Getting started

  1. Check smartphone compatibility
You need Bluetooth Smart (not Classic Bluetooth) on your smartphone to use WarmUp Bluetooth®. The app is available for iOS and Android. Refer to the App Store to see which iOS versions are currently supported, and to the Google Play Store to see which Android versions are currently supported by the DEFA app. Please note that OS requirements are subject to change without notification.

  2. Download app
Download the free DEFA app from App Store or Play Store.

  3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone

  4. Set up DEFA Bluetooth® Hub
You need to pair your smartphone with the Bluetooth® Hub, in order to control the DEFA WarmUp system. Open the DEFA app, find the “Set up Bluetooth Hub” option and follow the on-screen instructions.

Bluetooth connections
You can download the app and pair a total of 4 smartphones with the Bluetooth® Hub. However, only one phone can be connected and operating the system at one time. The
first phone that enters in range of the hub will connect automatically. After setup, your WarmUp system works even if you disable Bluetooth on your phone. However, you must
enable Bluetooth and stay in range to be able to edit the Pick-up times.

AC power cable alarm
We recommend that you always have Bluetooth enabled on your phone to be able to receive an alarm if the AC power cable is connected when the engine starts. Note:

  • The phone must be connected to the Bluetooth® Hub
  • Connection time is dependent on the phone model
  • The DEFA app must be running in the background
  • The app must have access to play the alarm sound (phone settings) and the volume must be on
  • There must be power present in the socket outlet DEFA is not liable for any damages that may occur as a result of moving the vehicle while the power cord is connected.
