SAFETY CAUTIONS

1. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
3. Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
4. WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene, etc.) out of their reach.
5. If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent.
6. Never pull on the cord when unplugging.
7. Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.
8. Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
9. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
10. Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
11. This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.
12. This appliance is for household use only.

WARNING:

• Do not use this appliance near water.
• Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins, or other vessels containing water.
• When the styler is switched on, do not leave it near bedding, paper, or other combustible objects. Also, do not use the styler near gas or other highly combustible items.
• Wipe the housing clean with a neutral detergent. Do not use thinner or benzine. Do not directly apply hair oils or lotions to the brush or comb. (Indirect contact from the hair is permissible.) Do not store near such cosmetics as they may deform the housing, comb, and brush.

COMMISSIONING

1. Remove all the packing materials.

2. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz socket.

3. Setting the Temperature Level:
   Position 0: Off.
   Position 1: Medium temperature to shape delicate, thin hair. Position 2: High temperature to shape normal, thick, or curly hair.

4. Switch off the appliance after use and pull out the plug. Leave it cool for a few minutes before putting it away.

CURLING BASICS

1. Plug the curling tong cord into any household outlet (230V). Slide Position 1 or 2 buttons (indicator light will illuminate). The tong will heat up very quickly. To turn it off press the ½ button again (the light will go off). Never leave your curling tong on and unattended.
2. Section damp or dry hair evenly, and comb through before styling. Pressing the automatic curl release, place a curling tong midway up the hair section and spread hair evenly between spoon and barrel. Gently slide curling tong down to hair ends. To avoid crimped ends, make sure they are securely wound under the spoon in the direction of the desired curl. Remember always place the spoon on top of a section when making a curl you want rolled under; place the spoon under the section when making a flip-style.
3. Wind the hair up as far as you want it curled, being careful not to let the tong touch the scalp. Hold in place for 5-8 seconds depending on the texture and length of your hair. For tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For loose, free-flowing curls, roll more hair.
4. To remove the curling tong press the automatic curl release and pull the tong away. To “set” the curl, do not comb or brush hair until it cools.

WARNING
The barrel will get very hot within a few seconds and should not be placed in contact with the skin after the curling tong is turned ON. The special application of this curling tong will result in an extremely hot barrel when the high setting is chosen. Always do a test curl before using the tong to ensure the proper setting for your hair type.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

This appliance is intended for household use. Unplug the product before cleaning. The product must be cleaned only when cool. Use a soft non-abrasive cloth that is slightly dampened with water to wipe the styling barrel surface. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the handle of the iron. Any other servicing should be performed by a qualified service center. The product should not be stored while hot or plugged in. When not in use, allow curling into cool, then simply put back in the box and store out of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Never wrap the cord around the curling iron. This could cause the cord to wear prematurely and break.
Disposal of old electrical appliances.
The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the
normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed-out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected.
