1.8 Important information

**WARNING!
Protective equipment:
Guide the cable only with a suitable guide glove.
Wear protective glasses depending on the application.
Wear safety shoes with rubber soles (insulation) during cleaning work.
ATTENTION!
Work area:
Place the drain cleaning machine on a straight and non-slip surface.
Never place the main cable in the area of the pipe cleaning cable.
Always work with the guide hose.
WARNING!**
Before switching the drain cleaner on.
Avoid unintentional rotation of the cable. Put the control switch in OFF- Position before connecting the drain cleaner to the power supply.
The danger of jamming: Do not form a large working arc with the cable. The cable can overturn.
Make sure that the distance between the Wöhler RM 400 and the pipe entrance is max. 50cm.  Do not pull out the cable anymore. Risk of injury: The cable can jump out of the tube under tension.

NOTE!
Select the appropriate auger for the blockage and the pipe diameter in order to prevent the auger from hooking and thus the cable from being thrown out of the pipe. Use a
camera system to identify the cause of the blockage and select the appropriate tool.
NOTE!
Mechanical pipe cleaning should always be carried out from above, towards the blockage.
**WARNING!**
Maintenance:
Disconnect the electric power before making any adjustment, accessory assembly, and maintenance. Keep the electric part of the machine from getting wet. Do not immerse

  • When the cable has moved into the pipe so far that the working bend is relieved, pull the cable out of the machine and form a networking bend.

Important information

ATTENTION!
Never insert the cable with pressure.

  •  If there is a slight resistance, center the handle and let the tool work. If necessary, use a Cutter drill to loosen blockages.
  • If you feel the cable blocking when inserting, immediately set the feed handle to “reverse” and let the cable run reverse for approx. 20 – 30 cm.

Troubleshooting

WARNING!
If the above instructions are not followed, the cable may twist in the cable drum. In this case switch off the machine.

  • Remove the cable out of the pipeline.
  • Loosen the lock knob, set the handle to the middle position, and carefully pull out the cable of the drum by hand until the part remaining in the cable drum is no longer twisted. (If necessary, pull out the cable completely).
  • If the drain cleaning cable is not pulled out completely, turn the drum by hand and push the cable back in carefully. If necessary, pull out a part of the cable several times and push it back in.
  • Once the cable is completely pulled out, carefully pull it with the  RM 400 switched on: Pull the handle down and press the foot pedal.

5.4 After drain cleaning

  • Pull the cable out of the pipeline and clean it with water.
  • Flush and dry the drain cleaning cable and augers. Lubricate them with oil and keep them in a dry place to prevent rusting.

Maintenance

6.1 Regular maintenance

WARNING!
Switch off the machine and disconnect the electric power before making any adjustment, accessory assembly, or maintenance.

NOTE!
The bearings of the Wöhler RM 400 are self-lubricating and therefore do not need to be greased.

  • Take care that no electric part of the machine gets wet.

6.2 Exchange of automatic feed unit

Prior to the next use, after being stored for a long time, check the machine for free rotation, then turn on the control switch. If the machine shaft does not rotate after the motor is running or the handle is pressed, there may be rust inside. Turn off the electric power immediately to avoid electric damage. In this case, send it to the service or replace the automatic feed unit.
