm to delete the selected files.

Option 2: Delete a single file

On the interface of video playing and photo checking, tap to delete the current file.

Tip:

  • To delete the locked files, please tap  to unlock the files first.
File Transfer

Option 1:

Remove the memory card from the Mirror Dash Camera and insert it into a card reader (not supplied), then plug the card reader into a computer to make file transfer.

Option 2:

Directly connect the Mirror Dash Camera to a computer with a USB cable, then tap Memory Mode on the touch screen to use the dash camera as USB disk.

More Functions

Swipe upwards/downwards on the left pard of the touchscreen to see lens full field of view.

Swipe upwards/downwards on the right part of the touchscreen to adjust the brightness of the display.

Settings

Tap on the Main Interface, then tap to check all the available settings

Loop recording

Change the recording time of each vide.

Notes:

  1. If you choose a time length from 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minutes, the new files will overwrite the old one if the space of the memory card runs out.
  2. If you choose the option OFF, each recording will be saved with the time length of 5 minutes by default, but the dash camera will stop recording once the space of the memory card runs out.
Time-lapse monitoring

Set the frame rate of the video. The camera captures 30 frames per 1 s to merger them into a video by default (OFF). If you select 1 second, the das camera will capture 1 frame per 1 s and merge them into a video. Selecting 2 seconds indicates the das camera will capture 1 frame per 2 s, and selecting 3 seconds indicates the camera will capture 1 frame per 3 s.

Note:
An extra Hardwire Kit (not included) is recommended for using this function. Please contact VanTop support team for more information.

Exposure

Set the amount of light per unit area. Higher value results in a brighter image.

Motion detection

If the dash camera is powered on and not recording, the dash camera will automatically start recording a video when a moving object is detected. When there is no moving object, the camera will stop recording after 5 seconds. The video recorded is not locked.

Audio

Turn on/off the audio when recording

Gravity sensor

Set the different G-sensor sensitivity of collision detection when driving. You can select from Low, Medium, High and OFF as needed. When the dash camera is recording, if the car encounters a collision, the current video will be locked. Select High/Low implies the dash camera will lock the current video when the car encounters a minor/severe collision.

Parking guard

Set the different G-sensor sensitivity of collision detection when parking. You can select from Low, Medium, High and OFF as needed. When the dash camera is off, if the car encounters a collision, the das camera will automatically start recording a video for around 30 s. Select High/Low implies the dash camera will lock the current video when the car encounters a minor/sever collision.

An extra hardwire Kit (not included) is recommended for using this function. Please contact VanTop support for more information.

License plate number

Set to display the vehicle license on the lower left corner of the screen.

Screen protector

Select the time to screen off after a certain period of inactivity.

Automatic shut-down

Select a time duration, after which the dash camera will automatically power off.

Frequency

Select different frequency according to the power supply specification used in your country of geographical region.

Key sound

Turn on/off the sound when tapping the touch screen.

Language

Set the language that displays on the screen.

Date and Time

Set Date/Time that shows on the lower right corner of the display screen.

Summertime

Set to ON the clock will go forward by one hour. Set to OFF the clock will go back by one hour.

Stream Media

Set which camera’s view will be shown on the display screen when the dash camera is powered on. Set to ON (default setting) implies the view from the rear camera will be shown on the display screen. Set to OFF implies the view from the Front camera will be shown on the display screen.

Format

Set to format the memory card inserted. Please note that all the files in the card will be lost.

Default setting

Set the dash camera to default factory settings.

Version

Tap to check the version of the dash camera. The information may be required if technical support is needed.

**** Troubleshooting Guide

Q1: The dash camera stops recording after a period of a time.

  • Please check if the memory card is full of locked videos. If yes, please erase the unnecessary videos or format the memory card.
  • Make sure you select 1 minute, 3 minutes or 5 minutes when setting Loop Recording to prevent the dash camera from stopping recording once the space of the memory card is full.

Q2: The memory card can’t be read, or there is an error.

  • Make sure the memory card is installed correctly.
  • Install the memory card into a card reader, then connect it to a computer to format it into FAT32
  • When the camera is not recording, tap to enter Setting, then tap Format to format the memory card.
  • Try another Class 10 memory card with a well-known brand, such as SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung etc…

Q3: The dash camera restarts automatically.

  • Please check if the USB cable is in poor contact.
  • Remove the memory card to see whether it’s caused by the memory card.

Q4: The video recorded in the memory card is blurry or shows strips.

  • Please check whether the lens of the dash camera is dirty.
  • Please take off the protective film on the lens.
  • Please check whether the windshield of the vehicle is clean enough.
  • Please select the correct Frequency according to your country or geographical region.
Caution

Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of Used batteries according to the instructions.

Warranty Conditions

A new product purchased in the Alza.cz sales network is guaranteed for 2 years. If you need repair or other services during the warranty period, contact the product seller directly, you must provide the original proof of purchase with the date of purchase.
