YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US. PLEASE ENSURE YOU TAKE NOTE OF THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS OUTLINED IN THIS MANUAL.

CAUTION:
In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut- out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.

  •  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  •  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  •  Use only the voltage specified on the rating label of the appliance.

  •  Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
  •  Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or damaged.
  •  The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.
  •  Never use the appliance to dry clothes.
  •  Always unplug appliance when not in use.
  •  When the appliance has been unpacked, check it for transport damage and ensure all parts have been delivered. If parts are missing or the appliance has been damaged, contact the Customer Services Team.
  •  Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the appliance.
  •  Do not connect the appliance to mains supply until completely assembled and adjusted.
  •  Ensure hands are dry before handling the plug or main unit.
  •  Ensure appliance is on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  •  Do not operate with cord set coiled up as a heat build up is likely, which could be sufficient to become a hazard.
  •  Carry out regular checks of the supply cord to ensure no damage is evident
  •  Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord, plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Take to a qualified electrical person for examination, electrical service or repair.
  •  Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause the insulation to weaken and split. Always ensure that all cord has been removed from any cord storage area and is unrolled before use.
  •  It is recommended that this appliance is plugged directly into the wall socket. Power boards are not rated to supply power to high wattage appliances.
  •  A correctly specified, undamaged extension cord may be used with this appliance provided it is used in a safe manner.
  •  Do not remove plug from power socket until the appliance has been switched off.
  •  Do not remove plug from power socket by pulling cord; always grip plug.
  •  Do not place cord under carpet or cover with rugs or furniture. Arrange the cord so it cannot be tripped over.
  •  Don’t place appliance on bedding or on thick & long carpet where the openings may get blocked.
  •  Switch off and use handle provided when moving
  •  Do not place appliance close to radiant heat source.
  •  Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to the appliance.
  •  Do not sit on the appliance.
  •  Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Clean with a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only. Always remove plug from the mains supply before cleaning.
  •  Do not operate in areas where petrol, paint or other flammable liquids are used or stored.
  •  Do not use this appliance in the immediate surrounds of a bath, a shower, or a swimming pool or other liquids.
  •  The appliance must not be immersed in any liquids.
  •  There are no user serviceable parts installed in the unit.
  •  Do not place the unit in wardrobes or other enclosed spaces as this may cause fire hazards.
  •  This unit is not supposed to be used in or around locations where foodstuffs, works of art or delicate articles of science, etc. are stored.
  •  If your appliance does not work, or is not working properly, contact the place of purchase or the Customer Services Team.
  •  This appliance contains a UV-C lamp.
  •  Read the manufacturers instructions before opening the appliance
  •  Unintended use of the appliance or damage to the housing may result in the escape of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation may, even in small doses cause harm to the eyes and skin.
  •  Appliances that are obviously damaged must not be operated.
  •  The UV-C lamp is not user replaceable.

Assembling Your Dehumidifier

Inserting the filters
This device comes with an activated carbon filter and HEPA filter for use in Air Purification mode.Remove the back of the unit and place the activated carbon filter in the housing. Then place the HEPA filter in before replacing the back of the unit. It is suggested to vacuum the carbon filter every 2-3 weeks and change it every 3-6 months to always keep the room fresh and odour free. Depending upon the conditions and frequency of use, it is generally recommended to replace the HEPA filter after about 3 months. (The HEPA filter cannot be washed)
IMPORTANT:
A clogged filter shall result in decreased performance and potential damage on the device. DO NOT operate the unit without the back prefilter secured in place Always choose a safe location for the dehumidifier, keeping in mind the safety precautions outlined. Ensure all packaging has been removed from the unit before use. Please follow the below instructions.
WARNING:
In order to avoid overheating or fire, do not cover the dehumidifier.
WARNING:
Keep all objects at least 200mm from all sides of the appliance.
WARNING:
Do not use this dehumidifier with a programmer, separate timer, remote-control system or any other device that switches the dehumidifier on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the dehumidifier is covered or positioned incorrectly.
WARNING:
Never leave this dehumidifier unattended. Ensure dehumidifier is on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Once the dehumidifier is in a safe operating position and all switches are in the off position, insert the power plug into the mains outlet and switch on.
CAUTION:
Ensure the power cord is not tight because if pulled it may partially pull the plug from the socket. A partially inserted plug will overheat the plug and socket and could result in fire. Leave the appliance to stand for one hour after transport or after the unit has been on its side before connecting it to the mains supply to let the refrigerant settle. Ensure all external windows and doors are closed before turning on the unit. Ensure that the water container is positioned correctly.DO NOT operate this unit without the back filter in place.

