Please keep these instructions in a safe place so that you can refer to them when needed. Hand out these instructions when you pass on the product.

  1. Safety and handling instructions

A. Protection of the user’s health
As a general recommendation, the TAG Heuer Connected Watch is not intended for use where the failure of the device could lead to death, personal injury, or severe environmental damage.
If you have any questions concerning your TAG Heuer Connected Watch, its batteries, and/or accessories’ chemical contents, do not hesitate to contact us through our website tagheuer.com or by mail at the following address: TAG HEUER – Branch of LVMH Swiss Manufactures SA – 6A RUE LOUIS-JOSEPH CHEVROLET – 2300 LA CHAUX-DE-FONDS SWITZERLAND (Phone: +41 (0)32 919 8000).
Your TAG Heuer Connected Watch and the included TAG Heuer Connected Watch apps are not medical devices. They are not designed or intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.
Before starting or modifying any exercise program using the TAG Heuer Connected Watch, consult your physician. Be careful and attentive while exercising. Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain, or feel faint, dizzy, exhausted, or short of breath. By exercising, you assume all associated inherent risks including any injury that may result from such activity. If you have any medical condition that you believe could be affected by the TAG Heuer Connected Watch (for example, seizures, blackouts, eyestrain, or headaches), consult with your physician prior to using the TAG Heuer Connected Watch.
Some people may experience reactions to certain materials used in jewelry, watches, and other wearable items that are in prolonged contact with their skin. This can be due to allergies, environmental factors, extended exposure to irritants like soap, sweat, or other causes. You may be more likely to experience irritation from any wearable device if you have allergies or other sensitivities. If you have known skin sensitivities, please take special care when wearing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch. You may be more likely to experience irritation from the TAG Heuer Connected Watch if you wear it too tightly. Remove the TAG Heuer Connected Watch periodically to allow your skin to breathe. Keeping the TAG Heuer Connected Watch bands clean and dry will reduce the possibility of skin irritation. The materials used in the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and the TAG Heuer Connected Watch bands meet the standards set for jewelry by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, applicable European regulations, and other international standards. If you experience redness, swelling, itchiness, or any other irritation or discomfort on your skin around, or beneath, your TAG Heuer Connected Watch, please remove the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and consult your physician before resuming wear. Continued use, even after symptoms subside, may result in renewed or increased irritation.
Prolonged contact of the skin with abnormally warm surfaces may cause injury (or discomfort). Remove your TAG Heuer Connected Watch from your wrist if it becomes uncomfortably warm.
You should pay specific attention if you have a medical condition that reduces your ability to detect heat on your skin.
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch contains components that may interfere with electronic medical devices. If you use an electronic medical device, please refer to section 3a below.
B. Main characteristics of your TAG Heuer Connected Watch
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch is a luxury watch that includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a global positioning system (GPS), near-frequency communications (NFC) functions, and a heart rate sensor. Ambient light sensor and inter- modularity (i.e. users can change parts of the Watch such as the strap by means of buying extra accessories) are also available in this version of the Connected Watch.
It is not intended to be used as a medical device.
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch is powered with Wear OS by GoogleTM. Wear OS by Google, AndroidTM, and Google Play Store are trademarks of Google LLC. Wear OS by Google works with phones running the latest version of Android (excluding Go edition and phones without Google Play Store) or iOS. Supported features may vary between platforms and countries with compatibility subject to change. Visit g.co/wearcheck on your phone or a computer to see if it is compatible.
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch requires the use of the charging accessories provided with it (Please refer to product packaging). The accessories provided with your TAG Heuer Connected Watch contain a USB cable, a charging cradle, and a wall plug. You will find below further details on the use of the Watch and its charging accessories.

