Assembly and preparation works

Connecting to the mains (Fig. II)

The Diesel pump is designed for alternating current 230 V~50 Hz. Connect it only into earthed sockets! For connecting of the pump corresponding safety regulations apply.

Lifting valve (Fig. VI/5)
( observe the preceding step 5 in Putting into operation )
Install the lifting valve (Fig.I/f) between the pressure hose and pressure supply line of the pump. Care unconditionally for the direction of oil flow. The arrow on the lifting valve shall point in the direction of the pumping gun.

Installation (Fig. IV)

The pump is an electric equipment to be installed in a protected place, where is not exposed to weather impacts.
The pump shall be installed in a dry place with good ventilation, on even and strong base. The minimum distance from the walls shall be observed, so that the interventions during the use and maintenance may be possible. The electric pump shall be installed as near as possible to the oil to be pumped.

Putting the Diesel pump into operation (Fig. VI)

When putting the Diesel pump into operation observe unconditionally the graphically shown course to be found at the beginning of the Operation Manual (Fig. VI).

Step 1
First tighten the thread at the end of suction hose with tephlone strip, preferentially with hemp, and screw the foot valve into the sealed thread of the suction hose (Fig. I/c).
(Fig. VI/1).

Step 2
Seal the thread on the other end of suction hose also with the tephlone strip, preferential with hemp, and screw this end of the suction hose into the filling hole (Fig. I/j) of the pump.
(Fig. VI/2)

Step 3 ( bleeding)!
First screw the bleeding plug (Fig. I/k) out of the pump (Fig. VI/3).

Step 4 (bleeding)!
Now fill up completely the pump body and suction hose over the discharging hole (Fig. I/i) so that the oil may flow out from the bleeding hole. (Fig. VI/4).

Step 5
Seal the thread of lifting valve (Fig. I/f) with tephlone strip, preferentially with hemp, and screw it into the discharging hole ( Fig. I/i ) of the pump (Fig. VI/5). Now seal the thread of the bleeding plug ( Fig. I/k) with tephlone strip, preferentially with hemp, and screw it again into the corresponding hole.

Step 6
Seal the end of pressure hose with tephlone strip, preferentially with hemp, and screw it into the lifting valve (Fig. I/f) , located at the discharging hole (Fig. VI/6).

Step 7
Seal the end of the pumping gun (Fig. I/b), to which the pressure hose will be connected, with tephlone strip, preferentially with hemp, and connect the pressure hose with pumping gun (Fig. VI/7).

The pump is ready for operation now!

Important:

  • The pump is very sensitive on air bubbles in the field of suction. Therefore it is very important to observe carefully the instructions so that useless problems may be prevented.
  • The suction height 2 m must not be exceeded.
  • The tank shall never be completely sucked off, because then it would be necessary to repeat the whole bleeding procedure.
  • The pump must not run against the pressure.
  • Check the tightness of hose clips before every putting into operation!
  • Tighten perfectly all threaded joints.
  • Fill in carefully the pump and suction hose.
  1. The pump shall be switched off immediately after pumping!
  2. Never leave the pump without supervision during the operation.
  3. We do not guarantee consequential damages!

Residual danger and protective measures

Electric residual dangers:

Hazard Description Protective measure(s)
Direct electric contact Electric shock RCD
Indirect electric contact Electric shock through a medium RCD

Other hazards:

Hazard Description Protective measure(s)
Flinged away objects or spraying liquids The oil may spray out of the pump
and cause serious accidents. Wear always gloves and protective goggles.
Person may stumble or fall Persons may stumble over the electric cable and
the device itself. Make corresponding countermeasures according to the way of

installation (suitable place of installation, marking the place of installation etc.)

Maintenance and attending of the device

Caution – Life may be endangered by electric shock!
Disconnect the device from the battery before every cleaning and attending. Caution – Danger of damage the device!
Never clean the device under flowing water or in rinsing water. Do not use aggressive cleaning means or hard objects  for cleaning, they may damage the device. Clean occasionally the device with a damp piece of cloth.

The pump does not require a special maintenance. Suction and pressure hoses shall always be free of foreign matters and kept clean.

Before every putting into operation check the correctness of hose clips and pressure hoses.

Tip:
The tank shall never be sucked off completely, otherwise the bleeding procedures will have to be repeated.

Trouble shooting

Problems Possible causes Measure
The pump does not run
  1. There is no supply
  2. Undervoltaghe release is switched off
  3. Mechanical sealing (sliding ring sealing) is stuck together

|

  1. Check the voltage and secure and push the plug in
  2. Switched it on
  3. Turn freely the motor shaft with big screw driver stuck through the ventilator cover.

The pump runs, but it does not pump the oil.|

  1. Air in the pump body.
  2. The pump sucks the air in the field of suction.

|

  1. Bleed it (see „Putting into operation“)
  2. Check the tightness of the outlet hose. The outlet hose shall be completely submerged into the liquid and shall not have any strangling places or siphons.
    Observe maximum height of filling.

Heat protection stops the pump due to overheating.|

  1. Supply does not correspond to data on the motor label.
  2. Foreign matter has blocked the moving wheel.
  3. The pump was running more than 15 minutes without liquid or with closed discharging hole.
  4. The pump is overloaded

|

  1. Check the voltage in the mains
  2. Take off the suction pipe and remove the foreign matter.
  3. Let the pump get cool, then start it again. Check if the mechanical sealing has not been damaged during that time.
  4. Plan more breaks