POWER BUTTON

  • Press the ‘Power’ button to turn your dehumidifier ON and OFF. After turning unit OFF, the fan will continue to run for about 2 minutes to reduce the residual heat inside the unit. After 2 minutes, the fan and the louvre will automatically close and the unit will stop running. (Do not remove the plug directly while the power is still on or during the heat reduction time to avoid damage to the unit or reduce the unit’s life). When the unit is OFF but plugged in, your dehumidifier is in STANDBY MODE.When the unit is running, press the ‘Mode’ button to choose the operation mode.
  •  Smart: In this mode, the target humidity is set to 50%RH and cannot be adjusted. The fan speed is automatically adjusted according to the detected ambient humidity and cannot be manually adjusted by the ‘Fan Speed’ button.
  •  Dehumidifier: When in dehumidifier mode, the 2 digit display shows the current humidity and the LED display will show the current temperature. To amend the target humidity, press the keys (the humidity is set to cycle from ‘35% – 80%’,once to set the humidity increase by 5%), and adjust the air volume and dehumidification capacity by pressing the ‘Fan Speed’ button. Your set humidity will flash on the screen before defaulting back to the current humidity setting.
  •  Continuous dehumidification (drying) function: When the target humidity is set to 35% in the dehumidifier mode, the unit runs in dry mode, and continue to dehumidify until the water tank is full. This mode is suitable for helping to dry clothes. Do not place the clothing directly on the air outlet of the unit. Make sure that there is a distance of at least 1.5m between the clothes and the machine. Also set the louvre to the OSC mode to direct the airflow onto the clothes for drying. Normal operating condition is based on 23oC.
  •  Air purifier: This will help to improve the indoor air quality using the purifier filters. The unit does not dehumidify is this mode. No air moisture will be extracted.
  •  Heater: Not applicable in this model.

SMART HUMIDITY INDICATOR
This device has a colour coded LED ring display that will advise you of current room humidity:

  • Above 80% : Red LED ring
  • Between 60-80%: (80%≥RH≥60%): Green LED ring
  • Under 60%: Blue LED ring
  • These LED rings will change colour as the room humidity changes.

FAN SPEED
When the unit is running, the air volume can be adjusted by pressing Fan Speed:

  •  Turbo: The fan runs at high speed and the dehumidification is at the maximum capacity.
  •  Normal: The fan runs at medium speed, the dehumidification is at normal capacity.
  •  Low: The fan runs at low speed and the dehumidification is at the minimum capacity.

UV & ION
The UV and ION functions are controlled by one button:

  •  Press once, the UV function is turned on, the UV indicator lights up, and the ION function and indicator light are off.
  •  Press again, the UV function is turned off and the ION function and indicator are lit.
  •  Press for a third time, the UV and ION functions are both turned on and the indicators are lit.
  •  Press for a forth time, the UV and ION functions are turned off and the indicators are off.

OSC/SWING
When the unit is running, press the ‘SWING’ button, and the louvre will swing at ‘(45-90 degrees swing wind)—(stop)’. When the louvre is on, the ‘SWING’ button lights up. When you turn on the unit for the first time, the louvre defaults to the 90 degree position.

CHILD LOCK
The ‘SWING: button doubles up as a Child Lock function. Press and hold this button to enter the child lock mode, you will see the child lock indicator light up and all functionality of the control panel will stop. To unlock, simply press and hold the child lock button until the child lock indicator light switches off.