Performance and handling

For optimal performance of the heart rate sensor, your watch and strap must be snugly fitted to the wrist. If you want to measure your heart rate while practicing sports, wearing your watch with a steel bracelet may not be an optimal choice, as it can be difficult to tighten properly.
To disable the watch’s radio (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location (GPS), and NFC) functions, please follow the following stages:

  • If your screen is dim, touch the screen to wake up the watch;
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen;
  • Touch the Settings symbol ( );
  • Scroll down and touch Connectivity
  • Touch Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, or Location (GPS) settings depending on which you want to turn off/on;
  • If Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is set to Automatic, touch the little icon listed next to either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to turn it off or disable it.

C. Important safety precautions
Please note that failure to comply with the following guidelines may cause malfunctions or be hazardous to the user and/or exclude or reduce the benefit from the International Limited Guarantee.

Using the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories safely

a. Keeping your TAG Heuer Connected Watch safe
(i) General
Do not use or store the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories in dusty, dirty areas as its components may be damaged.
Do not attempt to open the watch’s casing. Non-expert handling of the TAG Heuer Connected Watch may cause damages to your TAG Heuer Connected Watch and will void the International Limited Guarantee.
Do not drop or knock the TAG Heuer Connected Watch. Do not place heavy objects on it.
Do not use sharp objects on the screen. Do not use excessive force 3 on the screen. Rough handling may damage the internal circuits.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the TAG Heuer Connected Watch.
While listening to your device with headphones, make sure you have set the volume to a reasonable level in order to avoid damage to your ears.
If the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or any of its accessories are not working properly, take them to your nearest qualified service center.
(ii) Exposure to liquid
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch is water-resistant to 50m/5ATM. You may, for example, wear and use the TAG Heuer Connected Watch for shallow-water activities such as swimming or in the rain. However, it should not be used for activities involving submersion below shallow depth or high-velocity water such as scuba diving, or water-skiing.
Be sure to clean and rinse your watch with fresh water after it has been in salt water or chlorinated water and dry it thoroughly with a nonabrasive, lint-free cloth.
If you perspire with your watch or your watch gets wet while wearing (even with fresh water), always dry it carefully before placing it on its charging cradle.
Be aware that straps other than metal or rubber and any charging accessories are not water-resistant.
The following must also be avoided as it could damage your watch (it could notably affect the water resistance and cause cosmetic issues):

  • exposing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch to soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, and any liquids other than water, such as perfume, insect repellent, lotions, sunscreen, oil, adhesive remover, hair dye, or solvents;
  • dropping the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or subjecting it to impacts.
  • exposing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch to pressurized water or high-velocity water, for example, diving, and surfing.
  • wearing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch in the sauna or steam room.

Please note that the touch screen and other features may get deactivated temporarily while the TAG Heuer Connected Watch is wet. If the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or your hands are wet, dry them thoroughly before handling the watch.
Be sure to carefully follow those instructions when using your TAG Heuer Connected Watch, as any use in contradiction with those instructions would void the International Limited Guarantee.
(iii) Using buttons, Digital Crown, connectors, and ports
Never apply excessive pressure to a button on the TAG Heuer Connected Watch, or force a charging connector into a port, because this may cause damage that is not covered under the International Limited Guarantee. If the connector and port do not join with reasonable ease, they probably do not match. Check for obstructions and make sure that the connector matches the port and that you have positioned the connector correctly in relation to the port.
Certain usage patterns can contribute to the fraying or breaking of cables. The cable attached to a charging unit, like any other metal wire or cable, is subject to becoming weak or brittle if repeatedly bent in the same spot. Aim for gentle curves instead of angles in the cable. Regularly inspect the cable and connector for any kinks, breaks, bends, or other damage. Should you find any such damage, discontinue the use of the cable.
b. Integrity of people around
(i) Protection of children
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories present a choking hazard to children and must therefore be kept away from children.
(ii) Driving and engaging in activity safely
Do not use your TAG Heuer Connected Watch while driving.
You assume full responsibility for the use of the GPS of the Connected Watch and the risks derives therefrom.
Radiofrequency signals might affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in motor vehicles. Check with the manufacturer or its representative regarding your vehicle. If any equipment has been added to your vehicle, you should also consult the manufacturer of that equipment for information on radio frequency signals.
Do not use your TAG Heuer Connected Watch while engaging in any activity that requires your full attention. Inattention to vehicular traffic or other pedestrian hazards could result in serious injury, death, or property loss.
In general, always use common sense when using your TAG Heuer Connected Watch.

