WARRANTY

This appliance has a two-year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions, or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.
If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:

  • Read all instructions carefully. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Make sure all packaging materials and promotional stickers have been removed before using the appliance for the first time.

  • Make sure children cannot play with the packaging material

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments;
    • farmhouses;
    • by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
    • bed and breakfast type environments.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged 16 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children younger than 16 years.

  • The appliance must be disconnected from its power source when not in use, during service, and when replacing parts. Allow cooling before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard the appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

  • Never leave the appliance unattended while it is functioning.
  • Do not use or store this appliance outdoors.
  • Do not move the appliance while in use or when still hot. Allow cooling before moving the appliance.
  • Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.
  • Check carefully that the voltage and frequency of the power net match the indications on the rating label of the appliance.
  • The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded in accordance with all local standards and requirements.
  • Only use the utensils delivered with the appliance.
  • Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or in the event the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the DOMO Service Department or its service agent for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. Do not try to repair the appliance yourself.
  • To protect against electrical shock or burns, do not immerse the unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
  • A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. DO NOT USE IT WITH AN EXTENSION CORD.
  • Unwrap the cord completely to prevent overheating of the cord.
  • Do not let the power supply cord hang over the edge of a counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not allow the power cord supply to run underneath or around the unit.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or sink, or in a heated oven.
  • o not place near flammable materials, gases, or explosives.
  • Do not place near objects that may catch fire, such as curtains, towels, etc…
  • Do not use the appliance if there is any water in it or the parts are still wet after cleaning.
  • Failure to maintain this appliance in a clean condition could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.
  • Do not use this product on a surface that could be damaged by steam or heat.
  • Always place the appliance on a flat and stable surface.
  • Any injury or damage caused by failure to comply with these rules is at your own risk. Neither the manufacturer, importer, nor supplier may be held liable.
  • CAUTION: Do not cover the lid to avoid fire.

USE

Attention: When using the appliance for the first time there may be a slight smell and smoke development coming from the baking plates. This is normal.

  1. Make sure that the baking plates are clean. If necessary, wipe them clean with a clean, damp cloth.

  2. The first use is to smear on the baking plates with a little vegetable oil, butter, or margarine.

  3. Close the lid.

  4. Plug in the sandwich maker. The orange light will go on and the appliance will start to heat up immediately. Let the sandwich maker heat up until the green light goes on. At that point, the appliance has reached the right temperature.

  5. Open the lid and place the sandwich on the bottom plate.
    TIP: To obtain a golden brown color, you can smear some butter on the outside of the sandwich.

  6. Close the lid. Be careful, as there may escape steam from the sides of the sandwich maker. Make sure that there are no body parts coming into contact with the hot steam.

  8. The ideal baking time depends on your personal taste and on the kind of bread and sandwich filling you are using.

  9. The thermostat will switch on and off to keep the baking plates at the right temperature. This also prevents overheating.
    The operation of the thermostat will be indicated by the green temperature light, which will also go on and off accordingly.

  10. When the sandwiches are ready, open the lid and take out the sandwiches using a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use any metal objects, since they can damage the non-stick coating.

  11. If you want to bake another sandwich, immediately close the lid again to maintain the heat.

  12.  Always immediately unplug the appliance after use.

CLEANING

This appliance needs little maintenance. If the appliance is broken, have it repaired by the manufacturer.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Always unplug the appliance and let the appliance cool down before cleaning it.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads to avoid damaging the appliance.

  • Cleaning the inside
    Clean the baking plates with absorbing paper or a soft cloth. Although the appliance is equipped with a non-stick coating, there might still be some residues that are hard to remove. To remove these remains, thoroughly smear on the baking plates with vegetable oil and let it absorb for 5 to 10 minutes. Then wipe the plates clean with absorbing paper. If this does not work, you can clean the plates with a damp cloth and some mild detergent.

  • Cleaning the outside
    Wipe the housing clean with a soft, dry cloth.
