FAQ

1. Is AD20 compatible with my car?

The Advancer AD20 works with all vehicles using the standard OBD-II protocol.

2. Can the AD20 be plugged into the car all the time?

Yes, under normal driving conditions, plugging it into the car will not drain or damage the Advancer AD20's battery. Advancer AD20 uses low-power Bluetooth and will automatically enter sleep mode 3 minutes after the car is turned off. It turns on again when the car is turned on.

3. Why can't I connect to my AD20?

1. Launching the ‘Advanced’ app will allow the phone to automatically connect to the device, so that you don’t need to manually find the device in the phones Bluetooth connection. 2. Make sure to allow ‘Advanced’ to turn on Bluetooth, get location information and access device storage. Make sure the AD20 is firmly plugged into the OBD-II port. 3. Make sure the app you use is from reliable sources and is up to date.

4. Why can't AD20 communicate with the vehicle?

1. Make sure the engine is started and idling. 2. Please check if the brand and model registered in the Advancer’ app are correct.

5. What should do if the device cannot be registered or logged in?

Check the network and the account information. If both are correct and the problem still exists, please contact customer support.

6. Why the fault codes couldn’t be deader, or just appears again after cleared?

1. When clearing the code, please refer to the actual situation of the fault. Usually there are sporadic codes and actual codes: Sporadic code: Generally, it occurs when the components do not work property at some point, which may be electromagnetic interference, vibration, poor wiring contact, etc. These codes can be cleared directly. Actual Code: This happens when there are broken components. Before clearing these codes, please make sure you have fixed relevant components. If the fault light comes on again after clearing the code, it means that the faulty component is not fully repaired and further inspection is required in these cases.

7. Why there is no lights shown on my dashboard but AD20 scanned that there are DTC codes present?

1. Not all DTC codes will trigger a fault light on the dashboard - the automaker will determine which faults will trigger the light and which will not. 2. The ECU may still not be entirely sure if this is a fault. There may be electromagnetic interference or vibration misleading the ECU. Usually, in these cases, the ECU will run a few more cycles to determine if this is a real fault.

8. Why there are fault lights on the dashboard, but the Advancer cannot find any DTC codes?

Please make sure AD20 can diagnose DTC-related system. AD20: OBDII Standard fault codes & Engine in-depth check AD20 Pro: OBDI! Standard fault codes and all systems in-depth check e.g.: If there is an ABS light on the dashboard, the AD20 cannot display specific fault codes, but the AD20 Pro can.

9. Why the fault light tamed on during diagnostics?

This is a normal phenomenon. Some ECUs will enter the diagnosis mode and the corresponding fault lights will turn on during diagnosis. The light will turn off automatically after the diagnosis is completed.