Electrical Safety

a. Accessories
Use only those accessories approved by TAG Heuer. Using any accessories not approved by TAG Heuer for use with your TAG Heuer Connected Watch might invalidate any approval or warranty (including the International Limited Guarantee) applicable to your device and or might result in the TAG Heuer Connected Watch becoming inoperative and dangerous.
b. Charging accessories
Your Watch is provided with the following charging accessories: USB cable, charging cradle, and wall plug.
To charge the TAG Heuer Connected Watch, use only charging accessories approved by TAG Heuer.
When a charger is not in use, disconnect it from the power source.
It is important to keep the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and the accessories provided therewith in a well-ventilated area when charging.
Use the charging accessories provided with the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or any other TAG Heuer-approved charging accessories only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. Before you use any charging accessory, verify that the main voltage of the power source is in accordance with the voltage of the approved charging accessories.
Do not overload the power outlet, extension cords, or convenience receptacles because this might result in a risk of fire or electric shock. To reduce the risk of damage to the cord or the wall charger, pull the wall charger rather than the cord when you disconnect the charging accessory from the power outlet or convenience receptacle.
Using damaged TAG Heuer Connected Watch charging accessories, charging when moisture is present, or handling accessories with wet hands can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the user or the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or other property. Be sure the TAG Heuer Connected Watch (including the charging pins on the back of your watch) and the charging accessories are dry before charging. When you use the charging accessories to charge the TAG Heuer Connected Watch, make sure that the USB plug is fully inserted into the adapter before you plug the adapter into a power outlet. Avoid charging the TAG Heuer Connected Watch in direct sunlight. Do not wear the TAG Heuer Connected Watch while it is charging. The watch should not be charged next to certain pieces of furniture that could easily catch fire in case of an overheated battery (e.g. sofas, bookshelves, etc.).
Avoid prolonged skin contact with the connector when the cable is plugged into a power source because it may cause discomfort or injury. Sleeping or sitting on the connector should be avoided.
In addition to the above:

  • Do not expose the charger to water while in use; this may cause the charger and the watch to fail.
  • Carefully insert the USB cable into the charger base, forcing the cable in the wrong direction will damage the charger.
  • It is recommended to charge the watch in a cool place, in order to prevent overheating of the watch.
  • It is not recommended to charge the watch in a place where there is direct sunlight on the watch, as this may cause overheating.
  • Insert the wall plug into a household socket whose data corresponds to that on the type plate of the wall plug.
  • A charging screen will be displayed on the watch face, indicating the remaining time to fully charge the battery.
  • It is recommended to remove the watch from the charger once it is fully charged.
  • Please refer to the FAQ section of TAG Heuer’s website: faq. tagheuer.com
  • The charger contains a small magnet to ensure proper alignment and attachment of the watch to the charger. Please keep the charger away from metal.

c. Battery safety

Your TAG Heuer Connected Watch contains a built-in lithium-ion polymer battery that is not replaceable. Do not attempt to replace your product’s battery (for information on the recycling of the battery, please refer to section Maintenance and Disposal (paragraph C-4), below).
In any event:

  • Do not expose the watch to fire or other external heat sources, such as hot plates, stove tops, space heaters, or ovens, as this could cause fire or explosion.
  • Do not dispose of the watch in a fire.
  • Never place the watch on a charger that is damaged in any way.
  • Do not leave the watch in hot or cold places.
  • Do not short-circuit the charging contacts, the battery could explode. Store the TAG Heuer Connected Watch in a way that the contacts cannot be short-circuited by other metallic objects such as needles or paper clips.
  • If the Smartwatch becomes unusually warm, deformed, or mechanically damaged, do not continue to use it but dispose of the item in an environmentally friendly manner.