TIMER
Setting the timer to turn the dehumidifier ON

  •  When the unit is in STANDBY MODE. Press the ‘TIMER’ button, its LED display will flash and the 2 digit display will default to show ’01.
  •  Press button, to increase/decrease the timer by 1h, to a maximum of 24hrs. To cancel the timer, set it to ‘0’.
  •  Once a time is set and there is no operation for 3 seconds, the timer is confirmed.
  •  To alter a set time, press the ‘TIMER’ button and adjust with the  key.

Setting the timer to turn the dehumidifier OFF

  •  When the unit is ON. Press the ‘TIMER’ button, its LED display will flash and the 2 digit display will default to show ’01.
  •  Press button, to increase/decrease the timer by 1h, to a maximum of 24hrs. To cancel the timer, set it to ‘0’.
  •  Once a time is set and there is no operation for 3 sec, the timer setting is successful.
  •  After the time has lapsed, the unit stops running.
  •  To alter a set time, press the ‘TIMER’ button and adjust with the  key.

WiFi

  •  This dehumidifier is WiFi enabled, allowing full operation of your dehumidifier from the Goldair WiFi app.
  •  Follow the instructions in this manual under the section titled ‘WiFi –Downloading and Setting up App’ for information on how to operate the unit via the Goldair app.
  •  To set the unit in to WiFI pairing mode, press and hold the ‘MODE’ button, until the buzzer sounds and the SMART’ indicator flashes.

USING YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
The settings on the remote control are similar to the control panel.
Note:
Ensure you always point the remote control at the LED light screen on the front of the unit.

  • POWER : Turn unit on/off
  • SWING: Change the Oscillation setting. Choose between 3 modes:
  • Swing off and air blowing at 45 degrees
  • Swing off and air blowing at 90 degrees
  • Swing on and air blowing between 45-90 degrees
    • MODE: Change settings between
    • SMART/HEATER/DEHUMIDIFIER / AIR PURIFIER. The functionality works the same as via the control panel.
    • + / – : Use to increase and decrease temperature or humidity levels.
    • FAN: Change the fan speed between Turbo, Normal and Sleep
    • UV: Turn UV mode on and off
    • LOCK: Enable child lock setting by holding down for 3 seconds.
    • LAMP: Turn lamp on/off by holding down “ION” button for 3 seconds.
  • ION: Turn Ion mode on and off
  • TIMER: Use to turn unit on when in standby mode or off when in on mode. Press ‘TIMER’ and use the ‘+’ / ‘-’ buttons to choose between 1 – 24 hours. The device will
  • turn on/off after the selected amount of time.

TANK FULL INDICATOR
When the tank is full, the unit will stop running, and the Full indicator light will flash. Grip the tank by its handles and carefully pull out. Empty the water tank and reinsert it into the dehumidifier. The tank must be in place and securely seated for the dehumidifier to operate again. The dehumidifier will re-start when the tank is restored to its correct position.

CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE
This dehumidifier has a continuous drain hole that can be connected to a plastic pipe with a 15 mm inner diameter (Supplied in the packing). Water can be smart plumbed in or drained into a sink, a larger receptacle or through the wall into an outside drain. Please follow the steps below to set your unit up for continuous drainage.

  •  Cut off the cover for the continuous drain on the back of the unit.
  •  Pull out the water tank and connect a water tube of inner diameter 15mm to the drain connector, and ensure the connection is tight.
  •  Return the water tank back into position within the unit.This unit uses gravity to drain the water. The drain should be lower than the dehumidifier water outlet. Be sure to run the water pipe downward and let the water flow out smoothly. Do not kink or bend the pipe.

WiFi – Downloading and Setting up APP

This APP is supported only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channels. Please ensure your phone is 2.4GHz capable Note this device will only work within your home WIFI system. This does not operate on 3G or 4G internet connections. You will need a coannection to your home Wi-Fi. Download Goldair mobile APP

  •  Open the APP Store or Google Play on your mobile phone.
  •  Open ‘Search’ and enter ‘Goldair’
  •  Click ‘GET’ and begin to download and install.

Once downloaded to your phone open the APP

  •  Tap REGISTER near the bottom of the screen.
  •  Read and agree to the Privacy Policy.
  • Add your email address.
  •  Tap ‘Obtain verification code’

You will then receive an email with a verification code.

