Requirements
BLAUPUNKT AND Mercedes Benz aux-ready radios
Introduction
Just because you drive an older car does not mean you have to settle for old
technology. The A2D-BLAU10 provides a Bluetooth streaming solution for any
A2DP smart device which then allows these radio owners to stream music without
wires. Most phones with Bluetooth 2.x, 3.0 etc. include the A2DP profile.
Installing this adapter to Mercedes Sprinter radio requires sacrificing the CD
changer (if present).
Also works on Blaupunkt DUAL AUX radios
Installation (Sprinter)
Remove radio from the dashboard to gain access to the connectors. A pair of
removal tools (See Fig. 1) is required to remove Sprinter Sound 10/20/30
radios.

To remove radio, slide both tools into slots on radio to their detent position. Withdraw the radio by pulling outwards on the tools. For specific use of the removal tools, click here

Once radio has been removed, connect 10-pin plug from adapter (See Fig. 3) to (C) socket on radio (See Fig. 4)
Warning: Most Sound 10/20/30 radios are coded and will not operate without the code. Do not proceed to step 4 if radio code is not available otherwise radio will not operate upon reconnection -
Disconnect 16-pin (A) (B) plugs from Mercedes radio (See Fig. 4) and connect to power harness 16-pin connector (See Fig. 5)

Connect black and brown plugs from harness (See Fig. 5) to radio sockets “A” and “B” on
Installation (Blaupunkt)
- Remove radio from the dashboard to gain access to the
- Connect module 10-pin plug (See Fig. 3) to (D) socket on radio (See Fig. 6)
- Disconnect 8-pin plug from radio “A” socket (See Fig. 6) and mate to 8-pin connector from module (See Fig. 7)
- Connect 8-pin plug from module to radio (A) socket (vacated in step 7)
Pairing
Pairing process varies between Smartphone but the basic steps are the same.
This process is done upon initial install and will not have to be repeated
- Turn Ignition and radio “ON” Red LED within adapter peephole will flash (pairing mode)
- On A2DP device: go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth Settings
- Select Bluetooth and turn on, select Bluetooth settings
- Tap Scan for devices.
- Wait for the Bluetooth device name (Sky International) to appear and select it. Once paired the LED will glow steady (paired)
Note: Supports multiple pairings but connects to one device at a time.
Optional remote control
Optional remote control allows users to:
- Control music wirelessly
- Track up/down
- Volume up/down
Pairing: Operation:
Use wireless remote to perform the following functions on any iOS7.0 and
higher or Android 4.4 and higher. Contents:
Enable AUX input
User must enable aux input on radio as follows:
Becker Sound 10/20/30 radios
Setting the audio input
The audio input setting will vary depending on which device is connected to
it.
Possible settings:
EXT OFF
The audio input is switched off.
EXT RUX or ExT TV
The audio input is set for operation with an external audio source.
EXT [IC
The audio input is set for CD changer mode.

Press the P | button repeatedly until EXT appears on the display.
After approx. 1 second, the current setting (status) of the audio input will appear. The status display disappears after approx. 4 seconds. -
Before the status display disappears, turn the control knob until the required setting appears.

Wait until the setting disappears from the display.
The new setting is stored.
WARNING:
If a CD changer is connected:
Do not select either of the following settings: ExT OFf,ExT AUX or EXT TV.
Otherwise, you will not be able to operate the CD changer or listen to a CD in
the changer.
Switching to AUX or TV/ video mode
You can only switch to AUX or TV/video mode if a CD changer* is not connected
and if the audio input has been set accordingly ( page 46).
Press the M button repeatedly until AUX or TV/VIIE0 appears. The car radio
switches to AUX or TV/video mode. As long as the external audio source has
been switched to playback, you will hear it via the car speakers.
You can set the volume (D page 16) and sound functions ( page 17) in AUX or TV
mode.
External audio sources
- You can connect up to two external audio sources to the device. Audio sources can, for example, be portable CD players, MiniDisc players or MP3 players.
- You can connect the first external audio source (AUX1) instead of a CD changer.
- You can connect the second extermal audio source (AUX2) in addition to the CD changer or AUX1.
- In order to be able to use the AUX inputs, you must activate them in the setup menu.
- If you want to connect an external audio source, you will need an adapter cable.
Switching the AUX input on/off

Press the MENU button Press the softkey assigned to the “AUX display item.

The AUX menu is displayed.

Press the softkey O assigned to the “AUX1” display item if no CD changer is connected and you want to connect an external audio source.

By pressing the “AUX1” softkey you can switch between the “AUX ILIARY 1 ON” and “AUXILIARY 1 OFF” settings.

Press the softkey assigned to the “AUX2” display item. By pressing the “AUX2” softkey you can switch between the “AUXILIARY 2 ON” and “AUXILIARY 2 OFF settings.
Note: -
IF CD changer is connected, you cannot change the “AUX1” input.

Press the joystick OK or the MENU button to close the menu.
The settings are saved.
Note -
If the AUX inputs are activated, you can select them by pressing the SOURCE button
Operation

Turn ignition and radio “ON”
-
Press CD or button combination to enter AUX mode.

Launch Smartphone or tablet streaming application
-
Use the radio volume control button to set the playback level.
The playlist and Track selection is “NUl possible from the radio. You must use audio device with built-in controls to access audio files. -
If a correct operation is confirmed go ahead and push radio back into a slot
Engine Noise:
If you experience alternator whine (naise increases with engine speed). We recommend adding a noise filter (e.g. NF3A) to power/ground supply lines (red/black wires
Installation
A noise filter is installed between male plug and module as seen in Fig.8
Do not cut factory harness/wires) lt necessary. remove black tape
(The harness black (ground) and red (ACC) wires to module are of interest
- Un 8-pin plug. cut red and black wires abaut 2 inches away from plug
- Mate module red wire to filter DUT red wire
- Mate module black wire to filter DUT black wire
- Mate black wire from 8-pin plug tilter IN black wire
- Mate red wire from 8-pin plug to tiler IN red wire.
Frequently ask questions & troubleshooting

My vehicle has a CO changer. Does the A20-BLAUIO work in Sprinter vehicles with CD charter?
YES: but the CO changer must be disconnected. -
Does the A2D-BLAUIO wark an all Becker and Blaupunkt radios?
NU; the AZD-BLALIU warks on Sprinter Sound 0/20/30 radius only and all Blaupunkt radios with second 10-pin aux input. -
Do you offer an adapter that works an other Sprinter Becker radios
(e.g. Sound 5) and Blaupunkt 8-pin AUX radios?
YES: Purchase our A20-BKR -
Does Lana control their Smartphone or Tablet from the radio buttons?
ND: you must continue to use Smartphone or Tablet with built-in controls and display to operate the device. The volume button on the Becker/Blaupunkt radio is used to set the playback level. -
This adapter’s 10-pin plug is identical to that of my Audi and Mercedes Benz. Will it wark?
NO; the A2D-BLAUID does not work in Audi, Mercedes Benz other than Sprinter Sound 10/20/30 radios. -
I pair or save more than one device to the A2D-BLAUI0?
YES; more than one device (slaves) can be paired however only one connection can be active at a time. -
Will be able to make phone calls on this device?
ND. the A20-8LAUIO supports music streaming. Does not support HandsFree calls.