Interaction with the environment

a. Interference with electronic equipment and magnetic 5 characteristics
Your TAG Heuer Connected Watch, like any radio-transmitting equipment, may interfere with other electronic devices.
Switch off your device on airplanes or any place where it is requested (hospitals, gas stations, etc.).
In any case, make sure you are using your device where it is authorized for use and in an authorized manner.
In particular, your TAG Heuer Connected Watch may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators, or other medical devices. Maintain a safe distance of separation between your medical device and the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and accessories. Consult your physician and medical device manufacturer for information specific to your medical device. Stop using the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories if you suspect they are interfering with your pacemaker, defibrillator, or any other medical device.
Keep key cards and credit cards away from the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories.
b. Dangerous areas
Charging or using the TAG Heuer Connected Watch in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, such as in areas where the air contains high levels of flammable chemicals, vapors, or particles (such as grain, dust, or metal powders), may be hazardous. Obey all signs and instructions.
c. Geolocation performance
The geolocation function of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), such as the Global Positioning Service (GPS), may experience performance issues in case of use near any device using a terrestrial broadband network.
d. Operating and storage temperatures
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch (watch and dock/charger) shall not be operated or stored at temperatures below -20 °C (-4 °F) and above 50 °C (122 °F) and shall not be charged at temperatures below 0 °C (32 °F) and above 45 °C (113 °F).
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch can be damaged and battery life shortened if stored or operated outside of these temperature ranges. Avoid exposing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch to dramatic changes in temperature or humidity. If the interior temperature of the TAG Heuer Connected Watch exceeds normal operating temperatures (for example, in a hot car or in direct sunlight for extended periods of time), you may experience the following as it attempts to regulate its temperature:

  • Charging may slow or stop;
  • The display may dim;
  • Some data transfers may be paused or delayed.

The TAG Heuer Connected Watch and its accessories will become warm when plugged into a power source. For example, while the TAG Heuer Connected Watch is charging or while its accessories are plugged into a power source, do not sleep on them or place them under a blanket, or your body. Always use common sense when charging your TAG Heuer Connected Watch.
D. Maintenance and disposal

  1. Cleaning
    Clean the TAG Heuer Connected Watch with the cloth and the rubber strap with water and a bit of soap. Clean if it comes in contact with anything that may cause stains, or other damage, such as dirt or sand, makeup, ink, soap, detergent, acids, or acidic foods, or comes in contact with liquids other than freshwater, including those that may lead to skin irritation such as sweat, salt water, soapy water, pool water, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, sunscreen, oil, adhesive remover, hair dye, or solvents. Please be aware that exposing the TAG Heuer Connected Watch to any liquids other than water will void the TAG Heuer International Limited Guarantee. See the section dedicated to Exposure to liquid above for details. The TAG Heuer Connected Watch may vary or fade over time.
    Discoloration of the charging surface of the TAG Heuer Connected Watch charging cradle and of the stainless-steel components of your watch (notably the charging pins on its back or metal bracelets) may occur after regular use. This may result from corrosion caused by some perspiration or dust accumulating on the components.
    Cleaning the charging surface of the charging cradle and the stainless-steel components of your watch may reduce, or prevent such discoloration, and will help to prevent damage to your charger and your watch. To do so, wipe the charging surface of your charger and the stainless-steel components of your watch with a damp, non-abrasive cloth, and dry them thoroughly with a nonabrasive, lint-free cloth.
    When cleaning the charging cradle, always disconnect the cradle from both the TAG Heuer Connected Watch and the power adapter.
    If you perspired with your watch or your watch got wet while wearing, clean the sweat stains and wipe carefully the charging pins (on the watch back) before charging.
    Do not use cleaning products when cleaning your watch or the charging surface of the charging cradle.
    In general, the following actions are not recommended in the care of your TAG Heuer Connected Watch:
    • Do not clean the TAG Heuer Connected Watch while it is charging.
    • Do not dry the TAG Heuer Connected Watch or the bands using any external heat source (for example, a hair dryer).
    • Do not use cleaning products or compressed air when cleaning your TAG Heuer Connected Watch.
    • Do not clean with cosmetic or cleaning products such as wet wipes.
    • Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
    • Keep the TAG Heuer Connected Watch clean and dry. Dry the TAG Heuer Connected Watch thoroughly if exposed to water.

Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy and Specific Absorption Rate Information
This device is a radio transmitter and receiver that uses an internal antenna to send and receive low levels of radio frequency (RF) energy for data communications. The device emits RF energy below the published limits when operating in its maximum output power mode and when used with TAG Heuer authorized accessories. To comply with RF exposure compliance requirements, the device should not be used in other configurations.
This device must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other transmitter or antenna.
The TAG Heuer Connected Watch meets the EU, US, and Canada requirements for exposure to radio waves. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to RF energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the US Government, Industry Canada (IC) of the Canadian Government, the French Government, and recommended by the Council of the European Union when used as directed in these Instructions, to ensure the safety of all persons, regardless of age or condition.

The exposure standard for radio electrical devices uses a unit of measurement 7 known as the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.
Please note that:

  • In the United States and Canada, the allowable SAR limits are the following: 1.6 W/kg (averaged over any 1 gram of tissue) for the head, neck, and trunk; 2.0 W/kg (averaged over any 10 grams of tissue) for limbs;
  • In the EU, the recommended SAR limits are the following: 1.6 W/ kg (averaged over any 10 grams of tissue) for the head and trunk; 2.0 W/kg (averaged over any 10 grams of tissue) for limbs (these are legal requirements in France).

The SAR limit recommended by the ICNIRP (International Commission for protection against non-ionizing radiation) is 2 W/kg.
Additionally, the SAR limit that applies to residents of countries/regions that have adopted the SAR limit recommended by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), including the US, is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one (1) gram of human tissue.
For SAR values for your TAG Heuer Connected Watch, see Part III: Regulatory Information.

Your statutory rights
– General
This Guarantee provides rights separate to statutory rights provided under consumer law and which may be available to you depending on the country where you purchased your product and/or your accessories. The Guarantee does not exclude, modify or reduce those statutory rights. For a comprehensive understanding of your statutory rights, you should review the laws of your country, including those in connection with the conformity of goods with a sales contract.
– France
This Guarantee is in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under French law, which cannot be excluded. With respect to this Guarantee, “when the buyer asks the seller to carry out repairs covered by his commercial guarantee upon the acquisition and the reparation of a movable asset, the period of any resultant shutdown of seven days or longer shall be added to the unexpired term of the guarantee. The said period shall run from the time when the buyer requests assistance or the time when the product in question is taken out of service pending repair, should this be subsequent to the request for assistance” (article L217-16 of the French Consumer Code).
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Guarantee, in addition to the Guarantee, TAG Heuer is liable for the French legal (i) guarantee of conformity described in articles L217-4 to L217-13 of the French Consumer Code, and (ii) guarantee against hidden defects in the conditions set out in articles 1641 to 1648 and 2232 of the French Civil Code. With respect to the guarantee against hidden defects, according to article 1641 of the French Civil Code, “the seller is bound to a guarantee against hidden defects in the thing sold that render it unfit for its intended use, or that so impair its use that the buyer would not have bought it, or would only have given a lesser price for it if he had known of the defects”, and to the first paragraph of article 1648 of the same Code “an action resulting from redhibitory defects must be brought by the buyer within two years from the discovery of the defect”.
With respect to the guarantee of conformity, according to articles L217-4 and L217-5 of the French Consumer Code, “the seller shall deliver a product which conforms to the contract and is held liable for any lack of conformity which exists upon delivery. He is also held liable for any lack of conformity caused by the packaging or the assembly instructions, or the installation if he assumed responsibility therefor or had it carried out under his responsibility” and “the product conforms to the contract:

