SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before use make sure to read all of the below instructions in order to avoid injury or damage, and to get the best results from the appliance. Make sure to keep this manual in a safe place. If you give or transfer this appliance to someone else make sure to also include this manual.
In case of damage caused by user failing to follow the instructions in this manual the warranty will be void. The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to follow the manual, a negligent use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

  1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
  3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  4. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  6. Regarding the instructions for cleaning the surfaces which come in contact with food or oil, please refer to the paragraph “cleaning and maintenance” of the manual.
  7. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  8. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
  9. Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, please check that the voltage and frequency comply with the specifications on the rating label.
  10. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
  11. Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
  12. Ensure that the mains cable is not hung over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open flames.
  13. Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids. There is danger to life due to electric shock!
  14. To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the power cord.
  15. Do not touch the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the plug from its socket, turn off the appliance and send it to an authorized service center for repair.
  16. Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
  17. Never attempt to open the housing of the appliance, or to repair the appliance yourself. This could cause electric shock.
  18. Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
  19. This appliance is not designed for commercial use.
  20. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  21. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
  22. Place the appliance on a stable, level surface from which it cannot fall off.
  23. The use of accessory attachment not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  24. If you use products with non-stick surfaces, please make sure no birds are in the same room and that the room can be completely closed off and well-ventilated.
  25. Caution, hot surface
    WARNING!! Please do not touch surface while in use. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.

BEFORE USE

  1. Make sure that there is enough ventilation around the Raclette.
  2. The Raclette should not be placed on an untreated wood surface. Place the Raclette on a heat resistant surface.

Tip to prepare meat
Preparing your meat in advance (take it out of the refrigerator, let it reach room temperature before you put it on the grill-plate) gives your meat a more even cooked result. It also prevents the grill-plate from deforming if the meat and other ingredients are too cold.

GRILL

  1. Place the raclette in the middle of the table.
  2. After plugging in, press the switch to turn on the appliance. The indicator light will illuminate. Let the unit preheat for a maximum of 20-30 minutes.
  3. After preheating, the unit is ready for use.
  4. Cut the meat into small pieces. It thus reduces the cooking time.
  5. You can grill toasts in the raclette pans, fry eggs or potatoes and many other things.
  6. You may serve the grilled meat and vegetables with different sauces, salads of baguette.
    Always remember to add some grease to the grill plate + mini pans before use.

NOTE: do not leave the unit on and unused for more than 30 minutes. The grill plate will be too hot for optimal cooking. After use, turn off the appliance and unplug it.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow cooling before moving and/or cleaning.
  2. Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  3. All surfaces can be cleaned with a clean damp cloth.
  4. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp utensils to clean the Raclette.
  5. Clean inside with a clean damp cloth.

THE GUARANTY DOES NOT COVER

  1. If the above points have not been observed.
  2. If the appliance has not been properly maintained, if force has been used against it or if it has been damaged in any other way.
  3. Errors or faults owing to defects in the distribution system.
  4. If the appliance has been repaired or modified or changed in any way or by any person not properly authorized.

This means that this product must be handled pursuant to European Directive 2012/19/EU in order
to be recycled or dismantled to minimize its impact on the environment.

QUALITY

Safety and quality is very important to HEMA. We have our own laboratory, which assesses all equipment in terms of electrical safety and ease of use, before it is included in our range. HEMA also monitors the product quality in collaboration with the manufacturer.

SECURITY

This HEMA item may be fitted with a plastic anti-theft strip. You will find the strip on the bottom of the product. This strip does not influence the quality or the operation of the product and can be removed without a problem.

FAULTS AND REPAIRS

If this device needs to be repaired, you can hand it in at a HEMA branch after packing the product securely. Do not try to repair this product yourself. For repairs that fall within the warranty period, you will need to show a proof of purchase and the warranty document. Regularly check the power cord for damage. If there is any damage to the cord set, please return the item to a HEMA branch for repair. Do not try to replace it yourself. For safety reasons we recommend that you do not carry out any repairs to an electrical device yourself.

WARRANTY

The warranty period is 2 years from the date of purchase. Always keep your receipt in a safe place. It’s handy if you take a picture of the receipt and save it somewhere. Then you will always have an easy-to-read receipt in your possession.

HEMA guarantees that the product you have purchased meets the standards our customers are entitled to expect in terms of quality and product properties. These warranty conditions do not affect your statutory or consumer rights and apply in all countries where there are HEMA branches.

Warranty claims
If you wish to make a warranty claim, please return the product with proof of purchase to one of our stores. The store will determine whether to replace the product (with an identical or equivalent product), accept the product for repair within a reasonable period of time or refund the price of the product.

Invalidation of warranty
The warranty on this article is invalidated if the fault or defect is caused by:

  • a) normal wear and tear
  • b) external damage (for example, damage caused by exposure to sand or moisture or due to falling of the product, etc.)
  • c) improper or inappropriate use
  • d) overdue or incorrect maintenance, including repairs that were not authorised by HEM
    The above list does not exclude other possible reasons for defects not being covered by the warranty.