  •  Enter the verification code from your email.
  •  Create a password.
  •  Then tap confirm.

If you haven’t received a verification code via email, tap the resend button and when the verification code is received follow above steps.Your APP is now registered and ready for pairing to your device.

Pairing APP to Device

Details for pairing this heater to the Goldair App can be found at the below website link. Either scan the QR code below or enter the website into your browser.To connect to the Goldair app you must ensure that your device is in pairing mode which is where the Wifi Icon is flashing. Most products will be in pairing mode after switching the device on but if it is not:

  •  Put device on STAND-BY mode (ON at the wall but device is OFF)
  •  Hold down “MODE” button for around 5 seconds or until the Wifi icon begins to flash.

SAFETY DEVICES
This appliance has two protection devices:

  •  Resettable Thermal Link – this will automatically disconnect the power to the appliance at a pre-set overheat temperature. After cooling down it will reset and power on again. If this occurs, investigate what is causing the appliance to overheat.
  •  Thermal Fuse – this disconnects the appliance permanently in case of overheating. (It is nonresettable).

CARE AND CLEANING
The dehumidifier requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble free operation:

  •  Unplug the dehumidifier from the mains supply before cleaning.
  •  Ensure that the dehumidifier has been allowed to cool down completely before cleaning.
  •  The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff in the appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging the appliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.

The air filter should also be cleaned regularly (every 2 weeks)

  •  The air-inlet may gather dust easily, please clean it often with a soft, damp cloth.
  •  If the filter is covered by dust, the airflow and the performance of the unit will be affected, it may even cause damage to the unit.
  •  We recommend that you regularly clean the filters.
  •  The dehumidifier must be disconnected from the socket before maintenance and the filters must be allowed to fully dry before re use.
  •  Remove the filters from the unit and tap the dust away.
  •  Clean the carbon , the HEPA and the mesh filter with a vacuum cleaner or soft-brush.
  •  If dirt and grease is accumulated wash the mesh filter only in hot soapy water.
  •  Replace the filters in position.
  •  Note: Never use the unit without the antibacterial mesh dust filter.
  •  The active carbon filter and HEPA filters should be replaced as necessary after 3-6 months of usage, depending upon the conditions of use.
  •  IMPORTANT: The HEPA and active carbon filters CANNOT be washed as they shall get damaged.
  •  Unintended use of the appliance or damage to the housing may result in the escape of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation may, even in small doses cause harm to the eyes and skin.
  •  Appliances that are obviously damaged must not be operated.
  •  The UV-C lamp is not user replaceable.
  •  The water tank should be cleaned every few weeks to prevent growth of mould, mildew, and bacteria.
  •  Partially fill the tank with clean water and add a little mild detergent. Swish it around and then empty the tank and rinse.To thoroughly clean and dry the tank, you can remove the handle and lid to gain access to the inside of the tank by following these instructions:
    Note:
    After cleaning, drying, and reassembling the water tank, it must be reinserted securely into dehumidifier in order to restart operation.

STORAGE
If you plan on not using your dehumidifier for a long time, store your dehumidifier by following these instructions:

  1.  Switch off the unit and unplug it from the mains socket.
  2.  Empty and clean the water tank.
  3.  Clean the unit and the filters (Please refer to the Care and Cleaning Section).
  4.  Cover the unit and keep it in a dry place.

Troubleshooting

Three Year Warranty

Thank you for purchasing this Goldair Platinum product. Your product is warranted against faults and manufacture when used in normal domestic use for a period of three years. In non-domestic use Goldair limits the voluntary warranty to three months. Goldair undertake to repair or replace this product at no charge if found to be defective due to a manufacturing fault during the warranty period. This warranty excludes damage caused by misuse, neglect, shipping accident, incorrect installation, or work carried out by anyone other than a qualified electrical service technician.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECEIPT AS THIS WILL HELP VERIFY YOUR WARRANTY.
The benefits given to you by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under law in relation to the goods or services to which this warranty relates. In Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. In New Zealand this warranty is additional to the conditions and guarantees of the Consumers Guarantee Act (1993).
