Change of light source
For most of the fittings with LED the light source is not changeable. If the LED unit is changeable this shall only be made by electrical engineers!
Cleaning
- Reflectors should be cleaned when dust or others are discovered.
- To maintain the light effect of the fitting DEFA recommend cleaning in the following intervals:
- Office fitting with 3 years interval.
- Industry fitting with 2years interval.
- Outdoor fitting with 3 years interval.
- Since there are many different usable cleaning materials available in the market, we do not give a list with recommendations.
Warning:
When cleaning the body of the fitting the power shall always be disconnected.
Electric components such as control gear, sockets, terminal blocks or cables
shall never be exposed for water or cleaning materials!
The body of the fitting:
- Normal dirt/dust
- Vacuum-clean with a soft brush.
- Wipe with a slightly moistened cleaning cloth with lukewarm and pH-neutral cleaning material.
- Extra dirty (Grease, Oil)

- Blown with compressed air.
- Wipe with a slightly moistened cloth with a warm and pH-neutral cleaning material, max 55⁰C.

To give a satisfactory result the following is recommended when cleaning shiny surfaces:
- Use clean cotton gloves when handling parts that needs to be cleaned.
- Remove particles that might cause scratches before wiping of shiny surfaces, e.g., compressed air or a dust brush.
- Clean with soft and clean cloths without Micro fibers (Microfibers can on some occasions give scratches). Change water and cloths often!
- Reflectors can carefully be wiped with a wash leather intended for use on shiny surfaces. Raster’s should be blown dry with compressed air. When self-drying might (depending on the water quality) drying spots occur. A brightener should then be added into the rinse water.