  1. If it is suitable for the purpose usually associated with such a product and, if applicable: -if it corresponds to the description given by the seller and has the features that the seller presented to the buyer in the form of a sample or model; – if it has the features that a buyer might reasonably expect to have considering the public statements made by the seller, the producer or his representative, including advertising and labeling;
  2. Or if it has the features defined by mutual agreement between the parties or is suitable for any special requirement of the buyer which was made known to the seller and which the latter agreed to”. In addition, an “action resulting from a lack of conformity lapses two years after delivery of the product” (article L217-12 of the French Consumer Code).

– Germany
The conditions of the Guarantee do not apply to rights granted under statutory warranty and consumer protection laws. This Guarantee is in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the laws of Germany, which cannot be excluded. Nothing in this Guarantee purports to limit, modify, take away from, disclaim, exclude or suspend any mandatory guarantee requirements provided or non-excludable statutory rights you may have under the laws of Germany, in particular the statutory warranty and consumer protection rights under Sec. 434 ff., 474 ff. German Civil Code.
Irrespective of the rights granted under the Guarantee, if your Product is defective and does not conform to the contract at the time of delivery, you are entitled by Sec. 434 ff. 474 ff. BGB, at your choice, to a replacement or to have the Product repaired. If we are not able to replace or repair your defective Product or refuse to do so, you may be entitled to revoke the purchase agreement, reduce the purchase price, or demand damages or reimbursement of futile expenditure.
In addition to the conditions set forth in this Guarantee form above, the Guarantee does not apply in the events of a lack of fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. The statutory warranty and consumer protection rights, in particular Sec. 434 ff. 474 ff. BGB, are not limited, modified, taken away, disclaimed, excluded or suspended thereby. TAG Heuer shall not be liable for any incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the Guarantee. In this respect, TAG Heuer shall only be liable on the merits of willful misconduct (Vorsatz) or gross negligence. The aforesaid limitation of liability shall not apply in case of damages to the life, the body, or the health of a person; the same applies to compulsory liability according to the German Product Liability Act.
– Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg
This Guarantee is without prejudice to your rights and remedies available to you in accordance with the Luxembourg legal (i) warranty of conformity described in articles L212-1 to L-212-7 of the Luxembourg Consumer Code and (ii) warranty against hidden defects in the conditions set out in articles 1641 to 1649 of the Luxembourg Civil Code.
With respect to the warranty of conformity, a professional must deliver a product that conforms to the contract and is held liable for any lack of conformity that exists upon delivery, even if unknown to him. He is also liable for any lack of conformity caused by the packaging, the assembly instructions, or the installation if such installation formed part of the contract or took place under his responsibility. To invoke the professional’s legal warranty of conformity, the consumer must, by any means, inform the latter of the default in conformity within a delay of two years as of the delivery of the Product.
With respect to the warranty against hidden defects, articles 1641 and following of the Luxembourg Civil Code state that “a seller is bound by a warranty against hidden defects in the thing sold that renders it unfit for its intended use, or that so impairs such use that the buyer would not have bought it, or would only have given a lesser price for it if he had known of the defects”. In accordance with article 1648 of the Luxembourg Civil Code, the buyer must inform the seller of the hidden defects within a brief delay as of the moment the defect was discovered or should have been discovered.

Nothing in the Guarantee purports to limit, modify, take away from, disclaim, exclude or suspend any mandatory guarantee requirements provided or non-excludable statutory rights you may have under the Consumers’ Code.
Pursuant to Section 130 of the Consumers’ Code, in case of a lack of conformity and at your discretion, you may request TAG Heuer to repair or replace the defective Product, free of charge in either case, unless the remedy requested is impossible or disproportionate.
