Instructions for Use
Before you start
Before you use your new kettle for the first time, please, boil water and pour it away. The same should be repeated more times to get rid of the unpleasant plastic taste, which is usual for plastic products. If the boiled water tastes still like plastic, please, repeat the same process until the unpleasant taste is not present anymore. If the result of the boiling process is still negative, please, contact the service point.
- Unwind sufficient cord from the storage area to reach the power outlet. Then place the power base on a dry. That surface.
- Open the lid and fill the kettle with cold water.
- Make sure that the water level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the water level scale. Do not switch on the kettle when empty.
- Check and correct the filter’s position before boiling the water. The automatic shutt-off switch may not work properly without the filter.
- Close the lid and place the kettle back on the base.
- Plug to AC outlet with the voltage corresponding to the information on the product label.
- Switch the kettle on by the main switch. The indicator light will go on showing that the water is being boiled.
- When the water has boiled, the kettle will switch off automatically
- Do not remove the kettle from the power base without first switching off.
- Remember if you wish to re-boil, put the main switch of the kettle to the “ON” position.
- The kettle may be switch off at any time by either pushing the main switch of the kettle to the “OFF” position.
- When water boils, the steam passes through the steam channel and then switches off the kettle. To pour water, lift the kettle from the power base and pour.
- When pouring out the water incline the kettle slightly and gradually. Do not forget that hot water is inside.
- An automatic safety boil-dry cut-out has been fitted for protection against overheating: It will also operate if the kettle is switched on when containing insufficient water. Always ensure the water inside the kettle covers the minimum mark on the water level indicator gauge. If the cut-out has operated, switch the kettle off, disconnect from the power outlet and allow the kettle to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes. Then refill with enough water and switch on; the kettle will then boil and cut off as in normal operation..
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Unplug the kettle and wait until it cools down completely before cleaning or storing.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the exterior of the unit, its base or its power cord with water, and do not immerse it in water. The exterior of the kettle may be cleaned with a slightly damp non-abrasive lint-free cloth without additives.
- The filter may be removed for cleaning purposes. To do this, place the filter vertically, pull upwards and draw out. Wash the outside of the filter in the water flow.
- Refit all parts when they are completely dry.
- In the hard water area, it is important to do the decalcification regularly to keep the kettle in good working condition, because too much scale inside may cause the kettle fail to work. For the best performance of your kettle, decalcify the unit from time to time. The frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how many times you have used the kettle. Decalcification will clean the interior of the unit.
This may be done in the following manner
- Half fill the kettle with ordinary tap water.
- Add 30 ml of white vinegar to the water in the kettle.
- Boil the mixture and allow it to stand for 30 seconds.
- Repeat this process two or three. Empty, rinse well, and use the kettle in the normal way.
Troubleshooting
- The device is not working
- Check that the mains connection cable is firmly plugged in.
- Check the right positions of the kettle on the base.
- Check the positions of the switches.
